SIP and IAX Registration Problem with Dynamic IP
Hi there, I'm having problems with the current Debian unstable package of Asterisk. I'm not sure if it's package related or a general problem with Asterisk, so bear with me please. I'm running my Asterisk on my home net behind NAT. Deutsche Telekom's ADSL is slightly braindead in that they drop the connection after being online constantly for 24 hours so you have to reconnect

Billsec on CDR
I have an X100P and when I place calls to the PSTN which are not answered, the Billsec field of the CDR still logs the seconds that the phone rang. Can someone please confirm that this has to do with the ringcadance of the indications.conf file? Is there anything else I need to check ? Thanks in advance -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

[Bridge] ebtables target to disable an interface
I would like to set up an ACL for an ethernet port using ebtables rules, and if a security violation occurs, to physically disable the port (i.e. whatever "ifconfig down" does). I did not see such a feature in the ebtables man page. Does this exist anywhere, or do I have to create a new extension for it? -- Dan Eble <dane@aiinet.com> _____ . | _

strange behavior when reading csv - line wraps
Dear All, I am observing a strange behavior and searching the archives and help pages didn't help much. I have a csv with a variable number of fields in each line. I use dataPoints <- read.csv(inputFile, head=FALSE, sep=";",fill =TRUE); to read it in, and it works. But - some lines are long and 'wrap', or split and continue on the next line. So when I check the dim of

[Bridge] Two entries in forwarding database
I'm debugging a strange problem of noncommunication between two devices. The test configuration is also strange, and involves loops. Things magically start working when I run tcpdump to put the bridge interface into promiscuous mode. I also noticed this in the output of brctl showmacs. port no mac addr is local? ageing timer 1 00:40:72:04:2d:ea no

Failed to verify incoming ticket!
Hello, a few people asked about this problem here, but up to now I have not seen a solution. System: fresh installed Debian Woody with backported packages from backports.org, nothing else, only samba3 running. System ist intended as replacement for our old windows-fileserver. Situation: after installation and configuration all worked well, accessing shares works without password-checking.

debian packages: krb5
Does anyone know where I can find the needed Debian packages for installing Kerberos 1.3.1? >From what I've been told I need these for ADS support in Samba. There are no backports for Kerberos 1.3 or higher. If anyone has any suggestions besides building from source, I'd like to hear them. Thanks, Brian

> -----Original Message----- > From: Stephen Hemminger [mailto:shemminger@osdl.org] > Sent: Wednesday, February 25, 2004 11:41 AM > > Could you work with 2.6 rather than 2.4? I'm truly sorry, but I get paid to work with 2.4. My employer understands the value of giving back to the open source community, and this is what we have at the moment. Someone else is going to have to

Supporting both non encrypted and encrypted passwords
Hi, I have a network with a mix of Win95 and 98 machines (thus some use encrypted passwords by default and some don't. I already have all the users in a Unix password file therefore I'd like to use non encrypted passwords if I can and fall back on encrypted passwords if I don't have a choice (patched Win95 and Win98) because that requires people with encrypted password

security = ADS with libkrb53.
I've been trying to get samba to integrate with a Win2000 ADS, with very limited success.. but from recent postings I think I have found my problem. I am only using libkrb 1.2.4. I know I need 1.3.3, but don't particularly want to compile from source. I'm running a Debian Stable machine, so was wondering if anyone knows of where I can get a backport to woody of the newest Kerberos

Samba vs DHCP
I was using a Samba server under a SUNOS 5.5.1 operative system. This SUN machine was the server of a number of Lynux (Mandrake) and Windows (95,98, XP) computers in a TCP/IP network with fixed IP numbers. We were oblied to change to DHCP recently. As our network has a huge number of computers I am running the smbd and nmbd daemos of the Samba with an identification in such a way that only those

[Bridge] Bridge and PACKET-socket
Ahoy, I've encountered some confusing semantics with using PACKET(7) sockets on bridge-enslaved interfaces. Specifically, if my socket accepts all types of frame (bind() to ETH_P_ALL) then it gets all packets; but if it accepts any specific type (e.g. ETH_P_IP), then it receives no packets at all. That is how it's coded in net/core/dev.c's netif_receive_skb(). First ETH_P_ALL

[Bridge] Any way of knowing a packet's been defragmented
Hello, Due to a recent change in the bridge code, we now need a way of knowing if a packet has been defragmented. The bridge code now checks on the packet size and drops packets that are too big for the output port. Defragmented packets will get refragmented later, so they shouldn't be dropped. I've been reading the defragmentation code and can't find an easy way of knowing if a

[Bridge] Bridging between user processes
Hi, What is the easiest way to bridge between two user-space processes that talk directly to Ethernet interfaces? I have two applications that write/read Ethernet frames to/from Linux Ethernet ports (e.g. eth0). The applications can successfully talk to each other when they run on two machines connected over Ethernet. I would like to be able to test them on a single machine without employing

Solution -- can connect via IP but not by name
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Here's an update for those of you struggling to get Samba working in an AD domain environment. ~ Summary: in securirty = ads, clients can browse to the ~ Samba member server via IP but not by name (either netbios ~ or DNS). Kinit and wbinfo -t all work as expected. The apparent reason for this is that the 2k client uses NTLMSSP when you
