Melbourne Asterisk Users meet next Thursday
Hi all,
If you're in Melbourne Australia and interested in Asterisk, you're
invited to join us for a casual evening to talk about Asterisk, VOIP,
networks, and just generally get geeky about IP phone stuff.
Ultimately, I think it would be interesting and useful to turn this
into a monthly get-together, so I'd like to talk about that too.
Anyone with an interest is welcome; from

Asterisk Evening in Melbourne: Feb 2!
Hi all,
Come one come all! We're having the next Asterisk evening at the
Fujitsu Centre for Excellence! This is Fuji's state of the art
show-off centre - they're promising lots of interesting toys to play
with. As usual, we'll be discussing developments in Asterisk land over
the past couple of months. If you've got some interesting toys
yourself, please bring them along!

Melbn Asterisk/Voip get together
Once again, it's time for the Melbourne VOIP get together.
Thursday the 7th is the December meeting of the Melbourne VOIP club.
We will be meeting at the usual place which is Pint on Punt, 42 Punt
Road Windsor.
It's near the big messy intersection of Dandenong Road, King's Way, Punt
Road, Fitzroy Street and St Kilda Road. Lots of trams go by there, and
Windsor train station is just

Grandstream Budgetone BT-101 audio problems
Hi all,
I'm having a really frustrating time with a bunch of BT-101 phones.
They've been trouble-free and working very well for the past several
months. A couple of days ago, some of the phones (but not all of them,
yet) have started acting very strangely. All phones are running
firmware 1.0.6.7, and are identically configured (except for the
user/authenticate/password things) on both the

Ateus VoiceBlue
Hi all,
Simple question: Is anyone successfully using an ATEUS VoiceBlue SIP
<-> GSM box with your Asterisk setup? They look pretty nifty:

Monitor calls timeout
Hi all,
We're in a transition between OldPhoneSystem and Asterisk. One of the
things that's needed to be done right now with OldPhoneSystem is the
ability to record calls. I thought "Asterisk can record calls", so I
set about to make it happen. And it does, sort of.
I made a .call file that rings the exension that I want to have
recorded, and barges into the conversation, using

Administrator-installed printers unavailable to regular users
Hi all,
I'm having a very strange problem with printers under 3.0.10, running
on an up to date Gentoo 2005.0 box. Essentially, if I install a
Samba-networked printer on one of our NT workstations as
"administrator", it doesn't show up for all the other users of that
particular machine. It's as if they don't have any printers installed.
What's more, none of these

Am I attempting the impossible?
Hi all,
After Googling around a while, I've found bits and pieces of my
puzzle, but never someone who's got the whole thing. Here's what I'm
trying:
- Run MS Access 97 and MYOB
- Under FreeBSD 5.3
- With multiple simultaneous users (X Terminals)
Access 97 and MYOB are the only Windows programs we'll need to run,
everything else will be done with "native"

Access 97 on Wine 20041019
Hi all,
I'm having trouble getting Access 97 working with Wine 20041019. Word and
Excel work just fine, as far as I've used them, but Access simply refuses to
start. I've installed off an original installer CD through the WineTools (
2.11jo) utility. I customised the install, removing everything except for
the basic application files for Word, Excel and Access. I've also

Asterisk as plain PABX in call centre
Hi all,
I've been lurking here and reading the Wiki for a month or so now,
getting information on the suitability of Asterisk for my
installation.
I'm responsible for the technical stuff at a mostly-inbound call
centre in Melbourne, Australia. Due to our rapid expansion, it's
getting close to the time to put our old beloved Fujitsu 9600 PABX out
to pasture. I'm evaluating

Important: Application DIALPLAN STANDARD/GUIDELINES needs to be established.
Hello Asterisk community.
We have a small User-group in Melbourne Australia.
Recently I brought up the issue of STANDARDS for dialing Applications on
a PBX.
This generated some interest but also the fact little has been done on
this topic.
Below is a rundown of our THREAD. (start from bottom and go up)
I myself, feel this to be an important issue. With Asterisk being so
programmable,

net file close
Howdy,
Please forgive me if this is a stupid question, but I have searched the lists and can not find an answer for something that should be pretty simple.
I am loooking to perform a net file close on a samba shared file that is open from a windows machine. I can not get it to work in on my mac, or from a bsd based clustered file system. The closest I can get to it is performing an smbstatus

Broadvoice-like company in Canada?
Hey folks,
I am looking for a no frills bring-your-own-SIP device VOIP company
similar to Broadvoice.
Does anyone have any experience with VOIP in Canada?

MS Access, Endnote, among others
Hello,
Has anybody been able to successfully install MS Office XP Pro in Wine? I
don't care much about the whole suite, I need MS Access, but since I have
a bundled cd, I don't have much choice. Apparently several folks have had
similar problems in this list, and I haven't found solutions. Wine-version
is 0.0.20041201-1 Debian unstable package.
I'm not sure I'm starting the

Replication via sneakernet
Is there a way to get a running transaction log from a Dovecot instance to
synchronize (and I use that word very, very loosely) multiple instances
that don't share a network?
Why I would want to do such a thing: I have a couple way stations along a
long, winding road through very hilly country, and at each of these
stations, I have a few people (and many, many more at one end of the road).

Zap channels in AU hanging up on STD pips
Is anyone having/had a problem with a TDM400P card hanging up on STD
outbound calls as soon as the called party answers.
I'm guessing that * is responding to the STD pips in some way.

Question Use of a domain control with windows XP prof
Dear,
I have a question
I am new to Samba but I want to create a windows domain controler in
Samba.
It works fine in combination with windows 2000 server and windows 2000
professional.
I could join the domain and log on to the domain in combination with the
windows 2000 cleints
We have here also a couple of Windows XP prof and couldn't not log on
to the samba domain controler.
I joined
