Wiki Voip Phone reviews
Hi, We have a page on the wiki just for phone reviews, but I think it needs a bit of format change. Instead of individual reviews for each phone, I think each person should review all phones they have worked with and list the phones they have had access to and rank them in relation to each other. Also each review should have a date so the reader can see how fresh the data is to current.

Feedback on Linksys SPA-921 and GrandStream GXP-2000
Hello I'm about to order a GrandStream GXP-2000 and a Linksys SPA-921 I'd like to have some user feedback about how those phones perform, and whether their LCD screen displays both the caller ID name and number (The GrandStream BT-100 only displays numbers, which isn't very helpful). Thank you.

Which IP phones have best voice quality, preferably under $150
Hi all, I have to buy some IP phones. Previously I have used Grandstream GXP-2000, Budgetone 101 and Linksys SPA-841. I always had problems with sound quality with all of them, and I was always of the opinion that it were the phones which were not good. In GXP-2000 deployment of about 50 phones, some work good, some have sound problems like words missing, clicking sounds when talking, and some

Granstream GXP2000 Distinctive tones
I recently posted a question RE the Sipura 941 and using different ring tones, Thanks to hads I managed to use SET(_ALERT_INFO=Classic-1) to achieve this but trying this on the GXP 2000's didn't seem to do the trick?? Has anyone one had any luck on this topic? Also haven't been able to find any info on an auto-answer for the GXP 2000, again, I have succeeded in doing so with the

SPA-841 vs Grandstream GXP-2000
I started out a few years ago with some SPA-841 sets, because the Grandstream 2000 I thought I wanted was perpetually delayed. The GS had more call appearances, and I didn't want just the 4 max that the SPA offered. As it turns out, with the greater flexibility of VOIP, I don't need 'dedicated' CAs the way I needed them on ISDN previously, so 4 is actually adequate. Along the line,

Grandstream GXP-2000 call end
Hi When I make a call with the Grandstream GXP-2000 through Asterisk (and SER) to landline using VSP, after I hang up the call the other party are still connected for another 30-40 seconds. I've notice that the SIP BYE is sent to Asterisk, but Asterisk sends no SIP BYE on to VSP. When I use the SPA-941 the call terminates on the other right away soon as I hang up. I have updated the

Phone with public address functionality
I have searched for this without much luck. I want to be able to send public-address-like notices over VoIP phones. The LinkSys SPA-941 auto-answer support comes close to working, except that if you are currently in a call it places that call on hold without warning. I'm willing to consider a more expensive phone to solve the problem if I have to. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Voted most stable and easy to use phone?
A while back i had asked about possible replacements for snom 360 phones that were breaking and causing issues and we all discussed the problems we had with the 360s and some suggestions were made but the new polycom phones had just hit the market and not many people were able to comment on them. Basically i am looking to get some new phones and in the process get rid of the countless number of

Transfer/Speed-Dial
The vast majority of what I've done with Asterisk has been with the Grandstream GXP-2000's. These phones work great for us for everything *except* speaker quality is quite poor and appears to be half-duplex. So now that we've bought and are using 40 GXP-2000's we're doing some testing on other phones. I've bought a Polycom 301 & 501 as well as a Linksys SPA942. While

SPA-941 (and others ) Transmit Sound Quality
Hello, This is not exactly an Asterisk question, but I was encouraged to seek advice here anyway. The kindness of the * open source community is legendary :) I am getting going with an Asterisk 1.2 box, and I'm having trouble getting good quality transmit sound using handsets with VoIP phones. I'm primarily trying to focus on SPA-941, but also experimenting with Aastra 9113i and Uniden

Which phones are good, or at least acceptable, for home and office
I am looking to replace all of the old "Bell" (POTS) phones in my home and office with IP phones. As you can imagine I don't have a huge budget to work with but I want phones that will provide acceptable voice quality and durability. There are basically three categories as I see it 1. satellite phones (low cost, low function) 2. primary domestic phone (good quality, POE capable,

SPA-941 auto-answer capability
Hi. I am thinking about building an asterisk system for a small business and want to be able to page through the phones. It seems like to do this asterisk needs auto-answer support in the phone. I know the SPA-841's support this, as do Cisco phones, but I have been unable to determine if the new Cisco/Linksys SPA-941's do. Does anyone here have experience with trying to use auto-answer

Anyone use the Linksys phones?
Is anyone out there using any of the newer linksys phones since Cisco took over? I am more specifically looking at the spa-941 & 942's. Just curious about call quality, programability, and functionality with asterisk. I have read through the literature, but would like some real world feedback. Thanks
