Good provider of Polycom Phones (mostly for accessto latest/greatest firmware)
Stay away from Alliance Systems. We ordered $15k worth of Polycom's over a month ago and we're still waiting. Our account rep's communication with us on what the delay has been, has been terrible.

Polycom IP501 Endless Loop
I have a Polycom IP501 phone and have set it up to download the config from an FTP server, it did this once and now is in an endless loop of trying to contact the FTP server, failing, then rebooting.
When I watch the FTP server logs it looks like the phone starts a session, ends it, starts it, ends it until the phone reboots. It is annoying like nothing I can describe!
I have tried Windows 2003

seems-to-be-inexpensive source of polycom 301 and501
i have ordered 500s from tritechcoa.com several times over the past 4 months. great service and delivery, and the prices are lowish, only problem is, they add a $20 handling fee per phone, on top of phone price, and shipping, making the lower price not as good

Hi,
I just got a Polycom 330 and, of course, I don't have the firmware and
sip.cfg files to provision it. Where can I get those?

Polycom IP 500 SIP bootrom and firmware upgrades
I am using version 1.4.1.0040 and 2.6.1.0003. I have read about newer
versions out there, how can I get them? I'm having an intermittent issue
regarding DHCP with one of my phones, and I recall when I loaded 1.4.1 on
this one phone, it failed once, then it succeeded the second time.
I am wondering if a firmware update will help. Or is there any known issues
with Fedora Core 2 dhcpd and IP

DND on a Polycom IP450
Only slightly asterisk related I suppose, but hoping someone has
attempted this...
I have an old installation with a bunch of IP501s, and one died. I
replaced it with an IP450, and the user sorely misses his DND button. I
hated those DND buttons anyway, as I couldn't control them centrally.
I'd *like* to program one of his softkeys to send a *XX sequence to do

have found some very intresting discussions and some useful info on what
can and can?t be done with it and technology.

Asterisk Lists (was Re: Asterisk Business discussion again)
Why not create a listing of the Asterisk resellers. Have a link off the
main Digium page and post what asterisk services that particular
reseller offers. This way people who are just getting into asterisk
know where they can go for commercial support. Maybe the reseller could
offer some sort of discounted rate for people who are referred to them
through digium? This would boost sales for

Polycom 300 with latest 1.5.3 firmware not registering
Hello,
I got 3 Polycom 300 phones, and upgraded to the latest firmware provided by the reseller.
This is my first experience with Polycom and I cannot make them register in my Asterisk Box.
I followed every advice I found (including separating [user] and [peer] in sip.conf.
Using ethereal, I found that it tries to SUBSCRIBE to the asterisk box and it receives a 403 FORBIDDEN message.

Cisco 79xx firmware
I have several Cisco 79xx phones (7905, 7920, 7940, 7960, 7970, ATA 186) and I need to buy firmware for them. I have contacted http://www.cdw.com and http://www.insight.com/ but they didn't respond.
Can anybody tell me where can I buy SCCP and SIP firmware for my phones?
BTW, I'm in Croatia (Hrvatska). I heard that location does matter.

Polycom IP 500 : Displaying digits dialed after connection
Hello All,
I am wondering if there is a way to make Polycom IP 500 SIP phone display
digits dialed after a call is connected. For example, when I call an IVR,
after the connection is complete, the digits dialed to enter account number
etc are not displayed on the phone. They are sent to the target. My users
are asking to see the digits dialed as they are used to seeing them on our

Kind of OT here, but just out of curiosity, how do you email them? Do
you have an actual address, or do you just use the form on their web
site? I've sent a bunch of requests via that form, and even though it
says I should receive a response, I never have. I've tried going
through a couple of resellers, too, and

PoE VOIP phones in Australia
Hi,
Are there any resellers of phones that can take power over ethernet in
Australia? All I can find for sale online is the BT-10[12], which is cheap
but not featureful enough, and the Snom 190, which is about right, but
neither of them support PoE. I'm particularly intereseted in the Snom 220
with the keypad expansion for our receptionist.
Although, could you make a PoE split-out cable
