Hi All; I just need to know the openion about Grandstream phone, actually I tried Budge Tone 201 and I chocked that there is a noise in the handset (zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz) always, but in the speaker the sound is good and no noise. Paging unit suggestions
We currently have an Asterisk system that is hooked up to our old paging speakers via sound card, plugged into two amps. Each amp drives up to 8 analog speakers in each warehouse (we have 2). Both warehouses are around 30k square feet. Both have a large number of printing presses. The computer system is that is running Asterisk is around 10 years old and starting to fail. I'm looking to

grandstream budgetone 101
Maybe I'm loosing my mind but I've just noticed that if I put a call on speakerphone and I press speakerphone again it hangs up the call, you would expect it to take the call off speaker back on to the hand piece. I'm using V 1.0.5.22 firmware. Is there any other way to turn off speakerphone I'm missing? Cheers, Dean -------------- next part -------------- An

Grandstream speakerphone?
Idle curiosity: I like the look and feel of the Grandstreams, but it's been my experience that the speakerphones suck (esp. when compared to the pretty damn flawless Polycoms). I've used the BT-100/101 and GS-2000; have any of their newer models changed that? Thanks! -Ken -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean.

Grandstream 100 pricing question
Hi All, I can get Grandstream 100 SIP phones for EUR 75. I'm not sure about the pricing for these in Europe, so I'd like to hear from people here whether that is a reasonable price for them? SIP "unphones"
Does anyone know if there are additional SIP devices out there which aren't phones? I'm basically looking for a fully-automatic SIP speakerphone. I'd like to be able to dial a sip-extension and make an announcement (PA) and/or simply listen in to a room (baby-monitor). Yes, I know, some of the more advanced phones can be configured to behave like that, but it seems to a waste of

External relay triggered by Asterisk extension-question
Very friggen cool, that you very much for the information it looks like it will do the job nicely. What did you use in your extensions list to activate the relay? Re: Paging using multiple sound cards
Why *wouldn't* I bother? Using $5-$10 sound cards would be a much cheaper, professional, and more permanent solution than having a couple hacked phones laying near the PA system. Just trying to keep the setup clutter and problem free, as well as as cheap as possible. I'm not a developer, but I don't think it'd be too much of a pain to program the console channel driver to provide

Echo cancellation and DTMF from the Asterisk console?
Hi, I'd like to try using a good quality microphone and a set of PC speakers (in the first instance) to create a powerful speakerphone; if I get that working, I'll probably try more elaborate audio equipment. For this to work, I'll need software acoustic echo cancellation, or the caller at the other end will constantly hear his/her voice echoing back. I gather Asterisk can do

Semi-OT: Best Speakerphone
I'm looking for recommendations on speakerphones for a conference room. We're using Grandstream GXP-2000 which we've been very happy with on all accounts, except the speaker phone. Speaker phones on these units are extremely bad, picking up any and all background as well as having full-duplex issues (that is, when the other end is talking you can't talk over them to interrupt or

Overhead paging over IP...
I have a customer that has two buildings that are connected with a fiber link. We have a single Asterisk server to cover both buildings. Now the customer went and bought an overhead paging system for the remote building and they want to integrate it with Asterisk. Is there a device that can connect over IP or an ATA that has an audio output port? The buildings are about 500 meters apart so we

Can you monitor a call via the asterisk speaker system and do a call pickup if you wish
Reason. I have a fax/ans phone with handset, that lets you monitor the caller, so if you wish, you can pickup the call. The asterisk is undergoing testing, it will then be online tested at the house so I can get more familiar in setting components up, e.g. sip phones, voicemail, transfers etc. But, I really need the monitoring of the Voicemall being left, with the ability to pick up the

Stereo Conferences?
Are there any speakerphones or other conferencing HW phones that play the audio in stereo? Either their own speakers, or jacks for an amp with room speakers? Is there any way for Asterisk to deliver call legs with stereo channels in the RTP stream? If not, is it possible for Asterisk to keep 2 separate calls, or pairs of legs in a conference call, synced exactly enough (including traveling over

I am on a budget, hoping to find someone here who has some used to sell or point me in the direction of a seller. I am in the US. thanks, Mike

Full Duplex
We've had an issue since we went live nearly two years ago on Asterisk where people complain about not being able to talk while someone else is talking. I had assumed for a very long time this was because of the phones we went live with (Grandstream GXP-2000's) and for the longest time I believed this was a speakerphone problem only. Last week during budgets, a request to buy new

Grandstream phone from speaker phone back to handset
I have problem to change from handsfree mode to handset mode. When I switch from handset to handsfree while waiting for connection I press the green speakerphone button once. It is all well. Once it is connected I don't want to give the called party too much echo and I want to switch it back to handset. If I press the green button again I lose the call. Anyone knows whether it is possible
