Port density: DS3 cards?
Obviously, there are no DS3 TDM cards that are currently compatible
with Zap channels. (or are there?)
Does anyone know of an inexpensive DS3 card that could perhaps be
used with Asterisk if one were to try to port the Zap drivers to such
a card? PCI, of course, would be the bus of choice.
I think there are quite a few discouraging comments to be made on
that question. Firstly, most

anyone using SIP trunks from Time Warner Telecom?
I am currently using a T1 PRI from TWTelecom for DID and outgoing
calls, but I recently discovered that they're offering call
termination/origination over SIP trunks in my area now. If they could
deliver these SIP trunks to me over a guaranteed-QoS circuit, this
would be of great interest to me. We're already using a DS3 circuit
from TW for our internet uplink, so I'd imagine it

DS3 Media Gateway
Is anyone using a media gateway with a DS3 for TDM/PSTN access? I am
trying to determine the best way to scale Asterisk beyond 4 PRI's.
What about the TNT Max? Can it be configured with a DS3 PSTN interface,
the appropriate software and hardware, and Ethernet ports to support
SIP-PSTN/DS3 media gateway services for multiple * boxes?
What about TNT - SER - * ?
Is there anyone here with real

OT: DS3 -> VoIP Hardware Recommendations
Hello all,
We are looking for some hardware requirements/recommendations to be
able to handle a full DS3's worth of TDM -> VoIP traffic. The DS3 would
bring 24 calls per T1 x 28 T1s = 672 simultaneous calls. We would then
need to convert those calls into G729 SIP VoIP calls to send to our
asterisk box over ethernet. Since everything is going in/out of asterisk
is 729, and no features

RE: Asterisk-Users digest, Vol 1 #3373 - 14 msgs
Can anybody recommend a good web interface for asterisk that actually works.
I am looking for a web interface that can show how many callers are on the phone, should be able to transfer the calls and disconnect. I have tried using the flash operator but has been unsuccessful in making it work.
thanks

DS3 capacity calls using asterisk
Hi All,
We are trying to implement a DS3 capacity calls (672 concurrent calls) using
asterisk server. I wanted to ask are there any compatible DS3 cards with
asterisk? I tried searching a lot but could find DS3000P from digium but
unable to get this product. Does anybody have any idea of having any DS3
card in asterisk box so as to handle around 600 calls?
Thanks
Sandesh

PRI - DS3 Calls Dropped
I have a customer installation with an Adtran DS3 mux. The DS1's go into my Asterisk servers that run IVR/Call recorders. The DS3 provider is Qwest, and they tell me that they routinely drop the DS3 service to redundant back-up's and that this is a common practice that happens thousands of times to DS3 lines daily across the US without any service interruptions. They say that the

Options for DS3 to SIP
Does anyone have any hardware recommendations for a device to take an
incoming DS3 circuit and give me SIP that I can point to my Asterisk
servers. Currently doing DS3 to Adtran but I want to get away from
having PRI cards in all my Asterisk boxes. From looking around I've
found some people using:

Big practical systems
I don't want to start the "How many calls can Asterisk handle?" discussion
or "How many angels can stand on the point of a pin?" discussion either.
But can anyone contribute some practical knowledge of systems that take in
channel bank T1s or DS3s from "far away", and process the calls?
I am looking for real world, been there, done that, or "check the

OT: Lucent, Cisco, DS3 and SS7
I've posted this before but before it was just wishful thinking. But now
it has become a real need.
Our boss has a 5 year grudge against Lucent. They had a Lucent here that
would simply stop processing calls. No alarms. No nothing. I'm sure that
in 5 years, new software has been released.

xyplot - help with multiple Y's vs. X of a member data in multiple panels
Dear R experts,
Wish you all a HAPPY NEW YEAR!
How do I go about plotting (using lattice) overlays of an ID (group=ID)
observed, fitted data in each panel of a multiple panel plot (each panel
identified by DS1 + DS2 + DS3)? "x" variable is X1 in the accompanying
section of a dataset. each individual is identified by color and Y's are
identified by "pch" or "lty".

OT: Are you using a Lucent?
Is anyone out there using Lucent brand equipment to handle an incomming
DS3, converting all 672 calls to SIP (as G729) and sending those to
Asterisk/SER over ethernet?
If you are and are willing to speak to my boss about your experiences
(over the phone) with it, please contact me off list.
We have a possible contract with a local CLEC to handle their long
distance, and they want to send to

Woodpeckers Revisited
Just when I thought I couldn't be wrong, I was wrong. We have
woodpeckers that drill into the arial telephone cables, and water seeps
through the holes and partially grounds the tip and/or ring wires
causing hum. I thought the hum/buz on my lines was a telco problem.
The Qwest HQ noise team assures me that my lines are within spec. Sure
enough, when I listen on the test set the lines

Interface card for Euro-ISDN (BRI)
Hi,
I'm looking for an interface card for termination of Euro-ISDN2 (BRI)
lines.
That is ISDN lines from the telco into my Asterisk box.
Any recommendations, good/bad expiriences ?
At present I'm looking at cards from BeroNet and Junghanns.
Cheers,

which TDM to use? DID line from telco with no dial tone and no voltage
as my first project with *, i would like to replace our old
neax2400(sds) with an * server.
i've got an X100p and a TDM400 on hand already.
for the CO lines, the X100p works ok with fxsks signaling though there
are still strange
things happening every now and again but more testing is on the way.
my real big problem is the DID lines which our telcos call DDI lines;

Systems Admin; Telecom Newbie - What do I need?
Hi, folks. I am planning on implementing Asterisk in 2006, and need
to budget for it now, so I need to know what I'll need to get. My
company has about 50 users, and is currently languishing on a very
old Comdial PBX. All of our client computers are Macs; our servers
are mostly OS X, with a couple Debians and a Red Hat.
I am thoroughly experienced at systems administration, and can
