FXO/FXS card
Hi, I thought I remember seeing somewhere on the Asterisk website a card that had 16 ports fxo or fxs, that was user selectable with straps on the card. Am I going crazy, I can't seem to find it now. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... smbpasswd produces INCORRECT sambaNTPasswd hash on ppc (yellowdog 4.0 on xserve G5)
I'm having trouble setting up samba as a PDC on an apple xserve, using yellowdog linux 4.0. After a lot of thrashing, I believe the problem may be smbpasswd generating the wrong NT hash. Running smbpasswd on a redhat box (intel architecture) produces the follow LDAP entry: dn: uid=testuser2,ou=Users,dc=allstate,dc=network objectClass: top objectClass: inetOrgPerson objectClass: posixAccount

Integration with Altigen
I would like to integrate * with an existing Altigen PBX. I want to spend as little money as possible to make it happen. My main goal is to inexpensively connect a branch office to the phone system. Eventually I would like to replace the Altigen system with an Asterisk server so I don't want to spend any money on Altigen hardware. Currently the Altigen has analog interfaces with a couple

Linux on an ancient Macintosh G5?
Has anyone experienced the conversion of the aluminum chassis Mac G5 to a Linux box? Curious in Pennsylvania. I need to obtain the power cable somewhere to try it. It is a 64-bit monster, so seems like it is worth trying if I can find the weird cable it needs. No luck to date regarding the cable. Thanks. The Bears will never win until number six leaves.

PowerEdge R510 with PERC H200/H700 with ZFS
Anyone have any experience with a R510 with the PERC H200/H700 controller with ZFS? My perception is that Dell doesn''t play well with OpenSolaris. Thanks, Geoff

a single nfs file system shared out twice with different permissions
I am trying to configure a system where I have two different NFS shares which point to the same directory. The idea is if you come in via one path, you will have read-only access and can''t delete any files, if you come in the 2nd path, then you will have read/write access. For example, create the read/write nfs share: zfs create tank/snapshots zfs set sharenfs=on tank/snapshots root

Newbie question: ZFS on Xserve RAID with Solaris 10
--Apologies if you get two copies of this message - it was submitted for moderation and hasn''t appeared on the list in two days, so I''m resubmitting. Hi all, Just a quick question. Is it possible to utilise an Apple Xserve RAID as an array for use with ZFS with RAID-Z in Solaris? I''ve seen various mentions of ''zfs'' and ''xserve

how to keep Asterisk up to date on many servers
Hi Everyone. Asterisk is one of those applications that need to be built from cvs on a regular basis to keep up with the changes. I have always used package management tools like apt. How does everyone manage their Asterisk servers? Geoff

Ruby IO on brand new xserve with Leopard Server
Hi I''m using princexml pdf generation in one of our apps and bump into this very weird problem. On our ubuntu box and local machines (MacBook Pro) pdfs are generated flawlessly. On the production xserve (running the rails app in production mode on a mongrel cluster), a 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon, strange things start happening. The following sections give back nil values in

Question on hardware for site
For a medium-sized website, does one machine for database server (either mysql or postgres) and another for the web server (lighttpd) sound ok? How much traffic could I expect to handle? (I know it depends on the application, but some rough estimates would be nice) Joe

Centos 6.4 on Xserve, IPMI error
Hello! I'm trying to install Centos 6.4 64 bit on this Xserve: http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/xserve/specs/xserve-intel-xeon-2.8-eight-core-specs.html I got a bootloader from: http://blog.christophersmart.com/2009/07/23/linux-on-an-apple-xserve-efi-only-machine/ as none of the official Centos releases (full, minimal, network 64 bit) boot on this machine. They all crash when loading

Xserve, USB, NUT
Hi - I have NUT running very nicely on a serial port on one of my OpenBSD servers, and using hidups on a RHEL4 box. Now I'd like to run it on two Macs, a PowerMac and an XServe G4. What is the USB port I need to configure, and do I need the newhidups driver? Thanks in advance for the help! Ted

Single or Dual Processor? High volume MeetM e
I'm trying to get a souped-up test machine(G5 Xserve) from Terrasoft to do some testing in a few weeks. If/when I actually get it I'll certainly post the results here. In theory the G5 should mop the floor with the Intel for high-volume Asterisk Zaptel usage, and I have heard from several Mac-heads that they have run three quad T1 digium cards on the Mac platform with no problems.

SIP or IAX client written in C
I am looking to make a linux application that will use a SIP or IAX clinet to connect to my Asterisk server and make calls. I would like it to be written in C, but beggers can't be choosers. Any information that would help me with my development would be appreciated. If you know of a project that is already basically made, feel free to point me in the right direction and I will be off your

Music on hold and conferencing on OS X
We're setting up asterisk at the office (really doing some testing right now) and it is going to be hosted on a dual G5 XServe running OS X. We're an apple certified solutions provider, etc. so we want to build all our stuff on apple hardware and software. Anyway, the last sticking point is moh and meetme. Is there any solution to get moh and meetme working on OS X? Meetme

Survey: Favored Rails Production Environment
We''re trying to set up a colocated server for deploying a Rails application or three. Right now I''m undecided between a PC-based server running FreeBSD and an Xserve running OS X. I''ve never colocated before so I''m wondering if anyone has stories, tips, or could say what their preferred OS is for running Rails. I''m also wondering how performance of

Samba 3 vs 4, User Maintenance
Hey all, We are currently using an Apple XServe G5 as a PDC for 150 Windows XP Pro machines. Everything worked well (sorta) under OS X 10.4 (Tiger) but when we upgraded to 10.5 (Leopard) it just fell apart. I reinstalled the OS several times and tried everything I could to get it to work properly (i.e. log in more than 20 machines at once). We have even opened a ticket with Apple to

xServes are dead ;-( / SAN Question
Hi ! As some of you might know, Apple has discontinued it's xServes server as of january 31st 2011. We have a server rack with 12 xserves ranging from dual G5's to dual quand-core xeon lastest generation, 3 xserve-raid and one activeraid 16 TB disk enclosure. We also use xSan to access a shared file system among the servers. Services are run from this shared filesystem, spreaded
