Can anybody recommend a good T1/PRI provider ?
Are you looking for local or Long distance? What will these T1s primarily be used for(inbound/outbound, domestic, local, long distance, international) How important are per minute rates to you? how many minutes do you expect to use per month? We are in Tampa Florida and have 15 T1s from several different providers so I may be able to refer you to one if it's a match to what you're

Rate Engine Compile Error
I've tried to compile rate-engine 0.5.2 on Fedora Core 1, Redhat 9 and OpenNA Linux 1.0 and all give me an "Error 1" after typing "make" but with no real reason given. Just a few standard/non-critical warning messages, and then suddenly "Error 1" Anybody successfully compile Rate Engine? The least cost routing module for Asterisk? Thanks in advance.

limit the length of extensions
How do I limit the length of an extension? In my test IVR/Automated Attendant (whatever it's called), at the beginning it plays "if you know your parties 3 digit extension, you may enter it now) and then it gives a list of options. If the caller puts the 3 digit extension, it goes through fine, if they press 1, or 2 it goes to the selected menu option, but if they dial 91235551212 it

cluster by unique value
Hi, I need to make a cluster classification by the unique values of the data frame. I explain the problem. I need to classify this table, and assign to the same cluster each row that has the same combination of value: > data1 layer_1 layer_2 layer_3 [1,] 0.2460000000 2 -0.1 [2,] 0.5460000000 3 -0.1 [3,] 0.2460000000 2 -0.1 [4,]

Xen in a routed network environment?
Hello, I''m used to using Xen in a bridge mode where my dom0 and all domUs are on the same layer 2 network. However now I have to set up a server whose eth0 is on one network and the domUs will be on another /29. So, for example, if the eth0 of dom0 is 192.168.1.214/24, then I have 10.1.1.0/29 (10.1.1.0 -> 10.1.1.7) routed to it for use in domUs, how would I go about setting that up?

GRSecurity and ALSA on a Gentoo Server
I've been working with Asterisk for about 2 months now and am doing well. However I decided to switch platforms from Fedora Core 1, that my predacessor was using, to Gentoo, for obvious reasons. It just seems faster and less "bloated" everything I need, nothing I don't. Anyways, I've read what the Wiki had to say about it and I was only confused on one thing, putting

Strange Quality problems with Asterisk, Gentoo, Redhat and Kernels - /dev/dsp
I've compiled Asterisk on Redhat 9 and Fedora Core 1 in the past, generally without any problems. Especially w/ the stock kernel, which I generally loathe. When I tried to upgrade my Redhat 9 Server to the 2.4.27 kernel, doing a manual/clean compile, I had massive quality issues. I was forced to go back down to a stock 2.4.24 kernel. Never figured out why. Now, I've installed Gentoo

Terminal Services + VoIP
Hi All, I'm looking at implementing Asterisk for a customer that uses Microsoft Terminal Services heavily in their workplace (every workstation). It's about 25 users, and about 30 phones. At the moment their running on standard 10/100 switches. Nothing special, so I am wondering if I should recommend Layer3 switching for internal QoS? >From my experience with Terminal Services,

Asterisk & 3com nbx 100 support
Does anybody know if the 3com NBX 100 phones will work with Asterisk? The phones require a boot image to be sent either through layer2 or layer3 before they will function properly after being powered on each time. Thanks.

How does Vonage support fax machines?
My boss is insisting we support fax, and I keep telling him that Fax over IP is very unreliable and not recommended and his immediate come-back is "Vonage does it." and it's very hard to figure out how. I don't think Vonage does T.38, the Linksys/Sipura units they're using doesn't support T.38 to my knowledge. That means they have to be using G.711Ulaw to send faxes.

QOS and Asterisk
I will have a small shop with ~4 phones using an HP server with Asterisk on it, it has two NICS and so I planned on plugging one into the cable modem, and the other into the switch. I was going to let this box perform NAT for the company but I am concerned about QOS for the VOIP portion. Anyone got a similar setup and care to share what they successfully implemented? Thanks! jlc

Asterisk not outputting real time display
For almost 6 months now I've upgraded Asterisk every couple of weeks or so and I've never had this problem. When I'm at the asterisk console (asterisk -r) it shows me live status. Who called who, what it's playing and when, etc. It logs to the screen. When I type reload, it says "added so and so to so and so context" gives me some long display as it reloads. But

RAID/SCSI/IDE/SATA and a TE405P (or T100P) c ard. Should I expect problems?
Hello, We use all SCSI PCI card hardware RAIDs on all 4 of our production Asterisk servers. They all have Digium quad T1 cards and they all have from 2 to 4 T1s hooked up to them. We have had no noticable problems with dropped calls/poor quality. What are you looking to do with this system? what kind of traffic will be going through these 4 T1s? IP Cop as a firewall and QOS
We are looking for a good firewall replacement which will basically do pot blocking and QOS. Our current solution just plain stinks.. We basically need to handle the traffic of a few web servers, mail server and asterisk box. The most traffic this device will need to handle is what can be shoved through a T1. I don't mind buying an appliance to get something solid but IP Cop just looks

Layer 2 VPN with OpenSSH on CentOS7 not working!
Hi all. I'm trying to bring an Amazon VM into the LAN by following this guide [0]. However, it appears that OpenSSH on either RHEL7 or CentOS7 is broken as it is not creating tap interface but tun interface. I've tried this on both CentOS5 and CentOS6 and they both work as advertised! Downgrading the OS is not an option! CentOS5/6 gives me: ****************** tap1:

which distro for asterisk?
Hi I want to play a bit with Asterisk. I currentlly install a new system for that and I would like to get your recommendations regarding the linux distro to use there. This is NOT intended to become a general distro flame war. My favorite distro is ******** and no argument that you flame will convince me here (probably because I've heard it before). However I would like to minimize the OS
