spandsp in 64 bit Linux on AMD64
Is there any stable version of spandsp that works on a 64 bit Linux on an AMD64 machine. When compiling version 0.0.1k I get the following error: gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I. -I -g -O2 -c testcpuid.c -MT testcpuid.lo -MD -MP -MF .deps/testcpuid.TPlo -fPIC -DPIC -o .libs/testcpuid.lo /tmp/ccXxGHg6.s: Assembler messages: /tmp/ccXxGHg6.s:8: Error: suffix or operands invalid for `pushf'

SpanDSP 0.0.2pre6 undef symbol on gentoo-ppc
Hello all: In a quest to resolve the last apparent timing problems I am having with SpanDSP I am trying out some PPC hardware, specifically a B&W G3. I am running gentoo-ppc on this system and have compiled spandsp 0.0.2pre6 along with a release version of asterisk. Zaptel device (T100P) is configured and appears to be ready to go. When loading asterisk it crashes out with the following

Problems with call files (/var/spool/asterisk/outgoing)
I've seen other posts about this problem, but I haven't found a solution. I'm dumping eight call files into the "outgoing" directory at one time. Three of the calls are successful while the other five are lost. Here is the call file: Channel: Zap/g2/3036701917 MaxRetries: 1000 RetryTime: 60 WaitTime: 45 Application: TxFAX Data: <filename>.tiff|caller Note: All

spandsp tiff debian question
oops. sent this last night - I was getting this list on an alias that I didn't send from. Hello, I am attempting to setup spandsp on debian-unstable-2.6.7-recent-HEAD. Gnome requires libtiff3g 3.6.1-1. I downloaded libtiff 3.5.7 and 3.6.0 and was able to install 3.5.7,spandsp, and reinstall asterisk. A newer Makefile.patch was needed, then I switched a few lines in the Makefile (from

How to read installed spandsp version ?
Hello, On my Lenny system, I've got libspandsp.a, libspandsp.la files and so on present in /usr/lib. How could I write a shell script that would read among those files and tell "installed spandsp is version 0.0.4pre12 or version 0.0.6pre3" ? This is something autoconf tools must be able to do but I know how to write any line of code with these tools. While at it, how is Asterisk

Fax server (TxFax) fails during transmission
I'm having an intermittent problem with fax transmissions, something I call the streaking mascara syndrome. TxFax will be part way through a transmission when something fails--on the fax printer, part of the page will have correctly printed, but the rest of the page is "streaked" to the bottom. I have several successful multi-page transmissions interspersed with streaked

CPU spikes with wcfxs loaded
I need to reopen this discussion because it's impossible to run spandsp (and VoIP) under these circumstances. With zaptel unloaded, I see the following "vmstat 1" output: no swapping, an occasional disk output, +/- 1003 interrupts/sec., less than 10 context switches/sec., CPU idle 100%. A very quiet system. I load modules zaptel and wcfxo, and the system utilization stays the

IO-APIC
I seem to have the IOAPIC interrupt controller on my x86_64 system. When I 'cat /proc/interrupts' is says IO-APIC for all devices. Also, vector 2 (cascade) is no longer listed. My Digium devices are on vectors 17 and 19, with eth0 on 18, libata on 20, and ehci_hcd on 21. It seems every device has its own interrupt vector (irq?). Should I be concerned about this? Will I be having

debug channel <n>
I can't get the "debug channel" command to work. In each case * responds with "No such channel ...". I've tried: debug channel 1 debug channel Zap/1 debug channel Zap/1-1 debug channel 25 debug channel Zap/25 debug channel Zap/25-1 etc. The "zap show channels" command shows all channels to be present. Am I using the correct syntax? Thanks, -- Michael

Problem with fax tone (CNG) from TxFax and busy detect
I'm losing call files in /var/spool/asterisk/outgoing because * isn't able to detect the busy signal. The call file looks like this: Channel: Zap/g2/3036701917 MaxRetries: 1000 RetryTime: 60 WaitTime: 45 Application: TxFAX Data: <filename>.tiff|caller Using the "|caller" parameter, TxFax injects the fax tone (CNG) onto the line. With the CNG tone, asterisk is unable

Interrupt latency problems
I'm debugging a TxFax problem whereby the fax transmission fails. I suspect interrupt latency--some interrupt routine is holding its interrupt too long. I have all unnecessary services switched off and X is not running when I perform these tests. Some transmission are successful while others fail at random points. I've noticed that after I boot Linux, load zaptel, wcfxo, and wcfxs,

Asterisk Maintenance
I went on a service call yesterday to find an asterisk system with a T100P card on a Qwest PRI and a TDM40B card connected to fax machines. The TDM40B LEDs were not lit, and the system did not respond to keyboard input. However, calls were being processed for the PRI and 7960 phones. I replaced the TDM40B card with a new one, and the system now seems to be ok. But I'm wondering, why
