Installing the none commercial intel g729 codecsinto Asterisk@Home 2.2?
Thanks but this is for a test, I didn't buy the first one as it's a non commercial installation. I'm trying to test bandwidth etc so I need to try out how 4 of them handle the link simultaneously, I just don't know how to add a second test license.

G729 Licensing Revisited - I'm Sorry!
Hello Everyone,
We are looking to transition our 23 channels from testing/lab into
production. During testing we used the free open source g729 license
using the instructions found here:
http://blog.manhag.org/2010/05/installing-the-free-g729-codec-for-asterisk/
A little more about our setup. All recordings have been converted to
G729, all voicemail messages are also in G729, finally

Codec G729 / x86_64 bits.
Hello All,
I always used a compiled version for a x86 system
>From http://kvin.lv/pub/Linux/Asterisk/ , and
Works fine.
At this time , I'm using a Pentium IV Dual core,
Running Centos 4.3. I tried to install the 64 bits
Compiled version but has a translation time > 20ms.
Is it correct ?
I also tried to make my self compilation and apply
The patch but the patch doesn't work on ICC

Change g729 payload
Hi All,
I have a SIP provider that tells me that my RTP stream uses a
"20bytes payload in the g729 coded data". And they would like that we
change this to 30bytes (3 frames).
But maybe I'm wrong but isn't a certain payload just a standard for a
codec ?
And if I'm wrong, how can I change the payload for my g729 calls in
Asterisk.
Greetings,
Attilla

Re: [Asterisk-Dev] Free G.729 ready for download
I expropriated the right to rip Daniel's disclamer for use in my
email too..
DISCLAIMER:
You might have to pay royalty fees to the G.729 patent holders for using
their algorithm.
For easier testing I prepared codec_g729.so binaries and associated
libraries and put them on the web:

G729 licensing
Hi,
I'm looking for a good codec to use on a personal VoIP setup. It is
strictly for my personal use, I'll never resell it, make money or it, or
whatever.
It seems a free personal-use G729 codec is available as a WIN32
library. I find it puzzling that at the same time one has to pay license
fees to use it under Linux, even non-commercially.
I was wondering -- am I missing something?

Thanks,

G.729 pre-compiled binaries and Asterisk 1.2.x.
Asterisk 1.2.24 seems to crash repeatedly under any substantial call load
(and sometimes without a substantial call load - just one SIP leg is
enough to do it) when using the G.729 pre-compiled binaries from:
http://asterisk.hosting.lv/
As per:
http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-Asterisk+G.729+Licensing
Time to crash is variable, but seems to require at least an hour of
production performance

G729 Commercial Licenses.
Hi all,
I have purchased 2 licenses of G729 from digium and has done the
registration. It works well and is quite fine with my Asterisk@Home. Just
want to clarify some licensing issues regarding them.
If i had to do a full reformat of my PC and reload a@h again will i be able
to use the licenses again without re-registration?
If no. .Is there are limits for this?
Please anyone clarify.
Thanks

G729 license count...
I need a refresher course on how many licenses I need to buy. I have
an Asterisk server that receives calls by SIP (G729) and then sends them
to the PSTN via 32 Zap interfaces on an Astribank. I cannot remember if
the license is per channel or per call so I do not know if I need 32 or
64 licenses for this application. Could anyone please remind me?

Digium G729 licence unattended install
Hi,
One of the key features of Asterisk is that we can install it on many
hardware platforms.
We've done our best to script this installation process, so that, in case of
hardware failure, we can re-install Asterisk on another platform.
The question I have is how can we adapt our process so that Digium's G729
licences (or other licenced software) could be installed without asking too

g729 codec compatibility voiceage vs Digium
I own a G729b codec from voiceage which I had from Digium a couple of
months ago , I friend of mine had the new Digium G729 codec which
registers in the asterisk as a Annex A/B codec, the problem that we saw
is that the call goes thru find but we cannot here any sound. Asterisk
is showing this :
-- SIP/10.10.1.1-babc is ringing
-- SIP/10.10.1.1-babc answered

G729 codec for asterisk
Hi there,
Here at my company we are willing to use the asterisk IVR system.
The problem we are having rigth now is that all our GWs use G729.
I've read that in order to asterisk be able to make transcoding from the GSM
audio files to G.729, it is necesary to purchase a license from digium. Is
this correct?
I've seen that licenses are purchased on a per-channel basis. Could

G729 license counting
Hello,
How many licenses to buy?? :
From what we understood from digium website, we must buy as many
licenses as the number of maximum simultaneous calls using G729 Codec we
wish to make.
For example, If we want to be able to make a maximum of 10 simultaneous
calls using G729 Codec, we must buy 10 licenses.
Is it right?
Thanks you

Bandwidth Management
Hi,
understand that the bandwidth utilized for each call is dependent on the
codec used, wonder if Asterisk can monitor the total bandwidth utilized
and restrict/reject new calls when the resource is insufficient to
support them reliably?
