BLF call pickup on Linksys SPA932
Greetings list, We recently installed some Linksys SPA962 + SPA932 sidecars into a client's offices. The BLF functionality works fine, but call pickup using the BLF is something of an issue. Following the advice on voip-info.org, I configured part of their dialplan as follows: exten => _**2XX,1,Pickup(SIP/${EXTEN:2}) exten => _**2XX,n,Dial(SIP/${EXTEN:2},15,tw) exten =>

High volume BLF - Suggestions?
Hi, We have a user who is putting large call volumes through Asterisk, and wants to BLF monitor up to 90 extensions. We are struggling to find a handset that can keep up with Asterisk :) 1) Is there a handset that will do this? 2) Is there a different (standard) way to send BLF and allow directed pickups? 2a) Or even a handset specific way? Asterisk handles the BLF volume fine, even on quite

BLF/Call Pickup using SPA942, SPA962, SPA932
Hi all, There are a lot of posts around the web about my question; unfortunately I have not been able to get any of the solutions to work. I'm using Asterisk 1.6.2.8 under CentOS 5.5. I'm trying to get call pickup working for the secretaries that monitor their bosses' phones. The BLF and the speed dial works great on the Linksys phones. Call pickup is the problem. My features.conf

Asterisk 1.2.37 + BLF + ParkedCalls + SPA962
Greetings all. First off, thank you for your time on this. I have spent literally 12 hours searching every forum and article I can find, and I'm going cross-eyed, so I need to bother everyone with this. I am running * 1.2.37, and I am trying to get the hints working, so I can turn one of my SPA962's LED's red when someone parks a call. I have used Button #3 on my SPA962 to

Using a sidecar? Ideas?
I'm looking for some ideas of people who have setup a sidecar (eg: Aastra 560M). Obviously it's handy for BLF (to see who's on a call)...but what else? Anyone want to share interesting things they've done with a sidecar? -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Detecting read/write permissions
Hi I'm currently using a windows image processing application that regularly writes the user's image adjustments out to a 'sidecar' file in the same directory as the original image. When the original file is on a local disk this works fine but when the original image is on Samba share, the sidecars are not created. The application reports the following in its log: 2012-07-14

Snom360 Sidecar & Asterisk
We are looking to replace our existing Legacy PBX with Asterisk. Our receptionist currently has a light display for a certain extension when someone is on a call. When she needs to transfer she simply hits that button. Is it possible to use a snom360 + Sidecar to monitor 30 extensions and make transfers using the buttons? Does the Cisco 7960 expansion module work with asterisk? Thanks.

Snom 360 Hinting tricks
I was always puzzled by posts to the list about people having problems getting hints to work on a Snom, since I always seem to have no problem making it work. That is, until today when I tried to get a sidecar to work. All I could do was get a monitored extension light to light up continuously, regardless of state. Frustrating! Going back to my working dialplans where I got 1 or 2 lights working

Executive Assistant Guidance
Looking for two things: 1. Anyone that has dialplan logic for an executive assistant. My owners want their extensions to ring on her phone, and be very obvious to her which extension is ringing. They also want her to have presense. She's got Polycom IP 650 with sidecar, they have IP 550 phones. Thusfar I've got her registering to 4 extensions. Each extension is labeled with an

Busy Lamp Field SIP Phone
Does anyone have a recommendation for a good SIP phone with a busy lamp field? I need my operator to be able to see extension status for about 20 extensions and transfer via HOLD + extension button. I've got a pair of SNOM 360s with the sidecar, but I'm very disappointed with them. The buttons are cheap and rubbery like a Sipura 841, the handset cord is short and cheap, the audio quality

Wrong IP address error returned -- 64-bit CPU
I'm no programming wiz, so I need some hand-holding on this one... I have a couple of programs used to update my phone. First problem was that they showed the wrong IP address for my PC. This I fixed by editing the /etc/hosts file with the right IP. In order for the update to work, you must enter the IP address of your phone. Every time I do this, they come back with "invalid IP

Polycom Blf / Directed Pickup
Would anyone happen to have some examples of polycom configs, specifically the 650 with sidecar for blf. I have the asterisk side all configured since I've set up blf with other types of phones, but I'm missing the polycom side. I've put together a <mac>-directory.xml, and the sidecar now lists numbers as speed dials but does not subscribe to blf.

[VOIP-Users-Conference] Re: Opinions please: Polycom IP 430 vs 330?
Let me add another variable into the mix...what about the Linksys SPA-962? Good, bad or otherwise? The 32 button sidecar seems like a deal at $80 street price. Snom side car annoyance
Has anyone got this annoying sidecar to illuminate when users are on the phone? In my function key settings I have: Context: Active Type: Extension Number: <sip:4000@serve.address.com;user=phone> (4000 is the extension I want to see/dial on the key). I can press the key and it will dial the extension, it just won't illuminate when the user is on the phone or on DND Since I have

Receptionist Phones (was 3Com Phones)
Thanks for all the comments on the 3Com phones. Thankfully, there is a large number of phones out there to dig through looking for the right solution. What I have not been able to find, after spending all weekend looking, is a good solution for an attendant console. We have 2 receptionists that need to be able to view all 60+ phones (we could probably weed it down a bit if we had to,
