SMS & Grandstream ATA-286
I'ld like to test SMSes between Asterisk and an analog phone on a GS-ATA-286 (SIP). I have spent many hours trying any exemple on voip-info or mailing-list, but no message got sent from the analog phone. My goal, at now, is to send SMSes locally from and to Asterisk. Does anyone have a working configuration ?

recommendations for SMS/EMS/MMS software simulation?
perhaps an open-ended request, but i'm looking for (if it even exists) some centos 5.4 software that will let me completely simulate the sending and reception of MMS messages on a local network which (AFAICT) would require the simulation of the MMS centre as well (MMSC). so far, i've run across (yum-installable) gammu and i'm just starting to take a look at it. but if anyone out

Asterisk as SMSC to GSM-Phones
Hello all, i today have searched on the internet about a solution to let asterisk act as a SMSC (Short MessageServiceCentre) to deliver SMSes directly to GSM Phones. I only have found some cases with use of an extern SMSC (i.e. by the Mobile Net Provider) Is there a possibillity to do that, or ist asterisk only able to send SMS to analog phones? Do you have any idea or hint for me? Thanks

Occasional SMS problem
Hi, I am using asterisk's SMS functionality for sending messages. Most of the time it works without problems (as in situation 1) but sometimes something seems to go wrong with the transmission (as in situation 2). I am using "Deutsche Telekom", Germany's main TELCO, so I suppose the problem must be on my end. Can anybody tell me what is going on or how I could narrow down

queue name too long when sending sms over 32 chars
Hi everyone, I think asterisk is really great, but since I started sending sms using * I've some troubles with it! I setup everything as it is described at voip-info.org (http://www.voip-info.org/tiki-index.php?page=Asterisk%20cmd%20Sms) and it really works: I can send SMS - as long as they are shorter than 32 characters. btw I'm living in Germany and therefore I send my SMS via T-Com

Rsync: Re: patch to enable faster mirroring of large filesyst ems
In my particular case, it is reasonable to assume that the size and timestamp will change when the file is updated. (We are looking at it as a patching mechanism.) Right now it's actually using update time only, I should modify it to check the file size as well. Is there a way you could query your database to tell you which extents have data that has been modified within a certain timeframe?

Asterisk as SMS Service Center
Hello! Is it possible to run Asterisk as a SMS Service Center and does it work over a directly connected ISDN (CAPI) interface card? Did anyone already use Asterisk for that? Roland Zagler mailto:r.zagler@fog.at @fog smart partners

Monitoring SIP Service (Jai Rangi)
Interesting approach. What we've done is to write an app that runs on a separate machine that simply does some asterisk -rx calls to the running Asterisk instance via an SSH library and then evaluate the string returned. For example, to monitor our registered SIP service providers, we compare the output for the sip show registry CLI command when the system is in the correct state, to the

Asterisk GOIP Outgoing Callerid not working
Hello I have a simple 1 channel goip gateway (http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/GoIP). The incoming and outgoing calls work with Asterisk except the caller ID for the outgoing calls. I think I have exhausted all possible options regarding setting a caller ID and it still doesn't work. The recipients will get "private number". The incomings caller ids are work just fine. exten

Not in any practical way that I know of. It's not normally a major hassle for us since rsync is used for a central backup that occurs on a large enough time scale that the timestamp does normally change

How to send SMS to Gigaset phones ?
Hi, Searching this list archives, I couldn't find a definitive answer to my question : how to send SMS to Gigaset phones ? My goal is to send Alert SMS such as "This phone system will be stopped in 5mn for maintenance" to every terminal (SIP phones and Gigaset DECT phones). (So at the moment, I'm not looking for way to send SMS from handsets). I could successfully send 1 short

UTStarcom F1000 - WLAN connection unreliable
Hi list, I bought two UTStarcom F1000 phones, pre-equipped with the latest firmware, including WPA support. Those are configured to register to an asterisk server on the internet (not LAN), and registration works. Calling and being called also, with transfer and all bells and whistles. After a few minutes up to 5 hours (varies widely), the display tells me that an Accesspoint is not available

Rsync: Re: patch to enable faster mirroring of large filesyst ems
I, too, was disappointed with rsync's performance when no changes were required (23 minutes to verify that a system of about 3200 files was identical). I wrote a little client/server python app which does the verification, and then hands rsync the list of files to update. This reduced the optimal case compare time to under 30 seconds. Here's what it does, and forgive me if these sound
