RE: faxing to/from asterisk - new scripts
Roman: I created two bash scripts called Mail2Fax and Fax2Mail for use with the asterisk sever. They leverage the app_txfax and app_rxfax scripts, along with ast_fax. They make using these apps a lot easier, including being able to mail to fax@domain.ca for outgoing faxes and then extracting phone numbers from the subject line! (Makes it easy to use with Sendmail without complex rules /

Blocked Callerid
I have been discussing an asterisk solution with a company that has a custom written dialogic based solution. The issue is that their dialogic solution can read callerid from incoming calls, even if the callerid is blocked. I have read before that Asterisk can do this, and they want me to make sure that their new system will be able to do this. A quick poke around inside the zaptel source code

[mythtv-users] Real Time Clock Alarm Broken with 2.6.22+ kernel
Ok, the script is attached... I'll post it on www.generationd.com when I have a chance. If you have any updates & improvements please email them to me! cid_rewrite.php -- Caller ID Name lookup
For those folks who are still using it -- I updated the cid_rewrite script. I noticed that two of the providers were "iffy" and one had changed format a little while ago. It's working again. http://muware.com/asterisk has the latest (1.2.0) Enjoy, -- JM

Getting caller-name - cid_rewrite 1.0.0
Hi folks, I think my little agi script is ready for the big one-oh-oh. Available at http://muware.com/asterisk is cid_rewrite-1.0.0. This agi-script does the following: - Standardize incoming caller-id numbers to adhere to US dialing code; NANPA numbers are reformatted to 1+10, international numbers become 011<country-code><number> (this is customizable with a little PHP knowledge).

Asterisk 1.2.2 - Double Quote on CallerID Causing SIP Problem (7940)
Hi, I just upgraded by 1.0.x home server to 1.2.2. Overall the upgrade went fine, but a strange problem has cropped up with the CALLERID name value of incoming calls from the X101P card. When an incoming call is presented (via Vonage ATA), the calledid value getting double quotes up from: -- Executing NoOp("Zap/1-1", """WIRELESS CALLE" <1404xxxxxxx>") in

NOTIFYCMD not running
I have the nut package installed and running - everything perfect (or so I thought). My syslog shows everything looks great, and pulling the UPS plug for a few seconds triggers a WALL event, but not my notifycmd (which should write a test message to syslog). Can someone offer insight/ideas as to why my NOTIFYCMD is not running? Thanks, Michelle ----------------------- Extract from messages

Aastra phones and park/pickup feature
We are installing Aastra phones (480's and 57i's) into a fairly simple asterisk setup. Although call park & pickup work fine using xfer to 700 (to park), dial 701 (to pickup), we are unable to make the park/pickup softkey feature work on the aastra's. Although we've programmed the softkeys per the manuals, they seem to have no effect (just dead). For example, our 57i is

How robust is mle in R?
A newbie question: I'm trying to decide whether to run a maximum likelihood estimation in R or Stata and am wondering if the R mle routine is reasonably robust. I'm fairly certain that, with this data, in Stata I would get a lot of complaints about non-concave functions and unproductive steps attempted, but would eventually have a successful ML estimate. I believe that, with the

CallerID name lookup AGI script
Hi all, My VoIP provider (race.com) doesn't send name info with CallerID, so I wrote an AGI script that does the following: 1) If it's a toll free number (800|888|877|866), set the CallerID name to "TollFree Caller" 2) Use curl to look up the number in Google phonebook 3) If a business listing, set the CallerID name to business name, as is. 4) If it's a residential

Specifying priors in a multi-response MCMCglmm
Hi Bert, That was distinctly unhelpful, and your outward hostility to a field you obviously don't understand reveals a regrettable level of ignorance. If it is all the same space, then is the asterisk server network stack properly configured with a proper subnet mask? The bb can reach the asterisk server because it registers. Hope this helps On

MCMCglmm multinomial model results
Hi David, Thanks for your comment. I haven't posted the data because they are unpublished and include human subjects so there are issues with sharing on a list serv, but I thought perhaps someone had encountered a similar problem and would already know the answer. I will reconsider whether my University's ethics approval would allow me to post the data and update the question if I think
