Grandstream GXP-2000
FYI, spoke with Grandstream this morning, the GXP-2000 release has been delayed again. Looking like April now before these hit the street. -- Cory Andrews Senior Partner VOIPSupply.com +++++++++++++ V: 800.398.VOIP X22 F: 716.630.1548 E: Cory@VOIPSupply.com

Which SIP phones to buy?
I need to buy some new phones for our own offices. I've used only Polycom phones until now, but I'd like to broaden my experience. I'm trying to decide which phones to experiment with. I have these options: - A combination of Polycom, Aastra and Snom - Just Polycom One the one hand, I'd like to keep things uniform, since it greatly simplifies provisioning. On the other hand, I

Which phones are good, or at least acceptable, for home and office
I am looking to replace all of the old "Bell" (POTS) phones in my home and office with IP phones. As you can imagine I don't have a huge budget to work with but I want phones that will provide acceptable voice quality and durability. There are basically three categories as I see it 1. satellite phones (low cost, low function) 2. primary domestic phone (good quality, POE capable,

Good comparisons on cheaper VOIP phones
Hello list, I am doing some work for a non profit group. As part of this, I am going to be putting in a 30 handset Asterisk solution. We are trying to keep the costs down as much as possible, as this job includes cabling, I am looking at POE solutions. On the switch side, I am considering something like some Netgear ProSafe FS726TP 24 port switches, or maybe the equivalent Linksys SRW224MP 24

FW: Re: Fw: anybody has SIP realtime working ?
Actually, I have tested this here with an Aastra 9133i and an Asterisk@Home server, and the 9133i will re-subscribe on its own after an Asterisk reboot, if you wait long enough. It took on the order of an hour to do so. Of course, a phone reboot will get it done faster, if necessary, but it _will_ eventually re-subscribe on its own. In another thread, I've seen a response that the GXP2000

BLF not working after reload
Hi there, I am running Asterisk 1.2. I have a Grandstream GXP2000 and Aastra 9133i with BLF/Speedial configured for other extensions. The hint's are all configured in extensions.conf and it seems to work as it is supposed to until I reload the configuration in Asterisk or reboot the server. Then neither phone displays the BLF of other extensions until I reboot the phone. It continues

Current viewpoints on the Sayson/Aastra 480i
I have read the user reports on the Aastra 480i SIP phones, but the last report is from October, and the advice was to stay away from these units. I was looking at the cisco 79XX series or the SPA-941's, but they don't have backlit displays. I also like POE support so I don't have to run multiple wires to the phones and makes for a neater look. I dislike the looks of the SNOM

IP Phone with Standard Power Ethernet
I am looking at phones for my asterisk system and seem to have a problem. The only Power over Ethernet phones I can find that support the IEEE standard are 3com. Cisco uses its own proprietary ( and is expensive to boot ), snom has a different but equally non-IEEE method, and i'm havent found another phone that I'm confident can do the job for our office. Whats a good high quality ip

PoE VOIP phones in Australia
Hi, Are there any resellers of phones that can take power over ethernet in Australia? All I can find for sale online is the BT-10[12], which is cheap but not featureful enough, and the Snom 190, which is about right, but neither of them support PoE. I'm particularly intereseted in the Snom 220 with the keypad expansion for our receptionist. Although, could you make a PoE split-out cable

Opinions on Cisco 7960G, Polycom IP-600, and Snom 360
Hello, We are planning to replace our current PBX with an Asterisk / SIP solution, and are now trying to decide which phones to get. My first thought was the Cisco 7960G, but the Cisco licensing scheme irritates me enough that I'll probably end up going with either the Polycom IP-600 or Snom 360. If anyone has any opinions of these phones, especially in comparison to each other, I would

7 points of comparison Polycom 430/501 and Aastra 480i. Which one to choose ?
I need to provide a 80 people office with VOIP. I want to commit to one vendor Polycom or Aastra. Price of the phones is not a factor in the decision. The quality of the phones is the factor. Some of the features that I am evaluating on are: (arranged in order of priority) 1. Sound quality 2. complete product line with conference phone and receptionist phone (not on Aastra) 3. cordless (not on

Advice on best operator phone (with attendant console)
One of our clients is using a Grandstream GXP2000 with an attendant console. We have used the same phone with past clients successfully however this particular operator processes around 200 calls a hours and the GXP2000 for sure does not like the quick line shuffling and call volume. We get the following problems randomly: 1. menu stops working 2. transfer key stops working 3. Line 1 LED gets

Receptionist phones
I've been playing with Asterisk for a few weeks and it's working great. I have a question about getting multi-line receptionist phones working. I was thinking about getting one of these expansion ports: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/phones/ps379/products_data_sheet0 9186a008008883d.html What are people using for receptionist phones that show all the extensions in
