How to properly handle incoming SIP and IAX calls, so user can call back and how to properly make outgoing sip/iax calls through Asterisk ?
Hi, I'm aware that incoming and outgoing calls are going fine when isdn channels are involved - caller id properly identifies calling party, so user can call back.... But how to properly handle this for iax, sip calls.... I have few questions : - BTW, what to type for instance in remote firefly to make standalone calls to Asterisk default context or particular extension ? - If I receive

One way speech from H.323 incoming calls, but outgoing calls are OK.
Hi everyone I have successfully compiled and installed OH323 support (finally) into my Asterisk. I want to connect the Asterisk server to our Alcatel OmniPCX Office (OXO) PABX, which has an internal H.323 gateway. I have created the correct dialplans in Asterisk and same in OXO. The OXO only supports G711a G711u G729 and G723.1 codecs. When I call from a SIP phone to OXO using my

Outgoing calls but no incoming calls with X100P
Hi all, I have a problem with my asterisk box and an X100P FXO card. I am able to place outgoing calls from my SIP phone (Cisco 7940) to any external number using my PSTN line, but when I call my PSTN line from my cell phone, the Cisco doesn't ring (and no message appears in the Asterisk CLI). Here are my config files: zaptel.conf fxsks=1 loadzone = be defaultzone = be

Echo on incoming calls (PRI->SIP) but not on outgoing (SIP->PRI)
Hello all! We have an E400P on a dual Xeon box with four EuroISDN PRI to the PSTN and Cisco ATA-186 as SIP UA. We experience very large amount of echo (on -some- calls) when we're doing PRI->SIP calls but not when doing SIP->PRI calls. We don't think the problem is IP latency related (When calls are made PRI->*->PRI we still experience the echo). What do you think? Regards

"Semi-Trusted" SSH-Keys that also require PAM login
Hello all, in order to connect to my SSH servers from untrusted devices like company computers or my smartphone, I set up 2FA with google-authenticator hooked into PAM. However, this is not really 2FA at least for the smartphone, since I use the same device for generating the TANs and it is also at least inconvenient to always require a new TAN for each connection. I do not want to solely rely

OpenSSH-Client without reverse tunnel ability
Good day! A few weeks ago, we had a security breach in the company I'm working for, because employees used "ssh -R" to expose systems from our internal network to some SSH server in the outer world. Of course, this is a breach of our internal security policy, but lead us to wonder, whether there is a technical solution to prevent our users from creating SSH-reverse-tunnels. After

Is this a good solution? i really don't know, so what's the global thinking about this. -- Information Systems

TDM2400P dial tone is not present on phones, but the phone ring with incoming calls
Hi, I have a problem with TDM2400P card. The card is detected ok, I can make a call but only with pulse dialing (not tone dialing) without hear sounds from the headset. When I receive a call, I can to establish a communication, but without hear sounds from the headset. When I dial any phone key, I can hear dtmf tone. I'm using Elastix 1.5.2. These are my configuration files:

Hardware for PBX with 4 incoming/outgoing lines and 20 phones
Hi I am interested in setting up an Asterisk PBX in my office with digium hardware, and I just have a few questions in regards to what I would need. It is my understanding that an FXO card is used to interface with an incoming/outgoing phone line, and an FXS card is used for interfacing with a phone within the system. Currently we have 4 incoming/outgoing phone lines and would like to have

Multiple Signatures on SSH-Hostkeys
Hello, OpenSSH-wizards. In our company, we have looked into SSH-HostKey-signing in order to realize automated access without the need to accept the server's hostkey, manually. I got it to work with the HostCertificate-directive inside the sshd_config. Now, I was wondering whether it is possible to have multiple signatures, so I can, for example, sign the hostkey once with a

[LLVMdev] Odd PPC inline asm constraint
Peter, Thanks! Do you happen to know where this needs to be changed in clang or LLVM. The code that actually interprets the constraints, generically, is in CodeGen/SelectionDAG/TargetLowering.cpp, is clang relying on that code, or is there some frontend code in clang itself that is failing to initially interpret the string? If it is the code in TargetLowering, then I don't see any support

"Semi-Trusted" SSH-Keys that also require PAM login
Hello Damien, Brian and all, thanks for the suggestions. I actually had not considered host-based authentication and looked it up. As I understand from my first quick reading, I would need to specify the clients which are allowed to use host-based auth on the server with a DNS name or an IP, which would not work for a client behind a CG NAT or in a cellular network. Or did I get this wrong?
