Hi, after upgrading samba from 4.1.17 to 4.1.19 on OpenSuSE 13.2, any shares offered by this machine can nolonger be accessed, when these shares contain an entry "force group" which specifies a local unix group and when there exists a unix user with the same name. ProFTP -> vsFTP Configuration Options

There is a setting in ProFTP that lets me set the default ftp login directory for a specific user and I would like to do the same with vsFTP. The reason being is I have a 'webadmin' user that I use for uploading web content. I am thinking I could make the home directory of the webadmin /var/www in

BudgeTone-102 MWI&CID with Asterisk
Hi, I'm considering giving the Grandstream BudgeTone-102 phones a try. I've been using Cisco 7960's to date, but the low cost of the Grandstream phones are hard to ignore. I have two questions: 1) Does the message waiting indicator on the BudgeTone's work with Asterisk? 2) The one line 12-digit LDC concerns me a bit. Is the LCD able to display both the CID number and name on

Connecting to multiple databases with multiple database users
Hi everyone, I was wondering what the common practice for handling multiple db users with fine grained privileges on multiple databases is. Against the often read guideline for rails users to keep with a single db as "more dbs don''t really make sense anyway", my opinion is that it DOES make sense to use more than one db schema for a number of reasons that I won''t

PSTN calls are quiet
Sip to sip calls are fine, both local on Asterisk and over a SIP gateway, however some people who call on the PSTN line say we are very queit and vice versa, can the volume be turned up on the PSTN line? The volume buttons on the VoIP phones only turns up the others voice, so this is a fix for us, but how do I make our voices louder for the people on the PSTN line? Thanks. Paul.

Grandstream Budgetone-102 client cannot register

Asterisk/Grandstream Budgetone disconnect issue
I am setting up a small Asterisk system for use at home. I have one Budgetone 101, one Cisco 7960 and two Xten lite softphones. So far everything is working expect for an issue with the Budgetone. When a call is placed between the Budgetone and any other phone, the call is setup and sounds good. If I hang-up on the Budgetone, everything is ok. If I hang up on the other phone, the Budgetone

Grandstream BudgeTone 102 initial experiences
Just to toss in my very limited experiences with the Grandstream phone-- I haven't tested it enough to really know nor is my Asterisk config set up enough to fully try all the features. Mostly, it just works. It was very easy to configure and get running. I've been toting it around to clients as a show and tell exhibit and it has helped get people excited about the possibilities. BudgeTone 100 Woes
I'm using 1 BudgeTone 100 IP Phone and a Sipura 2000 for all my old analog phones. The analog phones with the Sipura seem to work great. Voice quality is fine on both ends on the Sipura. I'm using the Teliax service and I use the Ulaw codec for all phones. However, I'm struggling with the BudgeTone 100. On my end, I find there is lot's of voice cut outs. I'm told my

MusicOnHold (MOH) silent on BudgeTone-100 only.
I have the MusicOnHold feature working great when called from ATA-186 extensions. It's pretty cool. However, when I call from a BudgeTone-100 phone, no music is heard -- instead it continues the ringing feedback and acts like the call is unanswered. At the same time, I can call from (multiple) ATA-186 extensions and hear music as long as I like. How can I debug this? As far as I can tell,

BudgeTone NAT issues
Just for the record and to possibly help with others who get BudgeTone phones. My asterisk box is behind NAT, and I use Vonage, NuFone, and iconnecthere for my "POTS backhaul." On the front end I have an ATA186, a Digium TDM20, and now a BudgeTone 102. The BudgeTone definitely has issues wrt the RTP stream and NATting, although unfortunately I haven't yet been able to dig

Dead Budgetone-101?
Hi Folks, Since there isn't a grandstream forum AFAIK I guess someone here may be able to shed some light on this. Apologies if this is viewed as offtopic.. I think I may have killed the firmware on my Grandstream Budgetone 101. I found a source for the 1.0.5.30 firmware and made the files available over tftp. The phone downloaded the files but now doesn't boot and hangs with a blank

Budgetone and Voicemail
I have a problem with using voicemail on the Budgetone phones. When entering the mailbox and password, sometimes some keys will register multiple times (as shown on console when it says no such user in config file) and sometimes some keys won't even register at all. It seems totally random. Has anyone seen this problem? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Brian
