similar to: sangoma a104 cards and ss7 signaling

Hi all, I am having a very strange problem. I am terminating a PRI (5ESS switch type, national plan, 23B+1D (24)) into a Sangoma A104 and am not able to produce any audio heard on the PSTN end of the call. Not sure what's wrong - the card worked before under a Trixbox setup. I'm running kernel 2.6.19 (tried 2.6.24.3 but had to downgrade as wanpipe stuff would not compile), zaptel

Dear all, Do you have come acrross with this issue. My ss7 link get fluctuating. It use chan_ss7 version 1.0.95-beta. I have 8 E1s running on a DL380 server with Digium E1 cards ( 4 port cards). This enable to have calls from sip to ss7 and vice versa. However ss7 links are not stable. linkset siuc, link l1, schannel 1, sls 0, NOT_ALIGNED, rx: 1, tx: 2/4, sentseq/lastack: 127/127, total

I'm making outbound calls by placing call files in the asterisk outgoing directory. At times, the call would be hung by SS7 without even attempting (due to error in the outgoing number). I'm confused a bit about the following and was hoping to get some answers on this group - What is exactly implied when we say asterisk can connect to a PSTN. Does it mean connecting to the PSTN via PRI/T1/E1? If yes, then I assume asterisk does not need to do any SS7 signaling and all it does (playing the role of a PBX) is to connect to a Class 5 Switch at the CO. Is this a correct statement?

Hello on Behalf Of idont know, Sangoma has a Media Gateway solution via SS7. They I believe are the only ones capable of connecting Asterisk via SS7. You may want to check them out. Hi, I'm looking into support for SS7 and I found an article (http://www.openss7.com/news13022002.html) which says that OpenSS7 supports Linux Support Inc's T400P-SS7 Quad T1 and E400P-SS7 Quad E1 PCI interface cards. We currently use Asterisk to provide a SIP-to-PSTN service. The actual conversion takes place somewhere in a softswitch owned by our SIP-to-PSTN provider, where we have an SS7 link. We would like to do that conversion ourselves. Is it possible to replace a softswitch with a Cisco AS5xx0 only (ie. AS5300, 5350, 5400), or is a *real* softswitch (ie. Cisco PGW2200) needed?
