TDMoE Configuration problems
Hi all, I'm having some problems getting TDMoE setup for the 1st time. I have a TE405P installed in the main server with an ethernet cross-connection to the secondary machine. (Yes, I know about IAX2 but I want to use TDMoE to simulate using T1s.) I'm using -HEAD from yesterday. On the main machine /etc/zaptel.conf: loadzone = us defaultzone=us

Proper trunk to connect two systems.
Hello, I am replacing an exisiting call center with a new asterisk based solution. This will initially consist of to phone servers. The first being the main PBX, and the second being a predictive dialer. The dialer will have sip extensions for all the agents, while the main pbx will hand pretty much everything else. The two boxes will be right next two each other, and are currently

Transcoding CPU usage: surveys?
Before I put myself to the task (next month, maybe) of surveying the CPU costs of transcoding, perhaps someone else has already done this work and would be willing to share it or refer me to a link of previously published data. My reviews of the mailing list with various keywords were unsuccessful in finding adequate references, though I admit I only spent 20 minutes looking. What I seek is

analog call progress - can I use backgrounddetect
Hi, There seems to be no solution for call progress on analog lines and using outgoing spool call files . My wave file starts playing before the person has answered the phone so the first part of the message is missed. Can the backgrounddetect app be used for this. I have tried but the message still plays before I answer. I generated 60 seconds wave file. [callprogress] exten =>

Detect sound and continue, like BackgroundDetect() for voice
I'm looking for an application that can monitor a channel for voice input and then proceed on. The closest thing I've found is BackgroundDetect, which expects DTMF. Here's what I'm doing: -Call file generated which calls someone and connects them to an extension. -Extension plays stuff, etc. etc. etc (not important) With digital or VoIP termination, this works fine, because *

IAX2 trunk mode not working
Hi all - We have several servers working just fine with IAX2 w/o trunk mode. We are trying to setup trunk mode to save bandwidth, but we can not achieve the savings with our current configuration (see below). When we place a call between * boxes A & B it works fine, but the command 'iax2 trunk debug' shows no activity for the trunk mode (1 peer, 0 calls). Anyone who has

TDMOE Badness in kernel...
Has anyone succesfully used TDMoE on Fedora Core 2.6.12+ Kernel versions? I'm having the issue that is in the Mantis bug database with badness with the kernel. My Story: I can get the dynamic span to come up and show OK in the zttool on both machines. However i get errors every second (Warning: detected alarm on channel 1... then channel 2...) And then the next second, i get : alarm

Pinouts for T1/E1 crossover cable WAS "RE: whatcable to connect a legacy PBX to a TE410P ?"
I for one think it is a great idea to buy a book with hard earned money and wait a few days to a week just to get an answer to a question that is freely available on the internet immediately. Hard pressed to think of anything in the "book" that is not on with wiki with more up to date and useful information. -----Original Message----- From: Alexander Lopez

TDMoE vs IAX2
I just came across http://www.voip-info.org/tiki-index.php? page=Asterisk%20TDMoE and seemed very interesting. It prompted me to question whether it would be more efficient to do TDMoE or IAX2. The application is very simple. I have two asterisk boxes. One is strictly a gateway to the PSTN using multiple T1s. The second is where all my extensions and dialplan are defined (the workhorse for

Exposing Zap Channels on Server A to be Used ByServer B
Robert, Essentually I want to be able to have Server B dial the extensions connected to server A as well as route calls to the outbound route on Server A. Server B will have little to no knowledge of what is on Server A. I just want it to dump the calls off. For some reason I keep thinking this was a PRI type of thing. Like there was a module that loaded up as a fake PRI that your

TDMoE bandwidth and load
Hello, We've just started using TDMoE(local T1s connecting between Asterisk servers in the same building over the LAN) to connect a few of our high-availability servers instead of using crossover T1 cables. The 3 servers we have connected to each other over TDMoE are running just fine and we have no audio quality issues or bandwidth issues, but I'm considering using TDMoE to connect 8

TE410P -> Dialogic D240SC
Basically, have an old IVR application running under Apex's Omnivox software on a box with 4 old intel dialogic D240SCs, and would like to allow remote clients to gain access to aforementioned IVR application via softphone, 7960, ata, etc via asterisk with a TE410P. Unfortunately, all I know about the dialogics is that they're configured for D4/AMI, which I believe I have configured right

TDMoE questions
Hello, I want to link several * boxes together. Some of them are dedicated as "user" servers (SIP and IAX clients connect to them) and some are used as PRI servers (where the PRIs are hooked onto). I think TDMoE is the only channel type where you can group different Interfaces into a single group. E.g. for using Dial(ZAP/g1/12345), I think you cannot group different IAX accounts

Pinouts for T1/E1 crossover cable WAS "RE: what cable to connect a legacy PBX to a TE410P ?"
Can't anyone stop self-promotion and tell the poor guy what he needs. A T1/E1 X-over cable using an RJ-45 (8-cond.) is pinned out as follows: 1 - 4 2 - 5 3 - NU 4 - 1 5 - 2 6 - NU 7 - NU 8 - NU NU = Not Used I have not in my experience seen any problems with using a Good Quality Cat5 vs. Cat 3 (telco standard) cable for X-connects. YMMV, but you should be fine. As far as the shielding

Pinouts for T1/E1 crossover cable WAS "RE: whatcable to connect a legacy PBX to a TE410P ?"
I have used cross-connect wire from the spool to make T1 crossover cables with RJ45 ends. All that matters is that pin one goes to four and two goes to five on both ends. ________________________________ From: asterisk-users-bounces@lists.digium.com on behalf of Andrew Sent: Sat 4/22/2006 2:51 PM To: Asterisk Users Mailing List - Non-Commercial Discussion Subject: Re: Pinouts for T1/E1

I havn't try MachineDetect yet, what is the benefit of MachineDetect over BackgroundDetect. If anybody used any of this command successfully, please help me. If possible, please let me

Peer Review - Linuxfest Presentation Outline
Hello all, I've been invited to do a presentation on Asterisk for the Ohio Linuxfest in Columbus this weekend (http://www.ohiolinux.org). Rough estimates are that nearly 500 people will be attending. I've been working on an outline for a couple of weeks and I would like to have some peer review of the information presented. I am going to have to cut down the content to make it fit in

TE410P / Eicon PRI
for today we only have experience with BRI applications together with asterisk. is the following scenario possible and stable enough for production? FYI : We want to build a unified messaging application integrated with SIP. We have an E1 connection in Belgium with 100 msn's We would think about having 2 servers : Server A : Asterisk PRI card (Digium TE410P) Server B : Fax
