Chan_SCCP vs. Chan_Skinny
Lacy's response in the thread 'Why does everyone seem to dislike *now?', has a small bit that caught my eye. Chan_Skinny made a lot of progress between 1.2 and 1.4, and even more in the later 1.4.X releases. I am curious as to which features/functions that chan_skinny might be lacking compared to chan_sccp. We (the community) now have a small, but active, group of volunteers

Built-In Transfer Questions
I've read the Wiki on using asterisk's built-in transfer options (#8 and #6). They work fine but how does one cancle an attended transfer? Example: I have person on phone, I hit #6 to being att-transfer. I enter Sally's extension. I let it ring for a few seconds. Sally never picks up but her voicemail does. How do I hangup her voicemail and resume the previous call? The example on the

Setup speed dials on Cisco 7921
I've added lines like this: speeddial = 123,test speeddial = 260,Bob in the [device] section for my 7921, but the speed dials do NOT appear on the menu (click right from the main screen). Am I missing something obvious here? Thanks MD -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

chan_sccp new release
http://chan-sccp.berlios.de/ 20050713 ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/chan-sccp/chan_sccp-20050713.tar.bz2 I didn't have a spare 7960 to use this week, so maybe some line issue is still present. - fixed a memory leak on database updates (dnd, cfwd*) - fixed old memory leak on unload (now unload chan_sccp.so and load chan_sccp.so work. It does reload the config when asterisk is running) - socket

chan_sccp crashes Asterisk on startup
Say there! This is a new Asterisk install on Fedora; I downloaded and installed Asterisk 1.2.1 and it runs fine. I downloaded the 20051217 version of chan_sccp, compiled and it installs ok. When I start Asterisk, it dies on startup at the activation/recognition of the chan_sccp module... A snippit from the startup: Asterisk Dynamic Loader Starting: [res_musiconhold.so] => (Music On Hold

Cisco 7961 + 7914, speeddials, BLF & Asterisk 1.4?
Hi, Does anyone have any experience with a Cisco 7961 + 7914 Operator Console setup and speeddials/BLF on Asterisk 1.4? Would appreciate feedback if this works reliably. I have a 7961 on skinny registering on an 1.4.19 box with chan_sccp and speeddials work fine so that part seems ok. I have no experience with the BLF part. >From googling around it seems that BLF on the 7914 only works with

Asterisk + Cisco 7920 + chan_sccp or chan_skinny
Greetings, I have seen a few postings in the past regarding the interop of Asterisk and the Cisco 7920 WiFi phone. To date, I have not seen a definitive method to getting the phone working. Assuming someone has this actually working, can that person step up and answer these questions. 1) What Channel is it working with (chan_skinny or chan_sccp)? 2) If code was used that is not a part of a

Realtime question
Hello all, I was wondering if anyone has had much experience with Realtime Asterisk. I like the ability to setup my extensions and voicemail boxes in MySQL, but I have a huge worry. What if MySQL crashes. I played with rtcachefriends, but can't seem to find a way to have asterisk store the extension information to ensure the phones will continue to work even if MySQL has a hiccup. Any

Cisco 7960 Skinny calling SIP phone

When I call a SIP softphone extension on my network the call is made and I can answering it. However no voice is heard over the call. When I debug Skinny on the console after the call has connected I see the following messag: Recieved Alarm

chan-sccp problem, phone is not registering
Hi list! I'm trying to configure the Kirk IP 600 wireless (DECT) system. The wireless phones are regular DECT phones, the Kirk IP 600 is doing the voip part by registering/gatewaying the phones to a callmanager server. The phones do not work and I think the problem is that they do not register at asterisk but I'm not sure because I don't understand a thing of the sccp/skinny

Cisco 7970 with skinny on * 1.4.1
Evnin' (o; As chan_sccp is pretty much dead, doesn't compile on FBSD anyway and isn't supported on * 1.4.x I tried going with chan_skinny... The Cisco 7970 registers and is being acknowledged by * but that's it... I see no lines on the 7970 display configured and it is not reachable or it can't make any outboudn calls... Help w/ Asterisk Cisco IP phone and SCCP
I have a new asterisk installation (1.4.2) that is working fine with SIP. Now I'm trying to add 2 cisco ip phones (7960) running SCCP (latest chan_sccp). I have the phones booted, and the tftp directory all setup, etc. But the phones do not quite work right. When I lift the handset I only get a dial-tone 1 out of 5 or so times I try, though hitting the speaker button works. I can dial

Fast Busy Followup
So I might have a bit of a more narrow question from my earlier one. Previous, I had been wondering what would cause a phone dialing into a DID that connects to the asterisk box to get a fast busy. I've noticed the following message: chan_zap.c: Ring requested on unconfigured channel 0/1 span 2 Any idea what would give me this error? And would this cause a fast busy? Thanks again everyone

WiFi Phones (was Looking for Wireless Heaset for Polycom 501)
Martin: I had seen your other post and sent you a message off-list, but I never got a response. What do you feel is the most lacking that does not make it ready for a production enviroment. - I've been using a SIP deskphone in my office and usually some sort of ATA at my house, both as the primary phone. I've also had mobile phones from almost every carrier. Each one of these devices
