FXO Cards vs. Channel bank with T1
Is there any advantage of getting a T1 card with a channel bank over 2-3 FXO cards ? Thanks. Dovid -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL: http://lists.digium.com/pipermail/asterisk-users/attachments/20061031/0f74ec67/attachment.htm

Mixed FXO and FXS on one Adtran, T1 card?
Can I configure an Adtran channel bank with a mixture of FXS and FXO cards and have them come into a single T100P T1 card? It seems like this would be a cheaper solution than trying to load a bunch of PCI cards into a PC. Also, when shopping for an Adtran (on ebay) - what do I need to watch out for as far as interfaces or capabilities to make sure that it works with a Digium card?

loop start vs. kewl start for T1 interface
Is there a doc somewhere that explains when to use loop start vs. kewl start in certain situations? I've seen in a lot of posts that most people just say 'use kewl start', but nobody really explains why. It seems that if kewl start should be used 100% of the time then why is there even an option for loop start? After some research, it seems like there are 4 main loop start setup

Solution for 12 to 16 FXO to asterisk connection
Hi, today a customer asked how to use asterisk with 12 to 16 FXO ports. I can use a channel bank with 16 FXO ports and connect the channel bank with a T1 cable to a T1 card in the Asterisk Server. Asterisk will then send the calls to the Voip provider over the internet. However a 16 fxo port channel bank is about USD 1500 + a t1 card USD 500 + a USD 1000 computer = 3 thousand us dollars + my

Nortel digital FXO channel bank? Exists?
We have a client with a Nortel PBX with digital phone sets. Due to T1 problems (old firmware), we are interested in trying a FXO channel bank. Is there a channel bank (or equivalent) which emulates Meridian digital phone sets? In order words, an FXO channel bank that's Meridian digital? telco access ?s -- PRI, T1, POTS?
Hi guys, I'm new to the telco game and still pretty new to Asterisk, although I've been using it for a couple of months now and like most of what I see. At my office, we've got a small two extension setup w/ two Digium cards for a single FXO line and three FXS extensions, but I'm also working on designing a larger installation for a customer which will involve ~16 analog

Can Asterisk provide Answer Supervision signalling to a channel b ank via T1?
I have an older Newbridge Mainstreet 3624 upon which I'm terminating some analog DID lines. They are effectively loop-start trunks with battery supplied by me (ie. FXO) and consumed by the serving central office. One major part of DID is the requirement for providing Answer Supervision in the form of battery polarity reversal on the analog trunks. Without it wierd things start happening, like

Still looking for small fxo sip gateway
I've been looking around for a small external sip fxo gateway, sending emails to possible vendors, etc, and can not seem to come up with anything that fits. Suggestions anyone? (No channel bank & T1 card suggestions, please. I've also just completed an eval of the Mediatrix 1204 which does not support the requirements.) The market between two fxo pstn lines (pair of x100p's) and

T1 passthrough/middleman
Is it possible to act as a middle man on a T1 line? My installation currently has an aging Inter-Tel Axxess box with a T1 coming in (16 in, 8 out). Rather than adding and replacing phones and cards as they die, I would like to slowly migrate to a asterisk SIP installation. I want to take the incoming T1 line, use any available outgoing lines for outgoing SIP, intercept any incoming lines and

Echo: X100P vs. Cisco FXO cards
I get echo on my X100P for about 15 seconds then it disappears. Believe me, when I get a chance I'm going to tweak it since my wife nags me about it. I converted my house over to *. My setup: Compaq Deskpro EN SFF P3 500 Dual NIC for real IP and internal IP X100P Card for PSTN. Cisco ATA186 (two cordless phones for the old lady) Cisco 7960 Phone Cisco 2621 w/ 2 FXO's and 2 FXS (Fax is

12 FXO ports into Asterisk
I have a client that has 10 POTS lines incoming. There is no other option for lines here. I have 3 options I can see: 1. 3 TDM400 cards 2. An external SIP/FXO gateway 3. A T1 card plus a channel bank. Does anyone have any thoughts on these 3 or suggestions on keeping the cost down? -Darren

[Fwd: Re: Adit 600 channel bank in UK setting]
Peter - 40 phones and only 3 PSTN trunks?. I would recommend at least 2 BRIs for this. If you have ISDN you can also get DDI to the extensions.I would strongly recommend abandoning the analogue PSTN lines and using ISDN. The setup pain you will go through will be significantly less, combined with better audio, more features (like DDI numbers!) and much more robust connections. You should look

TE405P + Adit 600 and FXO module - should this work?
Folks, I'm experimenting with bringing multiple (8) analog lines from our local telco into a Carrier Access ADIT 600 channel bank with an FXO module, then having this talk to Asterisk via the T1 TDM controller on the ADIT and a TE405P card. I don't know if this will work well (ie: give me decent echo cancellation, call disconnect supervision, caller ID etc) but I haven't had much

Rhino T1 and 4-port FXO cards
Just saw these new Asterisk compatible cards at Rhino's homepage. Anyone has experience with these babes? http://www.rhinoequipment.com/index.html http://www.rhinoequipment.com/t1card.html The 4-port FXO looks interesting. Looks like a very clean design. Leo

The Phantom Call.. T1 card too
I've had the same thing happen, only on the single port T1 card and a channel bank, and one of the FXO channels also having a phone attached elsewhere... I just wound up putting that channel in a different context and running Exten => s,1,Hangup (I'm just using the line for outbound dialing) -----Original Message----- From: asterisk-users-admin@lists.digium.com

Static noise and server locked when using two 4FXO tdm400p pci cards
Hello all We have tested for a mounth or two an asterisk PBX using one T1 channel bank with 24 fxs and one TDM400P digium card with 4 FXO modules. This worked with minor problems, the most notorious being some sporadic static noice or failure in the first FXO module on the wildcard. Now we have a client with 12 pstn lines and 48 extensions and we are trying to deploy an Asterisk PBX server

was FXO cards
Hey guys, appreciate the input. Here are some thoughts. ADSI phones are out of the question. This is a business environment, I can't worry about my employees not knowing how to forward calls, answer calls when away from the multiline phone, and no ADSI phone will handle multiple lines that I have found. I would love to put 6 X100P cards in a case and run asterisk on it. but... I

Channel Bank Newbie Problem
Hi all I'm trying to configure a TE410P in Europe with three E1s and a T1 channel bank (already bought in the US) to receive and make calls through *. I managed to get the E1s to work, but I'm having trouble with the channel bank (a Rhino). I have tried the bank in spans 1 and 4 changing jumpers in the card (always with no PRI connected, as I have no PRI where I'm testing now,

E1 -> T1 native bridging for fax, will it work?
Hi list! The stability of * with fax (or the lack of it) is causing me headaches. To solve it, I was thinking to put a TE205P card in the * box, connect the E1 pri on one port and a channelbank (I was thinking of the Rhino) on the other port in T1 mode. (Has anyone tried this??) The TE205P supports channel bridging which sounded like the ideal (but not cheap) solution when combined with a

Two zaptel T1 cards: no clock from one
List, I have a TE410P (T1 mode, all PRI) and a T100P (fxoks, for fxs channel bank). I cannot seem to get the T100P to send any clock to the channel bank. I prefer that it use the same clock source as the TE410P, but it doesn't matter if it's not in sync just as long as it's there. The TE410P is configured 3x pri_cpe, 1x pri_net. The three cpe go to XO Sonus switch, the net to
