X100P & T100P knock-off boards
Do they fall under FCC certification if they're built to the same specifications as the ones from Digium? If I build my own T100Ps from the schematics and board layouts that are available, are they legal to plug into the PSTN?

Can isdn data calls routed through 2 t100p's
I have a pri comming into a t100p in my asterisk box. I have a second t100p configured as pri_net connected to a nas server. I can route modem calls to the NAS with no problem, but I am concerned about isdn data connections. Will asterisk route 64k isdn calls between 2 t100p's? Also, should I expect worse modem connections than normal? Chad Sawyer -------------- next part --------------

different font and window behaviour w/ diff X servers
Hi: Like Gerard Patel mentioned on the developer's list I can confirm that Wine's behaviour _is_ now very dependant on which X server is used and to top it: also this behaviour is varying quite a bit depending on the Windows application which is run. I have font problems with XF86_SVGA on a Trident Video-107PCI (cheapy-cheapy) and not with XF86_S3 on a Diamond 2000 3D (old). The problem

Echo problem update - POSSIBLE SOLUTION
After speaking with several people, and even participating in a forum of several other people with echo issues, I thought I'd share what we've done (well actually what our chief R&D engineer, Brett Bourn has done...) First let me say that normal cheapy PC hardware couldn't be made to function with out echo. We tried on both the single port Digium T1 card and the 4 port Digium T1

Experiences with CentOS & MacBook Pro?
Ok, I'm finally of a mindset to replace my now tired, aging Dell Inspiron 600m. I'm currently running Fedora Core on it, and am fairly happy with the software. Has anybody used CentOS on a Macbook Pro? What gotchas are there? (The first that comes to mind is the lack of a right mousebutton) Scouting on the Internet, I've seen that some people have trouble getting sound to work.

Installation Configuration Questions
I am new to Asterisk (and phone systems for that matter) and was looking for guidance. My company is looking at installing a new phone system/PBX in our new location and I am trying to convince them to go with the Asterisk PBX. I see on http://www.asterisk.org/index.php?menu=features <http://www.asterisk.org/index.php?menu=features> what features are available but my biggest problem right

Curious: Schema refresh needed 1 != 2
Hi All, I upgraded one of our 2 DC's from 4.6.8 to 4.7.2. I am scouting the log for post upgrade errors and seeing this entry. Should I be concerned? I should note, I ran a samba-tool dbcheck --cross-ncs and samba-tool dbcheck --cross-ncs --fix after the upgrade. (6 errors found and fixed) I am not seeing any adverse effects yet. Kind regards

Maybe a little OT??--- Obtaining DIDs in Hyderabad, India
Hello, I originally thought I should post to the biz list but I am not looking for offers of DID's, I am looking for actual user experiences/information on obtaining a DID for an Office I am working with in Hyderabad, India. Can anyone offer recommendations based on personal experience of where I might be able to obtain said DID? This will be 90% inbound traffic and only within India. If

Couple quick questions (maybe ;)
I have a couple questions: 1) how can i allow users who are previously authenticated against an NT server to print to a shared printer without being prompt for a password? If i remove the "guest ok" or "public" (set them to "no"), then the users get prompted for a password. They have not authenticated against the samba server, just the NT domain controller. is

Confidence intervals in Ripley's K function - a little challenge...
I have plotted Ripley's K function for a spatial point pattern for 12 plots, with 39 Monte Carlo simulations for complete spatial randomness (CSR). I would like to analyse these data as follows: I would like to know for which plots the Ripley's K function deviates from CSR at a number of confidence intervals, namely 90%, 95% and 99%. I realise that simulation envelope I have produced

I was implementing dirty checking for an application, and I found something that is a little counterintuitive. Let me start with a quick quiz: bob=User.find(1) alice=User.find(2) trip=Trip.new trip.driver=bob old_driver=trip.driver trip.driver=alice In this example, who is old_driver? If you guessed Alice, you''re right. Inside associations.rb, the mutator is defined as:

Fw: a bit frightened, guys
Hi, I believe the issues raised by this message are the same as mine, more on a commercial sense than for self use, but mostly the same. I've seen posts where real-life installations are mentioned, but not a reference to how Asterisk is working on production (and productive) environments. Any experiences would be very welcome I believe, not only on pure technical, but wider, sense. Thanks

Moving up... T1 with 50 extensions
OK, I think I'm ready for the next step from the X100P. Splitting a T1 with a T100P and a channel bank/s ~ 50 extensions. I think the existing system uses NEC phones for ~34 extensions, I don't know the specific model yet of the phones or the channel bank. If the channel bank is not compatible with Asterisk/digium what brand should I be looking at to interface best with Asterisk and

Clarifications on Pigeonhole and MySQL lookups
Hello, we're scouting if it's possible to use Pigeonhole (currently v0.3.1, as this will be provided with an upcoming Debian package) with MySQL dict lookups with the mail setup we're designing. Our (main) goals are: 1. store the filters on the database 2. allow each user to enable/disable any of the filters set we provide (it's a static set of some general filters, available

Robust M-Estimator Comparison
Hello, I'm learning about robust M-estimators right now and had settled on the "Huber Proposal 2" as implemented in MASS, but further reading made clear, that at least 2 further weighting functions (Hampel, Tukey bisquare) exist. In a post from B.D. Ripley going back to 1999 I found the following quote: >> 2) Would huber() give me results that are similar (i.e., close

Question about hardware
IF I wanted to do the whole "sophisticated telephony VoIP stuff" asterisk, what hardware would I need? I have a feeling that my fax modem is probably not going to work out. My wife and I have an income of $650 a month. After the first-of-the-month bills are payed, we're lucky if we have $100 left for food and gasoline. I need a solution that's as economical as possible. What

USB2.0/Firewire Enclosure
I (work :) bought a USB2.0/Firewire enclosure and I had a little trouble with it until I came across this page http://people.freebsd.org/~maho/USB/comment/ku350a.txt after trying the sysctl things work well. I haven't tried the USB2.0 side of it, as I don't have any USB2.0 controllers. The Firewire bit works great too (quite a bit faster than USB1 :) The enclosure in question is made
