spouse-friendly spa-3000 pstn interface
This post is simply documenting a spouse-friendly way of using the spa-3000 as both a fxs and fxo port for basic soho environments in the US, allowing asterisk to participate as needed/wanted. All home phones are connected _only_ to the spa-3000 fxs port. The incoming home pstn line is connected _only_ to the spa-3000 fxo port. Defined Line 1 (fxs) to register with asterisk via sip (extn

dataframes with only one variable
Subsetting from a dataframe with only one variable returns a vector, not a dataframe. This seems somewhat inconsistent. Wouldn't it be better if subsetting would respect the structure completely? v1<-1:4 v2<-4:1 df1<-data.frame(v1) df2<-data.frame(v1,v2) sel1<-c(TRUE,TRUE,TRUE,TRUE) > df1[sel1,] [1] 1 2 3 4 > df2[sel1,] v1 v2 1 1 4 2 2 3 3 3 2 4 4 1 -- Erich

superimposing histograms con't
Earlier, I posted the following question: I want to superimpose histograms from three populations onto the same graph, changing the shading of the bars for each population. After consulting the help files and the archives I cannot find out how to do this (seemly) simple graph. To be clear, I want - a single x axis (from -3 to 18) - three groups of bars forming the histograms of each population

Form field naming semantics question
Hi, I have a question today regarding how the various form elements in _form.rhtml are named. I understand that for a database table "persons" with a column headed by "name", then in _form.rhtml it will probably be like: <p><label for="person_name">Name><br/> <%= text_field ''person'', ''name''

IR canonicalization: select or bool math?
I have another round of questions about IR select canonicalizations. For the purity of this quiz, please disregard prior knowledge of how this is handled by instcombine or how this is lowered by your favorite target...of course we'll fix it. :) Some answers in the links below if you do want to know. Which, if any, of these is canonical? 1. Is a zext simpler than a select? a. define i32

Hello, I need some help in creating a new variable. I need to create a 'couple identifier', which gives a unique code for every couple/triple/... in a household. So, I can identify couples. To do this, I should use 4 variables: * SERIAL = a unique numeric code for each household * PERNUM = a unique numeric code for each person * SPLOC = the numeric code of the spouse in the

SPA-2000 and time of day
Kevin Walsh noted that his SPA-2000 takes time from his local NTP server in a post back on Fri June 25. Q: Where do you tell it to use NTP? I'm a bit confused as to where my SPA-2000 is currently getting its time. I told it GMT-5 in the misc section but it doesn't really tell me where its going for this. Is it just broadcasting looking for ntp? The net of my problem is that it is 1 hour

Distinctive Ring
Hi All, I was wondering what the status of distinctive ring support in Asterisk is? I had a google search & read and Mark Spencer wrote some support for it. Is distinctive ring different in every country or is it pretty standard? And for my final question, does the Wildcard FXO card support distinctive ring? Essentially what I'm trying to do is route incoming calls with ring #1 to,

Can I add distinctive ring with asterisk and TDM400?
Hello - I have a TDM400P with 2 FXO and 2 FXS modules. Feeding the FXS modules are two VOIP lines which are terminated by VOIP adapters and have regular RJ11 wires connecting to the FXS ports. Since the two different VOIP lines have different phone numbers, and I know and can tell asterisk which VOIP line is connected to which FXS port, can I cause a distinctive ring on the extensions if a call

Distinctive ringing on Cisco 79xx
Greetings, I am trying to implement distinctive ringing on a Cisco 7960. I have tried setting alert_info to chirp1 or chirp2 before dialing the phone, but it has no affect. If you have successfully implemented distinctive ringing on a 7960, I would really appreciate seeing the snipit of code that works. Wacko Distinctive Ring Patterns being detected??
Hi All, I've recently got a "second" number installed on my PSTN line, trusting the Asterisk distinctive ring detection would work as expected. It appeared to work fine at the start, as the second number generated a different ring pattern to 0,0,0 (in the console) only to realise that almost every phone call to this "second" number generated a different ring pattern.
