function design
I have a, no doubt, simple question. I wish to write a function such that a <- 9 b <- 10 changer _ function(x,y) { if (y>x){ x <<- Y+1}} Of course there are easier ways to accomplish the task above, but I am more interested in how to have the "x <<- Y+1" part of the function to change x in place for purposes of a much larger function. I have been wrestling with

readline not found
Hi all, I just upgraded to R-1.8.0. Everything worked fine but command line editing does not work. This clearly indicates that readline has not been found in the compilation process. How could I explicitely indicate where to find it ? I use a Red Hat 8.0 system. I checked the FAQ which says readline-devel is also needed, but I have it already installed. Perhaps should I add the configure

asterisk compile problem
Hello all As of 5pm PST today (7/13), I pulled Asterisk down off of cvs.digium.com:/usr/cvsroot and tried to compile it on Linux ES 2.1 Actually, I pulled down zaptel, libri & asterisk and compiled them in that order as per my install guide. When I try to compile asterisk with "make clean; make install", it runs okay for a bit and then I get the following error: (ignore Outlooks

Installing splancs_2.01-9 on Red Hat Linux 7.3
Hi all, I'm trying to install the splancs contributed package on a Redhat 7.3 system with R 1.5.1 installed. I've installed the readline41-4.1-10 RPM which Redhat requires for R and it works great, thanks very much. However, when I attempt to R CMD INSTALL splancs_2.01-9.tar.gz as root, I get the following error message during the install: [snip] g77 -fPIC -O2 -m486

poll vs select in channel.c
Hello, The v1-0_stable cvs release doesn't include the recent change ('poll' instead of 'select') in channel.c. Will it end up there any time soon, or we need to use cvs head to pick up this change? Thank you. Alex Zarubin Webley Systems -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Forwarding Voicemail Crashes Asterisk
Hello everyone, As far as I can tell, if we try to forward a voicemail (by going into voicemail and saying that we want to forward it to another extension) it crashes asterisk. voicemail.conf does not seem to be where I should be looking. Any ideas? I did a 'cvs checkout -r v1-0_stable asterisk' when checking out from CVS. Should I be on a newer version? TIA, -Ron --------------

Dead air on 7960 sip at start of call.
Hi, Despite much searching, I can't find anything quite like the problem we seem to be experiencing with our recently activated asterisk pbx. Of four people answering several calls per five minutes, I have reports of the occasional call starting with dead air. The user picks up the call from the queue, and they can hear that the line is too quiet. If they start talking, the caller either

Queue Patch - estimated hold time announcements
Let me know if you find something out. I am having the same problem. I can get it to play to my agents but not the people on hold. I was debating on creating a AGI script to do all this but I remembered that it was supposed to do it automatically. If someone has a work around could you please share it? This seemed to be the only unsatisfied dependency, at least that was the only one mentioned when installing
