Ugly echo cancel, with Bristuff/Zaphfc
I'm using bristuffed Asterisk with ISDN/ZAPHFC I have VERY ugly (outgoing) sound through ISDN/HFC if echocancel=yes in zapata.conf, but without echocancel I have bad (incoming) echo Through PSTN/FXO sound is ok with or without echocancel. I tried other echo cancellers (in zconfig.h) two times: ECHO_CAN_KB1 (this was default) ECHO_CAN_MARK2 ECHO_CAN_MG2 after any change I compiled (make

bristuff-0.2.0-RC8n problems and kernel panic
Hi list! On a newly installed RHEL 4 box I'm trying to install bristuff-0.2.0-RC8n. Everything did compile but I am running into some problems with the zaphfc driver. First of all when I load zaphfc *before* zaptel (yes I know I shouldn't do that) I get a kernel panic and the box hangs. Not so nice, especially when you are trying to fix stuff from remote locations. But ok. Now for

RX/TXgain on bristuff/zaptel ?
Do bristuffed zaptel (zaphfc) supporting rxgain/txgain in zapata.conf? I'm changing rxgain in zapata.conf, and reloading zaptel, but sound level on ISDN(HFC) is always the same (loud).

Bristuff-0.3.0-PRE-1q and & florz patch compile trouble
Again trouble compiling bristuff-0.3.0-PRE-1q with the florz patch on a x86_64 box (I guess nobody is using x86_64 platform or is able to fix this themselves?) First of all when bristuff is downloaded and compile is started it appears that the bristuff Makefiles are badly broken. The asterisk Makefiles all do see to find the kernel sources on a RHEL4 box in the proper directory, the pure

Bristuff e RealTime: STABLE vs. CVS-HEAD
Hi all! Was anybody able to install kapejod's zaphfc drivers together with RealTime application? I'm in big trouble because bristuff relay on STABLE version, while RealTime is included in the CVS-HEAD. I found this hint, "Installing zaphfc with CVS-Head" at http://voip-info.org/wiki-Asterisk+zaphfc+install, but it was written many months ago: may it be still useful? TIA, Alex

why incoming DATA CALLS are answered as VOICE by asterisk IVR?
When incoming DATA call arrive on ISDN BRI, asterisk (zaphfc) recognise that this is DATA call, but answering anyway (playing IVR messages, etc...) How to stop that? I want that only VOICE calls are answered, and DATA/FAX to be ignored. (I'm using Asterisk 1.2.1 Brisftuffed 0.3.0-PRE-1f, ZapHFC) Log: -- Accepting data call from 'XXXXXXXX' to '3001' on channel 0/2, span 1

florz patch for bristuff breaks compile on x86_64?
After upgrading a CentOS 3.x box to CentOS 4.1 (both x86_64 with an Athlon64) I also wanted to get the latest bristuff. Unfortunately bristuff without florz causes the box to kernel panic within hours (console will complain about bad frame received something). It seems however that the florz patch will not work for x86_64 arch. Bristuff -0.2.0-RC8j compiles fine without the florz patch, but

Can zaphfc (bristuff) do caller id?
Caller id is not in the configs that are supplied with zaphfc from bristuff, and it's not mentioned in the wiki. Is it possible to use callerid with zaphfc/bristuff? Thanks!!

zaptel, bristuff zaphfc, and florz question
Hi, We've been using zaphfc single ISDN cards as cheap Zaptel timing sources for our Asterisk boxes for a long time, and in the asterisk 1.0.x series, had zero problems doing so. I now have some boxes with Zaptel 1.2.x (with a mixture of 1.0.x asterisk and 1.2.x asterisk), and this setup no-longer seems stable - By plugging or unplugging the ISDN cable, and sometimes just randomly the card

bad sound ISDN bristuff
Hello * users I've problems with sound quality on zaphfc Asterisk works fine good sound quality. If I do "make load" in the bristuf.xx zaphfc dir then sound quality drops directly. Even if I don't load the chan_zap in the modules.conf I use this config on more (even old 400Mhz machines) and works correctly. Looks like an hardware problem but I can't find it. I don't

Multiple ISDN BRI Units with Asterisk using Bristuff zaphfc in NT mode?
Maybe this is rather a hardware question, but I am posting it on this list because the probability of someone else of you having tried this is greater here than other places I can think of. I have an ISDN card that is setup in NT mode using the zaphfc driver in bristuff, and I got it working perfectly with one ISDN phone using a crossover cable and 100 ohm termination at the end of the cable.

ISDN Bridging with Bristuff
Hello, I tried to read Bristuff source code to understand the way calls are bridged from one BRI port to another (as HFC cards have "active channel switching capability"). Doing so I looked at zaphfc.c file which seems to be the only .c file constituting bristuff but I may be wrong I'm far from being an expert on this. I found 4 functions (hfc_btrans, hfc_brec, hfc_dtrans,

I apologise now if I have managed to completely misunderstand this whole subject! I've built a small PC and loaded Etch 4.0 from the netinst cd. I did 'apt-get install asterisk-bristuff' which seemed to work but, it doesn't seem to have installed any files/modules for zaptel? ztcfg zaptel zaphfc I am using a billion hfc card Any pointers? -- Simon Faulkner 01538 303 900

zaphfc: empty HDLC frame or bad CRC received
Hi, i've downloaded/compiled/installed the bristuffed asterisk Asterisk 1.0.7-BRIstuffed-0.2.0-RC8a and i'm using it with an hfc card. It runs on a debian 3.1 sarge machine with kernel 2.6.11. Can't dial SIP<->EuroISDN (HFC-S based PCI ISDN card): Unable to create channel of type 'Zap'
Hi, I'm trying to set up an Asterisk pbx based on a Fedora Core 1 Linux box (customized kernel version 2.4.24). I want calls from my SIP soft-phones to simply be dumped onto the PSTN line via a BRI (EuroISDN). I have a cheap HFC-S based PCI ISDN card connected to the NT1+ interface, so I need zaphfc. I've read everything I've found at www.voip-info.org, then I've downloaded the
