MeetMe performance
Hey folks, Using FreeBSD 5.2.1 and I've got the current zaptel driver installed from ports (0.8_1) and current ports asterisk (1.0.1). I've set options HZ=1000 in my kernel config, recompiled and rebooted and as far as I can tell, I've done everything right but when I try to use the conference, the audio is very delayed, choppy and segmented -- totally unusable. Problems with conference on FreeBSD 5.2.1 w/* 1.0.1
Hello, I'm trying to set up a conference room. When I dial it's extension, I get an audible error saying "Not a valid conference room, please try again" followed by a disconnect. I've got debug sip peer 1001 (my X-Lite client) and I see this in the logs: (I'm pretty sure it has something to do with ztdummy, but I dunno... I have the port installed, but I

Fwd: Vorbis-java wav-ogg encoder produces distorted OGG file
Hi, I was really interested in the java version of the same since I wanted to use it in my java application in a platform independent way. Anybody who have managed to use the java port to encode wav to ogg, this is only audio, can assist me to solve my problem. I have been looking at the code and the svn but no updates seem to be available. Some guidance on what could be the problem on the source

Mouse movement only in some directions
Hi, my mouse doesn't work correctly in many games (not all). I'm using Ubuntu 10.10 and the wine1.3 (from the launchpad package). This concerns Need for Speed 2, Star Trek Bridge Commander and some others. In Star Trek Bridge Commander the mouse doesn't seem to have a right x-axis and I'm not able to click on anything. Using the Keyboard to move the cursor won't do as well. In

6.5, minor annoyances
I rebuilt my system a couple/three weeks ago, and it's running 6.5, and there's a couple of minor annoyances: first, all my xterms, when I login in from the console, always are in ~/Documents, rather than ~. The other is that, running KDE, I can't find where to turn *off* the stupid login/logout theme music.* Oh, and I get this enTHUsiastic menu, rather than the traditional one.

(inaugural?) Austin-area LLVM social
Some of my LLVM colleagues that I only seem to encounter at the annual Bay Area dev meeting live right here in Austin, TX. We should get together for a social, yeah? And I suppose there's bound to be more around here who might be interested who haven't been able to trek to San Jose. So consider this an official solicitation to Austin area LLVM fans. Write back with interest and I'l

Echo Cancellation
Hello, I am testing speex 1.1.6's echo canceller. I am using testecho.c, with a few modifications to get it to run on Windows. My problem is that I am unable to get the echo cancellation to work correctly. I am working on an audio conferencing software, and one issue we have is sometimes the microphone picks up what is being played through the headset, resulting in an echo of the other

matrix correlations with different packages
Dear all, I'm calculating matrix correlations with permutation tests and I got this funny result. All correlation coefficients are the same with mantel.test {ncf} and pcol {simba} but the two functions yield dramatically different p-values (using the same number of permutations). Could anyone please enlighten me what is causing the difference and which result I can trust? (My matrices

BackupExec 8.5/NT + Samba 2.2
Hi, Does anyone have experience with BackupExec and Samba? BackupExec refuse to access Samba shares. Windows shares are OK, but all my Samba shares are not. I have Samba on at least 2 Linux 2.4 machines + 1 on Solaris. Neither ones work with BExec. Any idea? Other have experience with BExec and Samba? I tried to install and play Star Trek Armada 2 (DirectX 8.0a) with Wine 0.9.19. No Winetools or so were used. Just plain wine. Installation worked fine. I just rejected to install DirectX 8.0a. Starting was without sound, but with movie sequences. Then it stopped. Any suggestions what to do? Here the reports: installation: err:ole:CoGetClassObject class

documentation on modifying the configure script
On second thought (unless someone is fantastically charitable), I suppose I need to seriously concentrate on modifying the current configure script to work with the current AIX operating system and compiler. Can someone direct me to documentation on configure so I can begin my trek through the wilderness? -- ==== Stewart Dean, Unix System Admin, Henderson Computer Resources Center of Bard

Can someone explain why smbmount under Samba-2.0.3 (compiled under GNU/Linux Slackware, kernel 2.2.5, egcc 2.90.29) compiles smbmount, however, when I run smbmount, it's really smbclient? If I can't use smbmount, then I can't mount my NT server. smbsh isn't worth crap, it always segfaults on me. I'm running libc5.5.46. Can anyone help me? "There are 3 things to remember
