Asterisk Interface to propriotary system and GPL
Hi All, I am wondering if I will be breaking the GPL, if I write for example, a channel driver or make some modifications to the astrisk source code, to interface at RUN TIME, through sockets, with a proprietary system. Eg. 1. I write chan_xxx + modify asterisk source (make changes + new code publicly available) 2. chan_xxx supports hardware by XXX Corp. 3, XXX Corps interface is

what are the elements of a good asterisk setup?
Good day! so I've inherited an Asterisk PBX setup and it's busting my ass. Since the setup wasn't document and is not running on our standard operating environment I have to say it is an ad-hoc / experiment which has become critical infrastructure for the company and is now considered a risk. Because of this there is a need to rebuild and (this time) properly document the

permissions modified on shared excel files
Having difficulty with samba & permissions being changed when windows clients save files. Initially files may be shared 0774 (e.g. some excel file) after it is opened and saved by a windows client the permissions are 0744. Thus the next access by a group user cannot write the file. No mask options are specified in the smb.conf so all defaults are being used. Is there a reason why the

sip to h323 ... direct RTP?
Hi, Thanks to those who hinted on the SIP/H323/Skinny capabilities of asterisk ... I am starting to like this app! :D Now, I successfully managed to bridge SIP to H323 (i don't have skinny phones here). Just a question: Is it possible to have Asterisk "just" as a signalling proxy? i have a flat test network, and i would like the RTP streams to be sent directly end to end (sip phone

signing_good: BAD SIG: seq 1 & SMB Signature verification failed on incoming packet!
When winbind is started I get the following log messages: signing_good: BAD SIG: seq 1 SMB Signature verification failed on incoming packet! After extensive googling the only reference I find is that my kerberos might be too old. (using krb 1.2.4). Can someone confirm is this a bug in kerberos or a bug in samba. If the later is there a workaround or do I have to upgrade to new kerberos?

Installation of Unicall for MFC/R2
Hi, Anyone there could figure me out on how to install my unicall. I followed the instruction below in the stated site at; http://soft-switch.org/unicall/installing-mfcr2.html. Questions: 1. On what directory/folder should I copy the chan_unicall.c, channels_makefile.patch? 2. On what directory/folder should I command patch < channels_makefile.patch? 3. On what directory/folder should I

Dutch Number for Inbound
A friend of mine just sent me this email - he is looking for an IAX inbound service in Holland - any thoughts? Voip info only has Nadiz which seems to be SIP only. Hi Dean, I need a Dutch number with IAX support. Do you have any leads in that direction? It's been difficult for me to figure it out -- especially since most of their sites seem to be in Dutch... Psst... Top secret information: Codename Pineapple
Friends in the Asterisk community, I've been talking for years about the new version of the SIP channel. I've been trying to get funding and get going. Well, the funding part remains to be handled, but I have other news - if you kan keep it to yourself. ...I've began coding. Finally. With a happy smile on my face I removed "pedantic=yes" the other day. After years of

Dovecot vs MBox
I'm still in the "what's wrong" stage of figuring out what's going on. But I've got a mail user who isn't getting new messages. Postfix accepts it and drops it in the users mbox. [This is verified. If I tail the Mbox, I can see the new messages.] "Mail" will see the messages too. But dovecot doesn't seem to know they exist. I don't think the MBox

what are the elements of a good asterisk set up?
I have used a channel bank to mux together BRI's and partial PRI's to a single PRI to avoid the goofyness of chan_capi. The focus of Asterisk support is geared to PRI's, it seems. -----Original Message----- From: Avi Miller [mailto:avi.miller@squiz.net] Sent: Thursday, June 15, 2006 7:50 PM To: Asterisk Users Mailing List - Non-Commercial Discussion Subject: Re: [Asterisk-Users] what

Codename Pineapple - Chan_sip3 - what's the status?
Friends, I have gotten a few questions lately on the status on the Codename Pineapple project, the project that hopefully will produce a more stable and SIP compliant SIP stack for Asterisk. Due to lack of funding, it's postponed until further notice. I have a few sponsors, but not enough to be able to dedicate time to work on it. And since Digium hasn't made up their minds after

Very Slow Gower Similarity Function
Hello, I am a relatively new user of R. I have written a basic function to calculate the Gower similarity function. I was motivated to do so partly as an excercise in learning R, and partly because the existing option (vegdist in the vegan package) does not accept missing values. I think I have succeeded - my function gives me the correct values. However, now that I'm starting to use it with

ext3 filesystem with directory errors, e2fsck claims to be error free.
I have a bit of a problem with the machine I use at home for backups. The main partition the backups reside on is a 4 disk RAID-5, totaling around 240GB. This has had some sort of corruption inflicted on it, in the content of the (at least) one directory, where there are now corrupted directory entries. This happened after I added an additional SiS PCI IDE controller card to the machine and put

I just downloaded chan_capi.0.3.4a.tar.gz but it will not compile on my system (Suse 9.1).
