Newbie question
I have an ATA-186 in a SIP configuration (following Shawn Djernes how-to), but I get the following error at the asterisk console when I try to call the phone connected to the ATA: ioctl(ZT_LOADZONE) failed: Inappropriate ioctl for device Failed to register zone 'United States / North America': No data available Everything works if I remove indications.conf from /etc/asterisk -

ZAP device reference in Zaptel 1.4 - SIMILAR
Well, I'm experiencing a similar problem with my setup... debian etch, asterisk 1.4.2, zaptel 1.4.1, ... I cannot find the chan_zap.so module file anywhere, tried recompiling with zaptel 1.4.0... no change... I tried 'make menuselect', and going to the channels-part, chan_zap is marked XXX -> dependencies missing: and this is the message for it, as an explanation. Zapata Telephony

Call limit function on sip channel to external pop
Hi, We've been using asterisk as our main telephone-communications platform for years now, and we wrote several extra scripts and features for it. Now we 're looking for a solution to limit the number of channels going to an external SIP provider. We recently upgraded our system from asterisk 1.0 to 1.2(.9 now) to be able to use such features, but nothing helped... When we configure a new

x100p not showing in core show channels
Hi, I recently decided to change my setup from AsteriskNow to plain-asterisk 1.4, which I wanted to set up and configure myself on a server running Debian Etch 64bit version. Hardware: Asrock motherboard, model 775Dual880-Pro, with a Celeron D running at 2.8GHz, 1GB memory, standard Nvidia GF4MX videocard, and one X100P clone card. Running the AsteriskNow, everything worked fine, except for

deny new connections
Hi people, I was wondering: is it possible to deny all new connections to samba, but keep the current connections working ? We have some applications running from a samba share. To update the application everybody needs to close it. Since we have almost 1000 concurrent users, 24/7, it is difficult to keep them out. My solution now is: - Communicating the downtime and provide a time

How to allow specific services for machines in LAN behind router?
Hi I know I still need to learn a lot about firewalls so if I''ve missed some doc I should have read don''t hesitate to point it out to me. I have set up shorewall on my desktop and my laptop and everything appears to be working fine but now I''d like to allow certain services (like shh, rsync, unison, http) between these two PC''s. My LAN looks like this:

about filtering and dovecot
Hi I would like to set up a local mailserver but I'm getting lost with all the available options. As I have already decided to use dovecot I hope someone here will be able to point me to the right docs/HOWTO's/... Here's my wish-list: 1) download mail from my ISP's POP3-server 2) scan with spamassassin 3) scan with ClamAV 4) filter messages (mailing lists/sender/...) 5) store

Vorbis usage in internet broadcasts
Hi. Just for the fun of trying something new, I've compiled a list of Ogg/Vorbis radio stations on the internet. However, I must say I didn't get really far. ( http://www.ai.rug.nl/~bneijt/links/oggradiolist.xml ) Does anybody know a good resource/listing of ogg streaming (with preferably vorbis inside) radio stations? Bram Neijt

problem with --delete if I sync part of a dir
Hi, I'm using rsync for a couple of things but I am at a point where I could not find a solution for my problem. this is what I want to do: rsync only the files i_* from a directory from machine A to machine Bi and delete them from machine B if they on longer exist on machine A. so I use the command: rsync -azv --stats -e ssh --delete i_* user@host:/dir/ When using this command the files

configuration problem: maildir folders and messages not found
Hi Perhaps I've been going too far OT in my previous thread or perhaps I just didn't explain my problem clear enough so forgive me for trying again. I have configured fetchmail to fetch my mail from my ISP's POP3-server. I have set up procmail to filter messages and deliver all non-filtered messages to the folder ".IN-catchall/" in "$HOME/Maildir" After sending

Samba3 on multiple networks, how to make it hand out the correct IP?
Hi, My Samba 4.1.x server is connected to two networks, one in the 192.168.* range (wired) and one in the 10.* range (wifi). The clients on either network normally cannot reach each other. I noticed Samba hands out (eg: for dcname.company.net) it's IP's from both ranges to clients on both sides. So the 192.168.* clients get two A records: 192.168.1.1 & 10.0.0.2. I noticed that,
