softphone/debug panel with BLF
Mostly to debug/test BLF, is there a softphone or another app. which can subscribe to hints on Asterisk? Heck, it doesn't even need to be able to do calls :-) Leif

RPID on SNOM phones?
Hello, I am running Asterisk 1.4 with the RPID patch (8824) in order to display the name of the *called* person. It works on Cisco and Polycom phones, but not on SNOM. The local SNOM dealer claims that he saw it working, but he cannot give me more details. Has anyone managed to make it working? Thanks, __Yehavi: -------------- next part -------------- An

BLF and Snom phones
Hello, I am having some troubles with Snom phones and maybe someone can help me. Let me say this: BLF and pickup works great with Polycomes and Grandstream etc... So I think my problem might not be Asterisk related but I am not 100% sure. The snom phones subscribe to my extensions (hint priority) as expected. The light blinks (ringing) or is turned on (in the call) as expected. My problem is to

Trouble with call pickup using RPID with Cisco
I have a Cisco 1760V with FXO ports hooked to POTS lines talking SIP to asterisk 1.8.15.0. imagining in extensions.conf: exten => 1,1,Dial(SIP/121) exten => 2,1,Dial(SIP/121&SIP/122) When a caller dials extension 2 /and/ I have trustrpid=yes generaterpid=yes sendrpid=yes in sip.conf and I use the pickup exten, the caller is disconnected. see:

WebRTC as Softphone substitute ?
Hello, This morning, I asked myself if WebRTC could be a viable alternative to softphone deployment. For me, main issue with Softphones is the amount of work needed for installation and configuration. Also, Softphones must be carefully choosen if Deskphone-like quality is expected. Now that WebRTC becomes ubiquitous, it might make sense to trade Softphone features (call history, BLF, ...) for

RPID on called party
Hello, Did anyone manage to force asterisk to put Remote-party-ID attribute on the SIP outgoing call? I.e. When A calls B, I want that A gets a name of B displayed on his phone. Note that name of A gets displayed on the B's phone fine, but this is not what I want. This works with Cisco Call manager fine - the RPID is sent as a part of the response to the SIP INVITE this way: SIP/2.0 180

WebRTC as Softphone substitute ?
Hi Olivior, We have recently worked on a WebRTC based agent panel. As based on my experience I think that WebRTC based phones are far better and cheaper then those soft / sip phone. the big plus is that they are easy to customize and developer can use the power of browser and web to build / offer features which are not possible with regular phones. Regarding your concern about BLF or call

TCP<->UDP SIP proxy?
Hello, One of our faculties have Microsoft's LCS and would like to connect it to our Asterisk system. the problem is that Asterisk talks SIP over UDP while LCS talks SIP over TCP with TLS. Anyone can recommend a gateway between these two protocols? Thanks! __Yehavi:

SLA and Flashing BLF
I understand that the Asterisk SLA implementation is somewhat different from most key systems and PBX systems. I also understand that in Asterisk, one does not put an SLA line on hold since it is just a MeetMe conference. However, is there any way to make the BLF flash when the answering party on the Asterisk system presses the hold key on their set and leaves the calling party alone in the

SIP Phone dropping calls, SIP Softphones working fine
Hello! I am semi-new to asterisk, I've been toying with it for about a month now. I'm using the current version from the CVS server (as of last week) and have succesfully connected it to Broadvoice, as well as a few softphones. I got a Nortel i2004 IP phone from a friend to setup at home as a homephone using Broadvoice, but going through my * box and using iptel.com for toll free calls.

Called party name with Cisco-2,811 gateway
Hello, I am using a Cisco 2,811 gateway to connect Asterisk over PRI to our Nortel TX-1 PBX. Up to now I had only the calling party names passed both ways. After upgrading the Cisco to the latest release (12.4.24T) it began honoring the "remote-part-ID" field sent by Asterisk and sends the *called*name to the Nortel. However, I still do not get the called name from the Nortel to

Polycoms and BLF
I'm trying to get the BLF to work correctly on my Polycom phones. I have the buddy watch working correctly, but can't get the BLF to change based on the state... Example: When an extension is ringing, I get the same 'red light' that I get when the extension is actually in use... I was wondering if anyone had any experience with getting the Polycom phone to

WebRTC as Softphone substitute ?
@Olivior I agree that seting up WebRTC is hard, however when done it is smooth to use. For replication you can build RPMs with working configurations. Regarding stability, it is not being used widly, so can't say it is mature. However we have no complain so far regarding audio or connectivity. sometime we provide support for "allow media / mic" type issues, but you know it is

"403 Forbidden" between two softphones on same Asterisk
Hi, I have two softphones connected to an Asterisk "stable". I have two extensions, say 1000 and 2000. When 1000 calls 2000, the call cannot be completed; the softphone (either Diax97a , SJphone, Firefly 1.8) on extension 2000 will ring, but as soon as the call is picked up, extension 2000 will hang up the call. The softphone on 1000 (SIP, SJphone, e.g.) will give a "403

SIP/2.0 489 Bad Event in reply to a PUBLISH
Hi, in these dark days of COVID-19 lockdown I'm using linphone to connect to my office asterisk system for working from home. It's going pretty well but the presence/BLF functions don't appear to work. In the linphone logs and asterisk debug I find that asterisk is rejecting linphone's PUBLISH message: <--- SIP read from UDP:10.27.128.3:5060 ---> PUBLISH sip:john at

Asterisk with or without OpenSER
Hello, I am running a small installation of asterisk and looking for future expansion of it to handle thousands of users. From what I read I see that usually large installation place OpenSER (or similar solution) in front of Asterisk in order to provide high call rate because "OpenSER does only signalling while Asterisk does all". My question is: If Asterisk also does only signalling

Enhanced Messaging and softphones
Hello, I've just read in [1] about SIP MESSAGE addition to both chan_pjsip and ConfBridge. It seems very interesting addition as it brings the capability to mix voice, video and text in conferencing. On an other hand, there are some softphones (Zoiper, Bria, ...) that tout voice, video and chat capability. Though Enhanced Messaging solution described in [1] seems more attractive to me in the
