SIP hardphones with xml/html/xhtml/microbrowser support?
What hardphones support xml/html/xhmtl/microbrowser? I need an inexpensive
SIP hardphone that can run simple applications (queue status, etc).
The phones I know of:
Aastra 480i, 9112i, 9133i
(though limited by 3 LCD lines on the 91xx seems kind of silly)
Cisco 79xx
Mitel 5235
Polycom IP601
Any others?

Announcement: Snom 360 with integrated XML O bjects
that is *very* cool. However, I am somewhat concerned about being forced to
license the firmware (even if it is free) can you comment for the list the
rationale behind forcing a license and how this might affect Snom users who,
say, want to DOWN grade their firmware?
ps is there a timetable for supported, formally released firmware version?

Snom high SIP ping time
I don't know everything that's going on as someone else has been working on the project, but it hasn't really been going anywhere, so I had some questions.
We've got some Snom 320s with Asterisk 1.2.9.1 (I believe). All was well (with a previous release), but the phones started to get real choppy. We are also running a softphone at this location and it was fine. The SIP qualify

Cisco 7905G
Hi All
Just received my first 7905G from a distributer here in Sweden. According to the spec this phone should be able to use SIP. Now I been looking on Ciscos home pages for several hours trying to find a "SIP image" for this phone.
No luck at all, need special access to be able to download software to this phone. Is it the fact, that I have to pay for a contract of some kind to be

[Asterisk-Dev] CVS HEAD behavior change: Beware!
I have just committed some changes to CVS HEAD that make the effort to
eliminate 'priority jumping' applications sooner vs. later...
Basically, there is now a global option, settable in extensions.conf, to
disable all priority jumping. The only application that has been updated
to respect this option is app_dial, but I will update the "janitor
project" list to reflect what

This is from R-2.4.0alpha on windows XP, downloaded from CRAN yesterday.
I did
update.packages(destdir= ..., ask=FALSE,checkBuilt=TRUE)
which took quite a long time (as.expected). When the internet cafe
had to close, I had to stop the downloading, but the menu item
misc --- stop current computation only stopped the current download,
and then R imeadiaetely continued whit the next in the waitin

Linux Distribution for Asterisk server use
Hello,
My question is about which Linux distribution to choose for Asterisk. (/me
holds breath) OK, hopefully you're still reading, because whatever you were
thinking now, you're thinking wrong! ;)
First of all, I want to make clear that I have read EVERY message and reply
that I could possibly find about this topic, so that includes the dozens of
messages here on the Asterisk

SIP phone w/ XML browser
Still looking for cheaper (under $250,-) alternative to cisco 7940 with
features needed for corporate use, mainly:
- shared phone book (e.g. via LDAP or XML browser in phone)
- in-line power
- missed/dialed/received numbers
- integrated switch (voice VLAN support)
I found only aastara/sayson phone (and Intracom/Netphone in the past),
that has xml services anounced, but still not available, so

Oen source IP phone, maybe?
Its another one of my "If I only had time...damn this sleep thing" ideas,
but I really wonder how hard/cost effective it would be to build an open
source IP phone or phone adapter (ala ATA).
In about 20 minutes of mulling and research, I figure you could do it for
about $40 in parts plus coding time...
