Zaptel ztdummy module causes playback to fail
I'm using asterisk 1.4.11 and Zaptel version 1.4.5.1 with kernel 2.6.22. I have the ztdummy module loaded, which is using zaptel and rtc. When the ztdummy module is loaded, sounds are not heard when using the asterisk "background" command. When the ztdummy module is unloaded, which also removes zaptel and rtc, sounds are heard. I've also tested this under kernel 2.6.21 with the

Zaptel timer on Intel Dual Core servers
Friends, I'm having severe problems with zaptel timers on Intel Dual Core systems with SMP code enabled. Ztdummy, zaptel connected to Digium TDM or PRI cards - all ends up with large timer probems - zttest going down to 50% accuracy on some systems, even to -1 on ztdummy systems and voice quality is no more. A restart is the only way to get back to a working system. We're only

Poor gsm playback
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I've have installed a new Asterisk 1.4.15 system after having previously used a 1.2 CVS head (from 10 Sep 2005). Both systems are pentiums though the newer one is actually a slower processor. On the new system, playback of gsm files is noticeably poorer (voice quality is flakely) on any connected phone (sip or isdn, internal or external).

voicemail playback problem
My users are reporting that some voicemail messages are being cut off in the middle of being played back. The recordings are OK (they play fine when forwarded to e-mail, and they can often be accessed OK during a later call to voicemail). I found nothing in the archives on this -- ideas anyone? ztdummy, zttest
Hello, Today we setted up a server that needs to use MeetMe but doesn't have any Zap hardware. So we need to use ztdummy (at least, this was our idea). Rarely: zttest is not working at all (100% bad, using zttest -v doesn't give anything, etc.). Of course, after load ztdummy, there isn't any background or anything. It is the same kernel (Debian Etch default kernel, 2.6.18) than

Voicemail playback NEWEST first vs. OLDEST first
Is there a way to make the asterisk voicemail app play back messages in NEWEST FIRST order, instead of OLDEST FIRST? I see the situation repeatedly where someone needs to dip into their voicemail archive to get something from a recently saved voicemail message, and they have to slog through lots of irrelevant stuff to get there. I have seen this question come up previously on this list without

Voicemail greeting playback issues?
Hey all I have been beating on this all weekend long. Any feed back would be appreciated. We stood up a 11.6 system. We tested everything we could think of. We moved over to it and all seemed to be working good than a customer told us that they were not hearing our vociemail greetings. When we call into the system and it drops to voicemail we just get a beep no greeting played. We checked

No sound from playback and voicemail
Hello, I have a strange situation: I can talk to other SIP phones and via ISDN to the outside, but I don't hear playbacks or the voicemail messages. Asterisk show in the cli, that the corresponding files are played, but I hear nothing at all. Here is as simple example: [monkeys] ??? exten => 99,1,ANSWER() ??? exten => 99,2,PLAYBACK(tt-monkeys) ??? exten => 99,3,HANGUP() The phone

Voicemail missing playback options
According to my reading, Asterisk voicemail should have a playback option when I record my busy and unattended messages... it doesn't... Did I do something wrong... i.e. make an improper config selection, compile incorrectly, ...?

* 1.0.9 Voicemail record name does not playback in Directory()
On * 1.0.9 User logs into voicemail, dials Option Zero, then Option Three. Records name, accepts the recording. greet.wav is generated in the user's mailbox. It plays back fine. The Directory app still spells out his name! What am I missing?

Asterisk and Xen
Hey All, I've been working on trying to get asterisk to play nice under Xen and I've run into a bit of a road block. I'm not using any hardware stuff only ztdummy. First I had issues getting ztdummy to work but that was solved by recompiling the xenU kernel to have CONFIG_CRC_CCITT=y which it was missing. Now ztdummy is seen fine in the virtual machine though when I run
