Asterisk and Lucent APX8100 Universal Gateway
we're evaluating the use of a Lucent APX8100 E3/SS7 to SIP gateway for use in conjunction with asterisk, serving something like 4000+ lines. does anyone have experience with the APX8100 and it's integration with SIP on asterisk ? does the APX8100 handle SS7<->SIP signalling well enough to be used ? any anecdotes would be well appreciated. -- Regards,

OT: DS3 -> VoIP Hardware Recommendations
Hello all, We are looking for some hardware requirements/recommendations to be able to handle a full DS3's worth of TDM -> VoIP traffic. The DS3 would bring 24 calls per T1 x 28 T1s = 672 simultaneous calls. We would then need to convert those calls into G729 SIP VoIP calls to send to our asterisk box over ethernet. Since everything is going in/out of asterisk is 729, and no features

OT: Are you using a Lucent?
Is anyone out there using Lucent brand equipment to handle an incomming DS3, converting all 672 calls to SIP (as G729) and sending those to Asterisk/SER over ethernet? If you are and are willing to speak to my boss about your experiences (over the phone) with it, please contact me off list. We have a possible contract with a local CLEC to handle their long distance, and they want to send to

Port density: DS3 cards?
Obviously, there are no DS3 TDM cards that are currently compatible with Zap channels. (or are there?) Does anyone know of an inexpensive DS3 card that could perhaps be used with Asterisk if one were to try to port the Zap drivers to such a card? PCI, of course, would be the bus of choice. I think there are quite a few discouraging comments to be made on that question. Firstly, most

MAX PRI for single server (was: Not enoughlinesavailable for Asterisk implemetation)
If you are looking for real high density VOIP termination I would look at > something like a Lucent APX 8000, configure correctly it can pass 2500+ > g.729 calls to the PSTN course we paid lots of $ for ours. > > Chris > Chris, My experience has been that the APX and TNT products require a single SIP proxy, how are you load balancing 2500 calls? T.38 on a MAX/Lucent/Ascend TNT
Hello folks, I've been trying to get T.38 over SIP working with calls terminated by a MAX/Lucent/Ascent TNT. As far as I can tell, SIP and T.38 are actually working perfectly; however, I can't get the TNT to properly terminate a FAX call. Does anyone have a working configuration for SIP and T.38 for calls from a TNT or APX? Here's a brief description/diagram of my test setup:

DS3 capacity calls using asterisk
Hi All, We are trying to implement a DS3 capacity calls (672 concurrent calls) using asterisk server. I wanted to ask are there any compatible DS3 cards with asterisk? I tried searching a lot but could find DS3000P from digium but unable to get this product. Does anybody have any idea of having any DS3 card in asterisk box so as to handle around 600 calls? Thanks Sandesh -------------- next part

Options for DS3 to SIP
Does anyone have any hardware recommendations for a device to take an incoming DS3 circuit and give me SIP that I can point to my Asterisk servers. Currently doing DS3 to Adtran but I want to get away from having PRI cards in all my Asterisk boxes. From looking around I've found some people using: Lucent Max TNT Dialogic IMG 1010 Cisco (Not sure which model would be best for this, the

PRI - DS3 Calls Dropped
I have a customer installation with an Adtran DS3 mux. The DS1's go into my Asterisk servers that run IVR/Call recorders. The DS3 provider is Qwest, and they tell me that they routinely drop the DS3 service to redundant back-up's and that this is a common practice that happens thousands of times to DS3 lines daily across the US without any service interruptions. They say that the

Can someone give me some idea of how to accomplish this? I am using the standard configs and g711 and 729 do the same. No audio. Public IPs on both ends. No nat. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Yep anything over $7k makes it more feasible/reliable to go for multiple server multi-card solution. OT: MAX TNT and PRI calling name (CNAM) facility message
Does anyone have a MAX/APX with working ingress PRI calling name? I recently acquired a MAX TNT on the cheap and it's integrating fine except for one thing. In the 11.0.0 release notes, it is stated that ISDN calling name will, if present and permitted by presentation flags, be added to the From: and Remote-Party-ID: headers of the INVITE. I'm not able to make this happen. Pcap

any ISDN/PRI signaling experts out there?
I have officially engaged in a pissing contest with the local Telco over PRI calling name delivery. The telco publishes their calling name delivery over PRI feature as being bellcore gr-1367-core compliant. The gr-1367-core spec states that the calling name is to be included as a facility IE in the setup message, or sent in a subsequent facility IE message with an indicator in the setup message

7206 as SIP->PSTN Gateway?
All, I know you can use, say, a 2620 w/2 port FXO card as a SIP gateway. Clearly you can use the 5300, 5800, and MGX8850 too. Does anyone know which cards, if any, exist for a 7206VXR to act in a similar capacity, either as a T1/PRI, DS3, or POTS FXO/FXS? What other Cisco routers can act as SIP gateways today? Thanks, Dave
