similar to: my iaxy makes a strange noise...

Hi, What noise should I expect to hear once I've plugged an IAXY into my network and connected to Asterisk? I suspect I should hear a dialtone? I'm not sure if I have a faulty device or have a configuration issue. Currently,it is making a seriously strange noise - machine gun like with static. Any comments appreciated. Thanks, Conrad

I have a brand new IAXy I'm playing with. I do not get a dialtone on the phone, or any response at ll on the phone. No sound, no dialing, no ringing. The phone and wire are tested and known to be good. I think I have it setup correctly. I just bought an IAXy and have been using it with * and NuFone. Around once every 24-48 hours of operation (not off hook, just powered up), when I pick up the phone I hear loud static instead of dialtone. If there's an incoming call, the phone will ring and * CLI will show that it's trying iaxy, but when picking up--no answer to * and loud static. The incoming call goes to VM. Cycling

Yesterday I was using one of the cheap Radio Shack phone polarity on various phone outlets in my house and ended up plugging it into my IAXY.
