No rings before auto attendant
Hi all, been searching & not finding an answer to this, although I'm guessing it's absurdly simple... I just hooked up a T1 to our * box (1.2.0), which had been using POTS lines via a channel bank.. Now when I call the new T1 circuit, there are no rings, the Autoattendant just picks up right away.. Any clue on how to make it ring twice before getting picked up? I tried immedate=no and

Attendant configured AutoAttendant
Anyone have a user configured auto attendant setup? Something that can be used without the * admin helping to make changes. Something where the operator can record the message like 'press 1 for john, 2 for bill, 3 for jean' and then the operator can enter the extension that gets dialed when the caller presses 1 or 2 or 3? This would be useful if Bill leaves the company, the operator can

Auto-attendant with an IP trunk
Hi: I am trying to setup a simple auto attendant with Asterisk using SIP extensions. I have an IP trunk to voicepulse and my outgoing calls go over that. I can also receive calls on that voicepulse trunk and want it to an auto attendant. Everything works except on the following: - one of the options is to allow the caller to press the extension that they would like to be connected to. I have

multiple auto attendants
Hi I was given the task to try and build a VOIP solution to an office building with multiple tenants in all sizes and shapes. Some of them will require auto attendants and some will simply want direct lines to their phones. The question I have is: Can asterisk be configured to handle multiple auto attendants? TIA Paolo

GotoIf() on Auto-Attendant
Hello all, I'm planning to create a simple Auto-Attendant (IVR Menu) for my home PBX yet all callers from incoming (trunk) calls must only press the extension numbers from the [analog-ext] else will play the "pbx-invalid". How do you do that using the GotoIf() (or probably using the other applications) but will check if the numbers entered belongs to a specific context? Also, how

Receiving faxes with spandsp question
Hello! I?m trying to add fax functionality to my asterisk installation. Right now I?m focusing on receiving faxes. This is not explained in a book, but I assume that I can use same context, add ?fax? extension and if someone calls to send fax - it will autodetect. Right? Per book, I made following setup additions: 1. In sip.conf [general] I added: ;FAX stuff faxdetect=yes t38pt_udptl=yes 2.

Asterisk retains DTMF Control Even when an External IVR System is dialed
I am using Asterisk 1.06 Stable. When I dial my Mobile Number to check Voice Mail or my Bank Account Phone Access Number, the IVR System on the other end asks me to enter *2378 to transfer to an attendant. But When I press *2378, Asterisk tells me that it cannot transfer the calls and gives an error on CLI saying Extension '' does not exist in the dial plan. What is the trick to make

Why can Asterisk Auto Attendant pick up on firstring?
Someone will probably tell you with more certainty, but (you don't say but I assume you are talking about FXO) the Caller ID normally comes in between the first and seconds rings, I think you can tell asterisk not to get the CID but if you don't, it waits for it. Also, I remember reading in a modem manual something about the number of rings you had to let your modem ring before doing an

Setting auto-attendant to answer immediately
Currently when I call in to my * box it answers after two rings. I'd like for it to answer without ringing. Is this an option somewhere in the dialplan that I'm missing? Thanks, Andrew

PRI dialing IVR with inband DTMF
I have a client who is using a Shoretel PBX. This PBX apparently does not send DTMF information OOB, but instead sends this inband via the B-channel. This is traversing an Asterisk box via a PRI. The user calls the IVR (1-800-CALL-DHL), receives audio, but is not able to present DTMF to engage the IVR. With some light research it appears that the DSP is not activating until the call is

Digit detect during a Background() inside a Macro wrongly jumps b ack to the calling context to match digits?
Consider this dialplan fragment, where the call is being dialed into [macro-process-routing] over an iax2 channel from another (same build) Asterisk server: [macro-process-routing] ; This is the entrypoint of the debug call but is also refered to by Macro(process-routing) elsewhere in the dialplan ; XXX-NNN-6800 exten => _6800,1,Macro(6800-interceptor) ; This is matched when 8 is

ivr key press?
I'm testing an ivr implementation (first time) using: exten => 620,1,Wait,1 exten => 620,2,Answer exten => 620,3,DigitTimeout,5 exten => 620,4,ResponseTimeout,10 exten => 620,5,Background(npi-greeting) ; "Thanks for calling press 1 for" exten => 1,1,Goto(npi-directory,s,1) For initial testing, I've arbitrarily mapped this onto ext 620 (will change that later

Need an Asterisk Expert for a Project
We have a customer that handles the billing for a rather large company. Anyway, they have their phone system through us, Cisco 79xx phones with Asterisk and such. They want us to build them an IVR system that can interact with their billing system through XML and read back information to the customer. They want their customers to be able to call in, enter account numbers or credit card numbers

Dear list, I need to buy a phone which could monitor the state of the maximun number of sip extensions about 200. It is for an attendant. I just saw Snom 370 with keypad and Linksys 962 but they do not let me to monitor 200 extensions states adding keypads. Do you know any kind of phone that let me do that? Which is the maximun number of extensions your phones can monitor and which models phones

7960G + Asterisk auto attendant
All, I'm trying to hear the asterisk's auto attendant in its default configuration. According to VoIP Hacks in Chapter 4, I found the following excerpt after successfully configuring my SIP IP Phone (Cisco 7960G): In its default configuration, Asterisk has an auto-attendant that can route calls. To try it out, take the IP phone off the hook and dial 2. Then dial the BudgeTone's Send
