MusicOnHold from a Sound card
Hi, I would like to get musiconhold from a sound card. This is because I want to kind of be a DJ and easily change the music playing, etc. However, I followed the instructions at http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-Asterisk+config+musiconhold.conf and other tutorials on the net but no success. I have [mycustom] mode=custom directory=/var/lib/asterisk/mohmp3 application=/usr/sbin/ast-playlinein and

arecord pipe to celtenc just stops
Hi all, Just found out about this codec and I'm really impressed. I compiled celt-0.5.2.tar.gz on my desktop and tried out a few tests. I then did a native fixed point arm compile on my beagleboard which also worked a treat. Before I get started with the library I was trying to see if I could grab some real time audio, encode it and write to a file using arecord in conjunction with

Music on hold is a durge
I have just setup music on hold by downloading and installing mpg123 r Now I have music on hold but it sounds terrible - clipping, buzzing, digital distortion, and its too loud (which probably isn't helping) and I'm just running it thru the 'default' line in music onhold.conf line default => quietmp3:/var/lib/asterisk/mohmp3, with the default mp3s. This is a standard 1.0.3

Playing Games with Wine while listening to music
I have this problem: When playing a PC game via wine while listening to music with let's say Amarok, there's no sound in the PC game anymore. It's like the sound channel is occupied by the music player so wine cannot playback any soundfiles. Sounds are working if I play a Linux game like Nexuiz while running some music via a music player (ok, completely different, I know, but

MOH sourced from a sound card?
I thought this had been around before but I can't seem to find anything about it. I have a customer whom prior to upgrading to Asterisk invested in one of those boxes that plays your company sales campaign into the MOH port on your key system. For reasons of message maintenance he wants to keep the box as part of the new system. Can I couple this to the sound card in the Asterisk server

Hiccups on music even with the Implement_SetThreadPriority patch
The application in cause is Foobar2000, the only application that plays music files inside archive files (e.g. a mp3 album contained in a .rar file). Unfortunately Amarok doesn't support KIOs :-( At first i was using the Debian unstable package, but the sound glitched at lot. So i built the latest version of wine, 0.9.20, after patching it with the SetThreadPriority patch. There was a reject

Music On Hold pain - suggestions?
Hi, all. I'm running the Asterisk 1.0.7 package that comes with Debian Sarge. I'm new to Asterisk, but so far almost everything is going well. However, I'm having a Hell of a time with Music On Hold. I've got an extension set up to test Music On Hold, as follows: exten => 3000,1,WaitMusicOnHold(300) I've tried the following in musiconhold.conf: default =>

(Yet another) Music on hold problem and another...
Hi, I've recently installed Asterisk and have got the majority of it configured (what an excellent piece of software it is, too), but I'm having a couple of problems. The first one is with music on hold! I've downloaded and installed mpg123 as specified: ># whereis mpg123 >mpg123: /usr/local/bin/mpg123 It's the correct version: >#
