IAXy playing dead again
It's happened before, cleared up and now it happened again. The IAXy, working for a total of about 6 months. Symptoms: Registered with asterisk and even receives calls (the LED shows it's ringing) but phones connected to it are dead. Same phones work connected directly to the phone line. Cable swapped out, no difference. Endless re-provision (with normal looking output) and power

Busy signal from IAXy when not connecting to my Asterisk box
I'm having a problem with my IAXy not always connecting to my Asterisk box. When I pick-up the phone plugged in to the IAXy I get a busy signal. I have to hang-up the phone and wait a few seconds after the orange LED goes out and then try again. When this happens I don't see any connection attempts in the Asterisk -r output. When I do get the IAXy to connect to Asterisk I get a

How do i "talk" to the IAXy...? (Newbie Alert)
Hi, hoping that experienced hands will quickly show me the right way: after a fruitless web search i am turning to this list with my rather elementary question: is there any other way to communicate with the IAXy besides using special utility software that needs to be compiled under UNIX? Here is the story: about two months ago, after some not very satisfactory attempts at using SIP (my phone

IAXy power source from Radio Shack
Anyone using this 110-220v 9v 1500ma supply? If so, which DC plug adapter does the IAXy need? A friend brought the wall wart over here for me but she said you get one plug free and she didn't know which one it took. Does anyone here know? http://www.radioshack.com/category.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&category%5Fname=CTLG%5F009%5F001%5F001%5F003&Page=1

iax.conf qualify=yes not working?
We have many IAXy devices in the field now. In all cases, in iax.conf, we have "qualify=yes", so that using "iax2 show peers", we can see whether or not the device is currently online. In some cases, the IAXy device and/or Asterisk are not communicating their qualification, because "iax2 show peers" shows the device as status UNKNOWN. However, when a user picks up

What my IAXy could have been...
Hi, methinks that in the good 3 months since i ordered an IAXy, things have changed so much that now almost anybody out there with a VoIP hardweare website offers complete phones for less money than the IAXy, with support for both IAX2 and SIP in many cases, and fully configurable via its own keypad. What would you recommend as a rugged, small, and easy to configure/use self-contained unit that

IAXy Static... and other issues
Hey Everyone, I recently purchased a few IAXy units for some testing, and have come across a some problems. One of them can be provisioned but will not ring the connected telephone. It also does not provide a dial tone when you pick up the phone. When a call is made to the IAXy one of the green lights on the board goes from a solid on state, to a flashing state that coincides with the

IAXY Polarity
Yesterday I was using one of the cheap Radio Shack phone polarity on various phone outlets in my house and ended up plugging it into my IAXY. While the regular phone jacks tested OK, the IAXY tested as being reverse polarity. The tester was plugged directly into the IAXY so there is no chance of this being caused by crossed wires. Is this something that is misconfigured on the IAXY, a hardware

Soekris net4801 and IAXy dhcp issue
Hi all, I have a Soekris net4801-50 board with OpenBSD 3.9 where I've configured a dhcp server and tested it with a regular PC connected directly via a crossover cable with success. The problem comes when I try to connect my IAXy device instead of the PC. I can see with 'tcpdump -nettti sis1' that the IAXy isn't sending any packets to the dhcp server. I thought my IAXy was bad

IAXy - anyone using them yet?
I haven't seen much activity on the list concerning Digium's IAXy standalone FXS device. Are they worth $100 ? Do they integrate well with * as an extension's FXS ?

Iaxy clicking
Hi, I have three Iaxy devices (s101i) parts. Two of them seem to work fine. The third plays a loud repeating click sound when an analog phone is plugged in. I can provision all of them, and make calls to all of them. The clicking one will blink when a call is incoming, but no audio from the call can be heard on the handset, and the caller only hears silence. The same handset works on the

Soekris net4801-50 + IAXY
Hi, I'm having an issue with a soekris net4801 board and a S101i "IAXy" device. When I connect a successfully provisioned IAXy directly via a crossover cable into an ethernet port of the soekris, the link led turns on orange so i'ts 10Mb and the activity led blinks like if there is some action going on but when I try 'tcpdump -nettti sis1' I see nothing going on, no

IAXy Configuration
I can't seem to get this device to grab an ip from dhcp. We have a working dhcp server (unfortunately it is on Windows), but I don't show any leases requested by the iaxy. Anyone have any ideas? The ethernet and phone lines are plugged in before the device is powered. Thanks, Erik

Delay when routing PSTN -> IAXy dect phone
Just setup *, got a developers kit FXO where the incoming/outgoing pstn is plugged in. I've then got an IAXy that is plugged into a Philips DECT phone. * is setup so that the [bell] section rings the phone - exten => s,1,Dial(IAX2/myuser,30) What's happening when someone calls my number is that the phone rings 3 times before you hear the dect phone ringing. Anybody got any ideas as

Q about IAX (and IAXy)
This is somewhat related to my other query on the list regarding NAT traversal. I have heard many times that IAX is "NAT-transperant". I am unsure how it accomplishes this. I do know that SIP works like this: your SIP device send a request to the SIP server (usually on port 5060) with whatever command. The SIP server respends to your device's "apparent" IP and port (this

IAXY DNS possibilities??
There is no DNS functionality built into the IAXY, I am assuming you want to be able to home onto a SOHO site with a dynamic IPaddress. I have not been able to figure out a clean way to do theis (make it easy for the roaming sales-folk etc,) who will not have a high tolerance for running something like an IAXYPROV. You would need to somehow have an external fixed address which would

Outbound calls through iaxy ATA not hearing ring + appending carrier PIN codes
Greetings all- Long story short - I find myself suddenly running a Asterisk PBX after old PBX suddenly died. Fortunately, I had been "playing" with Asterisk (via Trixbox) on a server in consideration of replacing our aged Merlin Legend - so over the course of last weekend, I brought my testbed PBX up to full operation and now supports about 30 users. All in all, went smoother than

Faxing with an IAXy
Hi, Has anyone got faxing working via an IAXy? I'm having trouble getting it working with a fax machine here. The IAXy works fine, I can make incoming/outgoing calls via it, however our PDQ takes a few redials to get data over to the dialled party, and faxing doesn't seem to work at all. I have turned off all the echo cancellation stuff, just in case that was an issue. Anything I
