Asterisk 1.4 + Cisco 7970
Hi All, I recently received my Cisco 7970 and have it up and running with 8.0.4 firmware, with asterisk 1.4. Seems to function pretty great so far, aside from a few issues. Here is what I have noticed so far, anybody have any fixes for these issues? 1. Contrary to the forums and lists I've been reading - the phone indeed does register. The little registration animation stays on the screen

2.6 kernel ipsec and shorewall
I set up an ipsec/racoon vpn tunnel test environment. The gateway machines are 192.168.0.30 and 192.168.0.31 on the external adaptor and 10.0.1.1 and 10.0.2.1 internally. The test workstations are 10.0.1.10 and 10.0.2.10. The tunnel seems to be working as in 10.0.1.10 can talk to 10.0.2.10 an vice versa and they can both use the net via NAT, however 192.168.0.30 and 192.168.0.31 cannot directly

Xen rebooting Dom-0 machine with nmap
Ok, I''ve completely reinstalled Xen and I am still encountering the most curious problem. I set up a virtual network of eight domains: three are on a virtual DMZ network (10.0.1.0/24), four are on a virtual internal network (10.0.2.0/24), and a router connects the two. All the domains can ping each other and traceroute-ing between them shows the proper network structure (first hop:

[PATCH 0/2] Use link-local addresses when communicating between appliance and host (RHBZ#588763)
Couple of notes: (1) You may need to 'make clean' after applying this patch. There is some missing dep so it seems the appliance isn't fully rebuilt. (2) [Comment mainly directed to Matt] This is not a candidate to be automatically added to the stable 1.2 branch. It's far too large of a change for a stable release. Since this change may be required for V2V, please clone

Possible to run a tinc node in bridge-only mode?
Hi tinc users, I have two Tinc nodes (A, B) running on trusted computers. Between A and B there's no direct internet connection. So I have to set up the third node X to bridge them: [ A ] ======= [ X ] ======= [ B ] trusted untrusted trusted X is on a cloud service like AWS thus it's on an untrusted third party. Once it's is compromised the attacker can access to the

Samba as AD travails
Many (many) hours later, I'm finally throwing in the towel and seeking help. I have read everything I can find on the internet to no avail to get past my issues. I have to say, I'm very disappointed in the general quality and fragmentation of information on this topic. Samba isn't a turn-key solution as an AD by any stretch of the imagination. I've run the gamut so far with
