switch statement in extensions.conf
So I have two asterisk servers, one acting as a frontend and another
acting as a backend interface to a PRI. All I want is for the backend
to send all calls from the DAHDI interface to the frontend. Seems like
switch would do that by placing this on the backend server:
switch => IAX2/frontend1/inbound_context
'frontend1' is already defined with proper username/secret combos in

How do I reload extensions included in a switch statement in extensions.conf?
Hi,
I have two Asterisk servers and I forward calls from one to the other.
How do I reload extensions included in a switch statement in
extensions.con? I have tried "extensions reload", "reload" and "restart
now", and it's only "restart now" that works. Is this how it is supposed
to work or can it be a misconfiguration?

extensions.conf - switch => statement?
Hi all
I'm trying to understand what the switch => statement in the extension plan
exactly does.
Unfortunately it seams to be very badly documented. There's allmos noting
about it in o'Reilly's Asterisk Book. Nothing in the shipped /doc, nothing on
voip-info.org.
Even with google I found ony very few infos.
So can somebody explain?

The switch statement in extensions.conf
Hi all,
i need to know how to use the switch statement in extensions.conf to throw
calls on a secondary asterisk server. I have been trying all day to be able
to make it work but its not working. It displays the following error:
pbx_find_extension: No such switch 'master:secret at 192.168.0.7'
I have read the help material on voip-info for connecting 2 asterisk servers

iaxtel and jitterbuffer
I am trying to work out IAX <--> IAX communications with my * box. I have a
registration with iaxtel and I thought I would start there for my learning.
I am able to call the number for Digium's support line (700-428-6000), but the
sound is horribly chopping. Some reading revealed the jitterbuffer settings,
so I enabled them in iax.conf. I have the following now:

Double DTMF digits
When dtmfmode is set to inband for SIP, and i originate a call from sip
out to the PSTN, I can hear the DTMF digit twice in the audio stream.
Once very briefly and once for normal duration.
Our Theory: While Asterisk is parsing the DTMF, for a fraction of a
second, while the end user generated DTMF is being detected, the DTMF is
passed inband. Once the DTMF is detected Asterisk silences it

FWD IAX Problem
Hi All,
I am having trouble with receiving calls from FWD via IAX. I know this
isn't a FWD support forum, but I suspect the problem is my asterisk setup.
The problem is that I can dial out to fwd subscribers, even myself but
they can't dial me using my FWD number.
I don't know much about IAX, but it would seem to me like a registration
problem, but I get no errors or warnings in

So I`ve setup the keys and servers seem authenticate to each other. One
is named phila and other hurricane.
Here is what I see on phila:

Asterisk and multicore processors
I'm specing out a new box to act as a tandem switch. It will have a TE410P
with 4 x PRI and support IAX connections to four other boxes using
predominantly ilbc and/or gsm. It also has 3 IAX trunks to Teliax for call
routing also using gsm. No extensions actually terminate on the tandem,
they're all switched to other boxes (highly distributed). On the PRI card,
one goes to Embarq, the

Use Asterisk Realtime Extensions with Switch-statement and include-statement
Hello,
Is it possible to use the switch => statement in extensions.conf
(http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Asterisk+RealTime+Extensions) to
point to a database and in the database use the include-statement ?
In extconfig.conf I would have :
extensions => mysql,asterisk,extensions_table
In extensions.conf I would then have :

Switch statement
Hi,
I have two sites and I'd like to connect them with a IAX trunk and share the
dialplan. Extensions cannot be clearly separated. Do I need to use 'switch'
statement or DUNDI/e.164?
Using 'switch', does any user can call any extension on both sites?
Thanks
Mimmus
