Will this ISDN card work for me?
I'm looking for an ISDN card that will work for me using either the
i4l or capi with asterisk under Linux. I'm in the US, so I need an
ISDN-U interface.
Can anyone tell me if this card will work for me?

Words for Allison(?)
I've been looking at the weather vocabulary in asterisk-sounds in CVS.
I've run into a few hitches with words I can't seem to find. So far, I'm
looking for 'point' (for constructing floating point numbers) and 'around'
as in "high around 70" (don't I wish). Any chance of getting these?
While I'm on the subject, I'd be very interested in a

Some (lack of) answers regarding the wakeup call application...
Since I only seem to get questions, and no feedback, from the Wiki page,
I'll ask here. There seems to be no lack of opinions here...
I have a working wakeup call system on my home * system. The architecture
is something I'm not perfectly happy with, though. There are two AGI
scripts, written in Perl, which handle (a) scheduling, confirming,
and cancelling a wakeup call, and (b) the

Compiling while * is running
I just fetched today's cvs (1/30/04 11:10:31). Compiles/installs on my
test machine (ASUS A7V, 900 MHZ). However, If I try to compile on my
production machine (Elite K7S5A, 2.4GHz, 512MB) while * is running the
zaptel and asterisk compiles seg fault. I am assuming that they will
compile correctly if I bring down * and rmmod the zaptel driver. 0.7.1
compiled and is now running.

Voice Prompt Info
I am trying to put together a list of 'departments' to request as voice
prompts. I have the biggies (sales, accounting, shipping, etc...) but I
want to make sure I do not miss any. If anyone anyone has some
suggestions (Ha... that is like going to an NRA meeting ans asking if
anybody has a gun :-) ) please forward them to me (and / or post here

8 lines - best approach
I have 8 lines coming into an existing PBX system and am looking for a cost
effective way to replace the existing system with Asterisk. We need some of
the features in Asterisk, including its ability to support remote offices
(long distance savings).
At first glance this appears to require a T100P card and a channel bank, but
that seems rather expensive. My estimated price on that would be

3.0.4: smbd's + nscd's = 100% CPU; load > 4
Hi Everyone,
the new 3.0.4 Samba installation seems to work find
except that from time to time but at least a couple
of times a day one or more smbd processes start
running at 20%-40% CPU each and 6 nscd processes
then share the remaining CPU power. System 70%-80%
users the rest 20%-30%. Load rises fast to over 4.
I'm sure that each such process is just idling,
but why does it engage so much

RE: RE: VLAN and BRIDGE HELP
While I am still in the process of working through this here are the steps I am taking to set up each machine.
1) Since each of my servers have multiple NIC ports I bond them together (see page 34 of the Administrators Guide) first. This is best down from the physical server and not via the remote console. If you do it remotely you will then have to reconfigure the management port before

Dell 6450 / TE405p
I'm having some trouble here - need some help!
I've just bought a TE405p (32-bit 5V), but cannot get it working in a dell
6450. The dell has (from tech specs) "three peer PCI buses: two 64-bit buses
and one 32-bit bus Expansion slots seven hot-pluggable PCI slots (two
64-bit/66 MHz, four 64-bit/33 MHz, and one 32-bit/33 MHz)"
I cannot get the card working in any of the slots.

missing ring-tone
Hi there
I've got a rather irritating problem with my Asterisk server.
Whenever someone tries to call me, the don't get the usual "ring-tone" when
they wait for me to pickup the phone.
I don't know if I've disabled this feature somewhere in my configuration
files.
Since I'm in Denmark, I've got an entry in the indications.conf file

Music instead of Tunes
Hello,
more and more operators in Europe offer music instead of ring tunes.
E.g. instead of the 400 Hz or whatever tunes, the caller will hear J-Lo,
or Mozart.... Currently I will have to answer the line to do that. Is
there a way to do this with asterisk?
Regards,
Marc

Ok, starting to get cheesed off and feeling rather silly.

works no problem

chan_skinny and firmware upgrade
Hello all,
I am trying to upgrade the firmware on my cisco 7910 without using CCM. I was told that
chan skinny is possibly capable of doing that and would like to make
sure.
I have P00405000600 firmware which I have put in version in
skinny.conf. the phone basiclaly stops at verifying load. tcpdump
shows nothing happening apart from small amount of traffic to port
2000 (skinny).
Does anyone

Providing Telewest in the UK with per extens ion outbound callerID
Would be nice to do both (type 2 and 3 I believe in Oftel terms), but I'd
accept just our DDI if that was all I could get.

mpg123 - multiple instances, taxing CPU
Is there any reason why there should ever be more than 1 instance of mpg123
running on a * server?
I just did an 'uptime' and noticed all 3 of my loads where over 3.00.
'top' showed 8 mpg123 processes all processing the same 3 songs (our
background music).
I tried to kill one of them but another one spawned in its place.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Matthew

recursibve listing of file owner, possible?
Hi,
I'm writing a utility that needs to smbmount various shares from servers in numerous domains (no problem, all working) and then list the contents of the directories (no problem again) and obtain the windows file owner in a textual form.....
Any ideas how I can achieve the last part efficiently?
I see that smbcacls can do it 1 file at a time, I really need a way of doing it

PRI problems (telewest -> * -> LG GDK 186)
Hi,
?
I'm trying to figure out what the issue is splicing Asterisk between our
Telewest PRI and a GDK-186 with a PRI card.
?
We're using the Digium TE405P
?
Our telco provider is Telewest, and Telco directly into switch is fine.
?
When I splice Asterisk in, I can make and receive calls from Asterisk
extensions, I can make outbound calls from the GDK, but inbound calls do not
seem to pass

Bridged PRI calls - processor involvement?
On a zaptel TE410p, when a call is bridged PRI - PRI how much involvement does the processor have?
We're now seeing chunks of missing audio and I can't tell whether this is due to a kernel upgrade or to a zaptel/libpri/asterisk upgrade.
I'm not seeing missed interrupts (from a cat of the proc/zaptel files), any other ideas on how I could go about tracking this down?
