top posting again [was: Re: CDR Design] - Or was it top posting?
Thanks for that, it IS appreciated - but, everyone, can we please not argue this matter any more. Some see it as top posting - some don't. I really don't care either way. No if we could just get back to the subject in hand and not clog up this list with flames. top posting again [was: Re: CDR Design]
Well, it seems this opened one large can of worms. Anyway, just to repeat my previous plea - and to echo David's request - can we please stop all this 'top post' rubbish and move on with our lives? Session Progress Transmission to Phone
Asterisk doesn't seem to be relaying 183, Session Progress SIP messages received from an upstream host back to the phone. Anyone know why? Here's the SIP message that Asterisk receives, and it does nothing with it. It doesn't pass it back to the phone. <-- SIP read from xxx.yyy.142.234:5060: SIP/2.0 183 Session Progress Via: SIP/2.0/UDP

[SPAM] - Re: CDR Design - Email found in subject
Hi murf, Speaking as someone who designs and builds billing platforms, this is very exciting. One little thing I have most problems with is the good old fax detection. I know that NVFaxDetect et al do actually answer the call and, therefore, get flagged as ANSWERED in the CDR. But, if the call never gets answered after the initial detection - then, to my customer, it is a missed (NO ANSWER)

call files hacking...
Hello asterisk-users, There are .call files, with their own syntax, ant they works. But I have a problem. The voip-info.org says: "... If the call answers, connect it here ..." that means, if the called people picks up the phone, he/she hear ringing, until the "caller" picks up the phone. But what can I do, to connect the call before it answers, so the when the called

ISDN outgoing caller id
Hi, is anybody out there who can set the outgoing caller id on ISDN (CAPI or misdn) channels? I've tryed everything what I found in forums, os voip-info.com but no luck. I use a fritz card with CAPI in my first installation (1 BRI), and a hfc 4 port bri card with misdn on other. The first installation have p-t-mp configuration, the second one is p-t-p. Both configuration is EuroISDN in

The plain old PBX functionality
Hi, back in the old analog telephony days there was "digital" PBX-es and digital "system" phonesets. This phonesets have had many individual illuminatable buttons connected with extensions. The PBX can show on the buttons if some extension is ringing (blinks) or busy (constant light), and the user can transfer the call with one touch (pressing one of this button). I search

Internal Data Stream Error
Hello again, I am using mix monitor and the majority of the sound records perfectly. I then get a "Internal Data Stream Error" near the end of the sound file. Has anyone ever seen this? I am allowing the ULAW amd ALAW codecs and an example dialplan entry is ; ; phone line phone1 exten => phone1,1,Answer() exten => phone1,2,MixMonitor(test.wav|av(0)V(0)) exten =>

CDR Posting Delay
We have a situation where it's sometimes taking Asterisk 17-19 minutes to post CDR's, both over the AMI, and over the MySQL socket. It seems however that they are logged locally to /var/log/asterisk/cdr-csv/Master.csv right after the call is terminated. Anyone got any idea what's causing this? It's a problem for us because we (badly IMHO) are using CDR's to maintain call state

CDR Design
I've taken the liberty of starting a new thread to discuss the design of the Asterisk CDR mechanism. The discussion has been kindly initiated by murf putting together a proposal: http://svn.digium.com/svn/asterisk/team/murf/RFCs. After reading the proposal I still don't think it's the right way to go. To my mind adding more channel variables increases the complexity in a situation

CDR on MySQL
What would it do if you exten => h,1,ResetCDR(w) exten => h,2,NoCDR() exten => h,3,DEADAGI(get-unqiueid.php) I have not tried it but in theory it should write the first CDR and then kill the write of the second NO ANSWER CDR. Let me know if it works for you as I may need to do it on some of my h exten code as well. Bryant ---------------------------------------- From:

Problem with odbc connector with cdr
I notice you have MySQL-asterisk as your definition in your odbc.ini but you are trying to connect to simply 'MySQL' with your 'isql' command. Does isql work with 'MySQL-asterisk' as the DSN instead of simply 'MySQL' ? I have machines that use /etc/odbc.ini and machines that use /usr/local/etc/odbc.ini depending on if I used a package to instal ODBC or if I
