Sixtel.net / IAX.CC - Vanity Toll-Free Numbe r
Hi, I've tried to make toll-free DID work for the last 2-3 weeks. Apparently only the IAX.CC/Sixtel personnel can make a call to my toll-free. Anybody else just gets a busy signal. It takes for them about 5-6 business days to respond to my request. It seems they are looking in the once a week to the High priority tickets. It also seems that they are permanently closed ! No matter when I

Sixtel.net / IAX.CC - Vanity Toll-Free Number
How long does it take to get a vanity number? I signed up for an account, pre-paid some money, and then placed a vanity number order. I did all of that around Dec. 31st 2004. They said it would take 2-10 business days. It is now Feb. 15th and still no vanity number. I've called them about a dozen times and every time they tell me to keep calling the number to check it and just wait. I'm

FW: NuFone Update: DIDs (Correction)
Well I know from personal experience that NuFone is working on a solution for its customers as fast as it can. I know they found an alternate termination provider and are working to have a solution for the TF and Local DID's he currently has on his platform. -----Original Message----- From: asterisk-users-bounces@lists.digium.com [mailto:asterisk-users-bounces@lists.digium.com] On Behalf Of

Toll-free DID switchover: Get status?
Hello! I am in the middle of having a vanity toll-free DID set up. It's been 13 days now (9 business days). This is the first time I'm doing this, and I'm not sure of the process. There has been a very weird progression of changes on my number, from fast-busy, to a message saying that I'm calling from a phone with restrictions (no matter *what* line I call from), to a

How NuFone.Net's customer service works.
Hello All, I have been using asterisk for some time, and I would like for all to take a look at what NuFone does when they get something called out about their website. I ordered a 800 number from them on 3/4/05, they did not make me aware of the time that they took in provisioning and how terrible their support was. I called them on Tuesday 3/8/05 asked for a phone call because the

Toll Free DIDs
I have several toll free numbers that get forwarded to a single local number assigned to a trunkgroup. I've asked the telco to not forward those toll free numbers but to assign them as DIDs to the trunkgroup, so that I can differentiate via DNID. They said that they can't do that. That toll free numbers must forward. I know that I could have them each forward to different local DIDs

SIP Ports (1000 to 2000 works)
I was reading the posts and someone said about the default 1000 to 2000 I see in the .conf the default is 10000 to 20000 I found a service that gives inbound DID's in the firewall 5060 and 10000 - 20000 is setup no workie on the DID But when I set 5060 , 10000 - 20000 and (Unblocked) 1000 - 2000 Now the DID works fine. So you me what the standard is -- Best regards, Al Bochter Bochter

integrated voip originator, to digitize audio once and only once?
Calling 7777 from a local extension on my local network, I get good voice quality from asterisk, and asterisk reliably recognizes my dtmf input. I set up a sipphone trunk (free) and called in to it via a separate sipphone account on another computer, and got slightly lower, but still good, audio quality. I set up a FWD trunk (free) and called in from the other computer, and got somewhat lower

Blacklisting Toll-Free etc.
I have always been able to block toll-free numbers by catching them with a line similar to this for each DID I have on my system: exten => 5554441212/_888NXXXXXX,n,Playback(GoAway) Where 15554441212 is one of the DIDs that rings into our Asterisk box. The problem with this approach that I have to create a line like this for every pattern I want to block multiplied by every DID on my system,

Experiences with Termination Providers?
I hope this is an appropriate question for the list.. I am looking for a VOIP termination provider who can offer the following: -Flat Rate DID's in lots of areas -GOOD customer service/support with quick response times -Toll Free DID's at a reasonable rate -Reliable/Redundant network and availability etc. So far I have tested 4 providers which I will not mention here. I have found two

DID not working? + sendmail problems
I have a box running *@Home 1.0 and I noticed today when I went to change some settings to do with the DID's that it is no longer detecting the different lines. I have a Digium 4 port line card and Im pretty sure that the DID's used to work when I used fxs_ks signaling on them. However I changed to fxs_ls signaling because the ks wasn't detecting when people were hanging up properly.

Opinions on the best wholesale origination/term providers
I've been losing patience with my current provider, a small company called Sellvoip. Their termination is good, and they are asterisk based, but they are understaffed and have no concept of customer service. So I'm shopping. I am interested in the opinions of others on the providers they work with. Here are my criteria, roughly in order a) Decent quality, low latency. In

'Hangup' not hanging-up, is this intended behaviour?
Greetings folks; I have a bit of a conundrum, and I can't tell if Asterisk is doing something daft, or whether I'm clean missing out why it's doing what it's doing. So, I have a dialplan that looks a little like this: -------------------- [start] include => dids include => everythingelse [dids] ; Test exten => 8378,1,SetCallerID(3015551212) exten => 8378,2,Hangup

multiple provider for incoming
Matt, At some point you need to consider how much is too much... I run a call center with more then 125 commissioned phone sales reps and more than 60 customer service reps. We run dual servers, fiber from one provider and 6 bonded T1's from another provider. We purchase our so trunks from a wholesale company who is a major provider to resellers. Being so, their network is extremely

[Fwd: RE: any possibility of Vonage Integration]
I stand corrected! However you do get my point ... The bigger the company the worse it is. Having to deal with these guys is a nightmare. The company that brings me out in spots is Rogers Cable (24/7). They have this electronic air-head called "Gertrude" or something, (an android) who can't understand the word "NO" and has trouble with "YES" (actually like my

re: Sixtel Services
I'm using SixTel as a test (Opened account w/ $10) and am happy with them so far... In their basic service package, they don't charge a monthly fee, and it's outbound only, and you get charged for every minute. I paid for a DID, which is $1.50 or so per month, and it lets me receive inbound calls, which I also pay for by the minute.. I don't mind this for a service like this
