I just got a Polycom soundpoint and I set it up using the phone and web based admin. I cant seem to figure out the config files and they are confusing me greatly and I dont have time for it :) Some things are odd, like on every reboot it seems the volume I set is reset? is there any way to fix that. It never gets to the prompt that asks if I want to enter the setup configuration or continue booting. I have an extension setup in my extensions.conf for hold music. ext. 600. If I pick up a phone (polycom soundpoint 300 sip) and dial extension 600 I hear the hold music playing. If I call another extension and pick it up and put the call on hold with the hold button on the phone I hear nothing at all. Does anyone have any experience with these phones and getting the hold button to work?

When I receive a call, the phone is ringing correctly but when I answer it, it takes exactly 10 seconds before I can hear the caller. Hi, all. I see that the Polycom SoundPoint IP 330 supports VLAN... but I don't quite see how that works. Do you point a non-VLAN'd segment at it (akin to when you uplink a VLAN_enabled switch), and have the phone implement the VLAN? Or...? *puzzled* Thanks much, -Ken

What headsets have people found work well with the Polycom Soundpoint 500 & 600? If any of the headsets that work with the Polycom's also work the Cisco, that would be an added bonus, but is by no means a requirement. I am not looking for a headset that requires an external amplifier, but rather a headset that can make use of the headset jack on the phone itself.

now that I have finally figured out what I was doing wrong with my polycom phone and got it to read the configuration file Im changing some gains. I successfully changed the gain for the ringer... It was too low for me. Does anyone know which gain would be for the call waiting and which tone would be for the "hands free" mode? Thanks
