Problem with overhead paging with Alsa and OSS
I recently upgraded a server to Asterisk 1.4.22 with OpenR2.
Previously I was using 1.4.18. It seems that 1.4.22 has a big bug using
chan_alsa.so for overhead paging. After rebooting the server it would
work once or twice and then I just got an error on the CLI:
[Jan 7 10:35:14] ERROR[26164]: chan_alsa.c:693 alsa_read: Read error:

Asterisk ALSA module not working
Asterisk doesn't work with the latest CVS of ALSA (2003-06-24) . The
module chan_alsa.so won't load even if the oss module, chan_oss.so,
isn't loaded. There are no error messages.
I've been chasing ALSA/Asterisk/client problems in one form or another
for some time now. In previous versions of Asterisk and ALSA -- i.e.,
last week -- I could load either chan_oss.so or

Asterisk throws error using the alsa module
Hello,
I can't get the sound over alsa to work with Asterisk.
My current version is 1.4.21.2~dfsg-3 running on debian stable.
All settings are the default ones with exception of:
/etc/asterisk/modules.conf:
load => chan_alsa.so
noload => chan_oss.so
/etc/asterisk/alsa.conf:
input_device=default
output_device=default

chan_oss.c: Unable to register channel type 'OSS'
Hi list!
Currently I use Asterisk 1.8.30.0 on an OpenWRT-Switch.
Now I want to change to Asterisk 13.14.1 on a Banana PI (with
Armbian/Debian 9).
Well, I copied the configuration and changed what needed, so
basically, it works, at least with my tests.
But when Asterisk will be started, in the message log I get this error:

console dsp
I am trying to get a console/dsp application going with
1.4.18 and not hearing any audio. In the CLI I see the call coming in,
I see the Dial(Console/dsp)
I see <auto answered>
I see ALSA default
but I hear no audio.
What can I do to tell what is happening here.
I have in modules.conf:
noload chan_oss.so
load chan_alsa.so
For kicks I tried it the other way to noload chan_alsa.so and load

But I searched a little bit and I really don't think, I need this module...

No sound from playback and voicemail
Hello,
I have a strange situation:
I can talk to other SIP phones and via ISDN to the outside, but I don't hear
playbacks or the voicemail messages.
Asterisk show in the cli, that the corresponding files are played, but I hear
nothing at all.
Here is as simple example:
[monkeys]
??? exten => 99,1,ANSWER()
??? exten => 99,2,PLAYBACK(tt-monkeys)
??? exten => 99,3,HANGUP()

Configuring TDM40B and X100P
Hi,
I get the following message when I try to run Asterisk. This happened after I
changed some of the configuration files: extensions.conf, zaptel.conf and
zapata.conf. I have both TDM40B and X100P cards and am trying to use them
together. Please let me know if there is something else I should do.
Thnx, Gladys

Console ALSA Sound
Hi
... probably one of those RTFM kind of questions (while I'd be happy to know
where a good reference "FM" is :-) )
Has anyone an idea on how to disable the console sound driver. My problem is
that a running asterisk is muting my speakers.
Thank you in advance for your help

FreeBSD 100% cpu
Compiled Asterisk from FreeBSD port (0.9.0_2)
When I start asterisk it uses 100% cpu. Searches on Google
say to comment the noload => chan_oss.so in modules.conf
But this is already commented. Make.conf contains some
optimizations.
modules.conf:

;
; If you want, load the GTK console right away.

now.
Thanks!

Problem locating stream files
Hi *,
I have set up a very simple asterisk configuration where I intend to be redirected to the
voicemail whenever I dial 100 with my kphone SIP client. The problem is that asterisk can not find
the stream 'vm-theperson'. I have made a non-standard installation (since I am just testing), and
that file is located in /mnt/tr2/fake_root/installed/usr/local/var/lib/asterisk/sounds.

Has anybody got a hint?
