Asterisk Pbx Manager Equivalent (in plain text - apologies to those that dont like HTML mail!!)
http://www.thirdlane.com/screenshots.htm (Asterisk PBX Manager from
Thirdlane) looks like a great program for "eye candy configuration" of
Asterisk.
However it costs lost of $, and I'm currently only an "experimenter" so to
speak.
Anyone advice of a decent alternative that is similar?? Currently, we only
have VOIP connections, but will have a couple of Digium

PBX selection
The solution you choose should be based on many factors which should include your business requirements, team's experience, your budget, growth expectations and more.
You can choose Asterisk or Freeswitch as a platform and start building on that - but it is not simple and being new to VoIP you are likely to make mistakes. The "do-it-yourself" approach will some money initially, but

how to automatically select certain columns using for loop in dataframe
Hi,
I am trying to display / print certain columns in my data frame that share
certain condition (for example, part of the column name). I am using for
loop, as follow:
# below is the sample data structure
all.data <- data.frame( NUM_A = 1:5, NAME_A = c("Andy", "Andrew", "Angus",
"Alex", "Argo"),
NUM_B = 1:5, NAME_B =

Definity PBX with a T100P & TN767E
Hey everybody,
I'm looking for some information that I'm not finding by searching the
2004 Asterisk archives.
I'm currently playing with a Digium T100P card and 2 Grandstream phones,
things are working well. I wanted to move on to linking our Definity
G3R Rev 8.2 to the T100P. Everything that I've read so far shows that
you need a TN464 to accomplish this. We have a TN767E

Yeah, I wouldn't mind so much if it had actually answered the original
poster's query. "Switch to our proprietary solution and we can offer you
this proprietary solution" isn't a contribution, it's an ad.

softphone instead of desktop phones
Thirdlane Connect can be used as a softphone. It works in modern browsers (no installation is required), on Mac, Windows and Linux desktops, and on mobile phones.
Besides basic softphone functionality, it provides instant messaging, group chat (channels), voice and video conferencing, and screen sharing. It integrates with a variety of applications and CRMs such as Salesforce, Zoho, Zendesk,

Configure WAN Phone
Hi,
I am relatively new to Asterisk and am looking for help in configuring an IP
based phone. This phone is not on the same subnet as the PBX. I read that
there could be an issue with NAT so I am bypassing this by connecting
temporarily with an Internet IP. So far, I have configured the server
extension with the phone MAC address along with configuring the phone unit
with IP, Gateway and SIP

how do I stop automount of Hitichi Lifestudio USB drive
Most of the time, if I plug a USB drive into my computer,
gnome/centos/whatever will ask me what I want to do with it.
With a Hitachi Lifestudio, all the partitions mount without asking me.
How do I stop that behavior?
My suspicion is that the same kind of
mechanism is what makes candy drops work.
So far as I know, my backup drive is not candy,
but I would still like to be able to control my

Win2k, Domain logon, permissions
I first asked this question at the end of October, got a response which
didn't solve the problem, and have finally got back to the issue now.
I'm running 2.2.7a, recently upgraded from 2.2.0 as Domain Logons for
Win2K were suspected to be part of my problem. Anyway, the issue
relates to AutoCAD (actually a vertical product called Land3) and a
command which works with winXX boxes, but

Has anyone already worked out the files involved in changing from the
rather pedestrian screensaver to some more pleasing eye candy like

Integrics is pleased to announce version 2.0 of Enswitch, the most
integrated platform available for offering commercial telephony services
such as ITSP, hosted PBX, calling cards, call shops, number translation

Enswitch was formerly known as ITSP in a box, and Enswitch 2.0 is
effectively the same product as ITSP 1.7. The product has been rebranded

General compiz questions
I've been using compiz on KDE for a while now and I like the eye
candy. Thanks to all who made this possible. I'm usually a no-nonsense
guy who doesn't care about eye candy (I'm not even using a background
picture because I'm worried about the memory it'll use (on a machine
with 2 GB of RAM) :) ) but compiz stormed (sic!) my defences.
Now for my questions:
1. compiz is a
