RE: SOLVED - T1 PRI not announce "this is long distance call, please add 1 for this call..."
Thanks, Henry. It is very helpful for me. I also deleted the DIAL option "r" in our dial out trunk which fixed the problem. Dial command option r: Generate a ringing tone for the calling party, passing no audio from the called channel(s) until one answers. Without this option, Asterisk will generate ring tones automatically where it is appropriate to do so; however, "r" will

update - 512 Simultaneous Calls with Digital Recording
Hi All, In previous mail lists, people talked about a solution to record large amount of simultaneous calls. And then it seems that RAM disk solution was the best choice due to the I/O bottleneck of Hard disk (System). Please find the previous discussion as follows: http://lists.digium.com/pipermail/asterisk-users/2005-October/120930.htm l

1.2.9.1 SIP/Local/Queue behaviours weird
Hi, Does any one experience that SIP phone to SIP phone (Polycom phone) calls can't hear each other, but Monitor application records both end's voices. It also happens in group pickup calls. Zap calls to queue (Local channel) also experience this problem (sometimes, our SIP phone can't hear any voice from incoming Zap calls when pickup, sometimes this happens after 10-50

Asterisk: T1 hunt group setup
Hello everyone, I'm sure someone had an experience arranging hunt-group setup for incoming calls on T1 PRI channels of Digium TE110P card. For instance, I have main DID channel associated with number (555) 222 0001. And I have whole bunch of other DID channels on same T1 card like (555) 222 0090, (555) 222 0091, (555) 222 0093. My goal is when a call comes to the main number which is

No compatible codecs, not accepting this offer! - after upgrading to 1.8.11
Hi, I've upgraded my asterisk 1.4 to the version 1.8.11. After making some adjustments to the configuration files to port it to the new version, calls between registered phones in asterisk, work fine, but inbound calls coming from the SIP trunk I have with a telco to asterisk, don't work anymore. I don't know why!... This is the SDP portion that comes in the INVITE messages of calls

Asterisk with SMS
Hi all, I am trying to setup the SMS of Asterisk. I have a Siemens SMS enable fixed phone which connects to my Asterisk through PSTN. Currently, I can use my fixed phone to edit and send messages to the Asterisk. However, I cannot make my Asterisk to send messages to the fixed phone. The SMS command displays TX and RX records, hang for a while and then stops with non-zero exits. I read

Wine and ALSA
I am having trouble getting wine to work with my sound. When I use winecfg it can not autodetect the right settings, and it only opens a control device, no output device: Code: hammertime boxfire # lsof /dev/snd/* COMMAND PID USER FD TYPE DEVICE SIZE NODE NAME winecfg.e 9086 boxfire 10u CHR 116,32 5684 /dev/snd/controlC1 explorer. 9108 boxfire 10u CHR 116,32 5684

libvirtd vs XDG_RUNTIME_DIR
I ran into an odd problem today. I wanted to share it here in the hopes of maybe saving someone else some lost time. When you run libvirtd as an unprivileged user (e.g., if you target qemu:///session from a non-root account), then libvirt will open a unix domain socket in one of two places: - If XDG_RUNTIME_DIR is defined, then inside $XDG_RUNTIME_DIR/libvirt/libvirt-sock - If

Shielding of T1/E1 cables WAS RE: Pinouts for T1/E1 crossover cable WAS "RE: what cable to connect a legacy PBX to a TE410P ?"
My telco used cat5 as well for the demarc to CPE. It's also with noting that many channel banks, such as my Atlas, and zapata.conf itself also have parameters to allow you to tune the gains to compensate for cable signal loss. I've never had to touch them, and my CPE is about 300 feet from the PRI demarc (with an ordinary Cat5 cable connecting them)

Mallows' distance or Earth Mover's distance in R?
Hi I am looking for an implementation (or alternative to) Mallow's distance or the Earth Mover's distance to compare distributions or unnormalized distributions (signatures). Is there an implementation in R or can somebody recommend an alternative? Thanks Rainer -- Rainer M. Krug, PhD (Conservation Ecology, SUN), MSc (Conservation Biology, UCT), Dipl. Phys. Debug info interacting with optimization and code generation
In theory, compiler should generate bit-identical code with and without debug info. I.e. # clang -c -O2 -g a.cc -o a.g.o # clang -c -O2 -g0 a.cc -o a.g0.o # strip a.g.o a.g0.o # diff a.g.o a.g0.o The diff should find two binaries identical. For brevity, in the rest of the mail, I'll refer to this requirement as "codegen consistency" (any better name?) Unfortunately, LLVM does not
