NVidia component out
I realize this is getting a bit outside myth...but hopefully someone can offer some ideas... I'm using the latest NVIDIA drivers on Fedora 12, with Nvidia 8600GT. Although the dual DVI outputs work great, the driver just won't detect anything connected to the component video connector. Is anyone out there successfully using the component video out on their Nvidia card with a recent

See also: Myths 6 and 8.... there is not Myths 6 and 8!
While waiting for a compilation I was reading Debunking Wine Myths (http://wiki.winehq.org/Debunking_Wine_Myths#head-b7ba8535e8210369749ee2940a7f2bceac4d8ea2)... Nice read (there are really some crazy people....) until Myth 14 where I read: ``See also: Myths 6 and 8.'' There is not Myth 6 and 8! It is a mistake or some kind of joke? In the latter case... care to explain?

When are /proc/dahdi files created
Can someone tell me when the /proc/dahdi files are created for spans? Are they created when asterisk starts (or the asterisk init script) - if not what script creates them? -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Key always pressed (sticky or blocked)
Hi all. This is my first post here... sorry if this topic was already discussed, but I could not find anything related. In applications run with wine, especially games (but not only) one or more keys seem to be pressed. I mean, even if I don't even touch the keyboard, the program thinks I continuously press UP ARROW and/or RIGHT ARROW. This happens regardless of applications. Sometimes I can

ZFS error handling - suggestion
Howdy, I have at several times had issues with consumer grade PC hardware and ZFS not getting along. The problem is not the disks but the fact I dont have ECC and end to end checking on the datapath. What is happening is that random memory errors and bit flips are written out to disk and when read back again ZFS reports it as a checksum failure: pool: myth state: ONLINE status: One or more

Hi, I am running Asterisks on Public IP with Fedora Core 3. What is the recommendation for making Linux secure on the Public IP since I am new to Linux. Which Firewall should I use? I am not intending to use Linux as router. Can any one provide some configuration documentation. Obaid Siddiqui. Asterisk 1.0.2 - Unable to allocate channel structure
Hi, This morning I had some failed calls. On the console (and in the log) I saw the error "Unable to allocate channel structure". Before I restarted the process, I checked it's memory usage in ps and glanced at my free memory in top. Asterisk was using a normal ammount of memory, about 40M. I don't think this was a system limit. This was running Asterisk v1.0.2. Below is

[LLVMdev] [Proposal] Adding callback mechanism to Execution Engines
Hey Everyone, I understood this a little differently (well, I do have direct contact with Sumeeth given that we both work in the same lab). Allow me to try and explain his proposal. We are trying to optimise out instructions from a program (JIT-compiled OS Kernels or JIT-compiled Web Server code) during run time and we have this hypothesis that some of the decisions are best taken by the

Is samba right for me?
I am currently a college student looking for ways to prepare myself for any Server Administration job once I get out of college. I've been going back and worth between Freenode IRC channels (#linux and ##windows) trying to decide what to learn. On one hand, we have Windows Server 2008 R2, people in #linux keep on telling me to just go ahead and use it because "samba can't provide

RE: faxing to/from asterisk - new scripts
Roman: I created two bash scripts called Mail2Fax and Fax2Mail for use with the asterisk sever. They leverage the app_txfax and app_rxfax scripts, along with ast_fax. They make using these apps a lot easier, including being able to mail to fax@domain.ca for outgoing faxes and then extracting phone numbers from the subject line! (Makes it easy to use with Sendmail without complex rules /

Having problem getting Asterisk to work on CentOS 7
Some background information. I have used Debian with Asterisk for several years. Have encountered zero problems. I am now trying to setup an Asterisk on a CentOS7 box using VMWare Workstation. I am brand new to CentOS and RHEL so I may be missing something obvious. I am installing CentOS Minimal Install and Asterisk from Source. (I have installed Asterisk from Source on Debian hundreds of

Website callback
Hi, I have a website where customers enter their phone numbers to be called. I'd like them to have to put in information and 'schedule' a call. 1) Call Immediately 2) Call in the next _ minutes 3) Call me tomorrow, same time. So, Asterisk will pull two variables from this php websites, $phonenumber and $timetocall. $timetocall will need to be calculated as
