Problems reciving fax with Asterisk
Hi, I am trying to recice a fax with * using SpanDSP - but it doesn't create the output file. (See the bottom of log file). * Loads both app_rxfax.so and app_txfax.so fine. Also I can't make * autodetect an incomming fax call (yes I have enabled faxdetect=both in zapata.conf - though it's not a Zap device) Any ideas are welcome :-) Best Regards Michael L?jtnant System Details:

FAX application does not work for me....
Hi, I have tried to install and configure the FAX app using the steps described in several mails on this list. When a FAX call arrives on X100P, the fax extension is executed, which looks like: exten => fax,1,RxFax(/var/spool/asterisk/incoming/${CALLERIDNUM}.tif) exten => fax,2,Hangup It tries to negociate, but nothing is received at the end and the other part times out. txfax spandsp
I've been using spandsp and rxfax to receive faxes for a while now and over the past few days I've looked into the other side of things - txfax. I can't seem to get it working properly. I've included debug logs below of both the tx and rx side of things. I've tried three different servers, asterisk v1.0.6, 1.0.9 and CVS, FC2 and FC4, libtiff 3.5.7 and 3.7.1, TE405P and

RxFAX generates no tiff file
Hi, I am trying to receive a fax with the spandsp library. The sending fax says "success" but there is no tiff file generated. I use "exten => 7000,1,rxfax(/tmp/testfax.tif)" in my extensions.conf. The connection is via SIP/G.711 as I have read on the list that this can sometimes work (I know Fax over IP is troublesome without T.38). I think the transmission should not

scandsp, voicetronix and rxfx
Hi all, Trying to get fax reception going using a voicetronix openline4 card, however, there are two issues (as far as I can see) (1) Currently the voicetronix world (cards, firmware, drivers, channel prog etc.) does not do fax tone detection. I have spoken to the voicetronix guys , understand what has to happen there and may do some hacking if I can resolve the second issue. Meanwhile, I

SpanDSP/RxFax help...
I've seen people mention that they have fax reception working with Asterisk, spandsp, and app_rxfax. I'm using the latest Asterisk from CVS, SpanDSP 0.0.1k, and the latest app_rxfax.c (as mirrored by friendly list members recently), and libtiff 3.5.7. Asterisk is detecting the fax signal properly, and executing the fax extension in the dialplan. The fax part of the dialplan is pretty

txfax failure
Hi list, Just installed spandsp. In my limiting testing, I have an issue on a Philips fax machine (HFC21) directly connected to my * server through TDM400, reception with rxfax works fine, but txfax always fails. Below is a transcript of failed transmit. This is with asterisk-1.0.3 (with native moh patch but I don't think it is the source of the problem). I already tried libtiff 3.5.7,

SpanDSP - Training failed error / timing problem
I am having a problem with SpanDSP. What happens is when I send a fax to SpanDSP the fax message seems to fail in the training phase. I think it's a timing error, however I have no idea about how to rectify the problem. I have included a copy of the log below. I am using a Digium TDM-400P card with 2 x FXO ports and 2 x FXS ports. The fax is connected to one of the FXS ports (Zap3). The

I'm trying to send a fax to my asterisk box, however shortly after connecting the fax machine reports a "communication error" and hangs up. Below is the error I get from RxFax: Fast carrier training failed Nothing is written to the file system as far as the tiff is concerned. Any ideas on how to fix this? Software FAX Modem--One Last Request For Help
Here's one last plea for help from the list before I give up on the totally cool software FAX modem concept in complete despair (for now, at least, until I have more time to dig into it).... I am simply not able to successfully receive a FAX no matter what device I transmit from or how I bring the call into Asterisk. My lastest effort was a call from a Pitney-Bowes FAX machine into an X100P
