Nortel M Series phones support
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I've searched the mailing list quite extensively, but didn't come up with anything promising (some things wer helpful, though). Does anyone know if Nortel M Series (specifically the 2008, 2616, 7208, and 7310) phones can be made to work with the TDM400P card or if they are ADSI compatible at all? I kind of doubt they will work if they are

connecting 66 analog phones to asterisk - hardware suggestions
Hi, I am looking to connect 66 analog phones to an asterisk box. I was thinking of a Xorcom astribank 32port (2 of them and another 8 port). this is because the phones have no near connection to an ip network, so replacing the phones in favor of voip phones+network cabling is kinda out of the question. In your experience, will these units support all the phones talking at the same time with

IP Phone recommendations?
Hey gang, I'm looking at escaping from a Nortel Meridian CISC system to Asterisk/Digium/SIP phones. I'm currently in the testing and proof of concept phase. I'm going to need a SIP phone and don't want to re-purchase and have "orphans" around. We currently run Nortel 7310 phones and they work great. I'm sort of overwhelmed by all of the different IP phones. I

Using Asterisk as Voicemail Server on a dinosaur Meridian System
We have a dinosaur Meridian system (~version 2) with 4 digital lines going to a Repartee Voicemail server. The Repartee got smoked by lightning two days ago and I'm itching to get Asterisk installed in its place. PRI is not an option since the system is so old that it doesn't even support PRI. I need to figure out how to connect the old Meridian to Asterisk otherwise. Any advice on

integration with Meridian/Norstar ATA2
I'm attempting to use an asterisk box with a Digium TDM01B as voicemail for an existing Meridian/Norstar PBX with an ATA-2 adapter. We're having problems where hangup is not always (but sometimes) detected. It's not detected probably 70% of the time or more. (The users transfer callers to an extension--caller then has to navigate a menu to get to the appropriate user). After

RE: Building from scratch would like the benefit of (TOO LONG...)
I use Cisco 7940's and 7960's over here, loaded with SIP, and they do very nicely. Also, the SCCP channel for * is under heavy development, and may offer a future option to convert in that direction, too (SCCP, or skinny, is their native tongue, not SIP). We got our phones from John Putnam at Global Technology Solutions - competitive price, very prompt service, and delivered them with the

Billing Telephone Number (BTN)
I have Asterisk setup with two PRI's one going to my telco and the other going to a Norstar Meridian system. The Norstar Meridian is sending a BTN number that needs to be passed to the Telco. Is there a way to pass the BTN as a variable in the dial plan? Like CallerID(num)? What is the variable for BTN if so? Many Thanks. -- *** Forrest Beck IAXTEL: 17002871718 jonforrest.beck@gmail.com

Newbie with questions
I have an existing Meridian PBX system that I am looking at replacing with Asterisk for the multi-office features. One of the many areas that I am unclear on is if we can use the existing phones from the old PBX system? Some are Meridian M7310 and some are Norstar M7208 models. They each support multiple lines with a multi-line display, but I haven't seen anything on this list about sporting

Asterisk as Voicemail Server for Option 61c?
Looks like we will be forced to make a move on our voicemail system as Nortel has declared Meridian Mail an end of life product. Frustrating thing is that it would seem their only reason for it is so they can force our hand to move to Call Pilot. Is there any documentation and feedback out there of how people have used Asterisk as a voicemail system for a legacy PBX? We've got about

Nortel SL1 protocol and *?
I have been investigating more tight integration between * and the Nortel MICS... it appears that it is at least theoretically possible to have * store voicemail and log which stations call where. Both require a T1 card. The T1 card requires either a clocking module or the 6-port fiber module to provide T1 timing. Naturally a T100P or TE405P is required on the * side. To log which

Nortel digital FXO channel bank? Exists?
We have a client with a Nortel PBX with digital phone sets. Due to T1 problems (old firmware), we are interested in trying a FXO channel bank. Is there a channel bank (or equivalent) which emulates Meridian digital phone sets? In order words, an FXO channel bank that's Meridian digital? PRI dropped calls w/ asterisk dropped between pstn & norstar
Hi, I dropped an asterisk server with a TE405P between a Norstar Meridian PBX and it's PRI PSTN connection. Everything seemed to work fine using a pass-thru-type dialplan configuration... except now we've realised that outbound calls to celphones get dropped upon connect, but not on every call (almost always the first try, but not the second). All other calls to non-celphones had no

Hi List; Asterisk does not have any kind of cards that can work with it to be used with Digital Phones (digital phones differ than analoge phone and differ than IP Phones). Organization wide
After our department went to using *, I've had several inquiries about doing VoIP for my entire organization (Small county). We have ~10 locations with various links in between (Mostly p2p T1s, some Frame (1.544mbps commit), some ISDN, some VPN over 768kbit internet) Right now we're using several NEC Electra Elite systems, and 2 Nortel Meridian systems. In one of the main locations we have

High Port Count ATA
I'm trying to find a high port count ATA device. We have a lot (up to 110) analog devices that we need to bridge to IP. Rather than go out and buy 110 ATA's, it would make more sense to buy a single chassis type device with some number of ports and blades. Anyone know if such a device exists? Thanks, Doug. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
