AEL2
Being rather new to Asterisk I was wondering what the current status of AEL2 is? I see reference to it back in January but that was many versions ago. Is it in the current code? Dial Plan rules
Does it matter if you use upper or lowercase rules - I.E. - "x" vs. "X" or mix them? Not that I would do that as a rule but sometimes you make mistakes! PSTN outgoing DTMF vs. transfer Problem
Recently started using * and really am having fun. One problem I encountered... I am using an SPA-3000 3.1.10d When I have transfer enabled - 'T' in the dial string I cannot reliably send DTMF keys to a bank, voicemail, or other service requiring tones. If I disable (remove transfer option) from the dial string all is fine. I would like to be able to use features but the ability to have

TTS engine query
Not being very happy with festival I would like ro get a better TTS engine. I looked at the listings at: http://www.voip-info.org/tiki-index.php?page=Asterisk+sound+files+international but I would like to get user input on suggested packages for Linux. Caller stuck in MoH after being answered by a phone that was forwarded to.
Can anyone shed some light on what happened? Asterisk 1.2.1 with Zaptel 1.2.1 Here is what I know happened: A call came into our main number and was answered Asterisk set the monitor CALLFILENAME and then started monitor. The call was directed to a context called "open" where all calls go during business hours. The dial plan has a Answer() again, and then played a message (custom/1)

Local vs. toll Dial Plan
Ok asked this earlier with no response so I will phrase it a different way. I am sure someone had to deal with this and there is a "best way." I want to let Asterisk make the decision on best path based on local exchange - xxx-yyy - where xxx is one of my local area codes and xxx is exchange designator. The problem is that the list is rather large. Maybe 50-100. The idea is that I can

DTMF feedthru again...
Ok trying this again... is there anyone using the SPA-3000 with * ???? I am not sure if this is a specific problem to it or not. This is something I really need to fix!!! When dialing out using * interfaced to an SPA-3000, fxs, fxo, I cannot access (reliably) DTMF menus at the called party, after call completion. Dialing DTMF is fine. I checked by calling myself. Listening to either end on a

caller getting cut off intermittently
I have recently moved our asterisk server from our LAN to a Debian Lenny server (Asterisk 1.4.21.2~dfsg-3 ) with a public IP outside our network. Our phones are behind a natted firewall. An ITSP provides a PSTN to SIP termination for incoming calls Public ITSP -->Asterisk server-->Natted firewall-->extension (192.168.1.x) Everything works fine (incoming/outgoing audio etc.) except

macro error "exited non-zero"
On this macro I keep getting exited non-zero on s,3, but s,3 is doing what it is suppose to do but the macro stops. Is there a way to make a macro ignore errors and continue to s,4? I have the lattes ver of sox 12.17.4. Also if I just run this line from the command line I don't get an error. [root@redhat monitor]# sox in.wav in-rev.wav reverse [root@redhat monitor]# [macro-record-cleanup]

No music on hold?
Hi all, I've got Asterisk 1.2.10 up and running on Debian using the back ports. I noticed that it didn't come with mpg123 or depend on it and I believe I read somewhere that asterisk now handles it's own mp3 playback? Is this true? If so I must have a problem, because I hear no music when putting someone on hold. When looking at the console when putting someone on hold, I see

call recording and CDR "feature" discovered?
Hi Folks, I've been playing with call recording for our support department which was kinda going ok until I spotted something odd in the CDR. None of the support calls are being entered into the CDR properly. I'm using mysql as the back end and Areski's web based front end and all was going fine. The problem seems to be that the CDR doesn't get populated with the destination

Help - Received response: "Forbidden" from'"Unknown"
I did a NoOp and see what the callerid was and when coming from the SIP Ext->Voip it is set to the Extension Number of the SIP Extension (as you would expect). When coming from the Panasonic the CallerID is blank, I tried setting it to nothing again, and I tried setting it to the callerid of the voip provider, a sip extension id, the extension number on the Panasonic side, the zap channel
