Recording outbound analog calls with X100P
List members, Is it possible to record outbound analog calls using an X100P? I was asked if I knew how to record all calls for a shop with 4 analog phones transparently to the end users. I thought Asterisk was a good fit for this and I envisioned using either Digium TDM400Ps or Sangoma A200s with 4 FXO and 4 FXS modules. The FXO modules would be connected to the existing PBX and the FXS

Newbie physical layout question
Sorry for the very newbie-like question. I have the FXS part straight. The part I don't understand is the FX0 part. Will I need the FX0 card if I am connecting to a service like FWD? My goal is to get rid of my phone line all together. I am under the impression I will only need an FX0 if I'm connecting to the central office side of the phone connection or to an existing PBX. Asterisk Setup Question -- Please Help
I have a question on Asterisk and whether it will work with the following design. Install ASTERISK on the external side of the Network. Purchase an AudioCodes 4/8 port Analog Fx0 gateway. So far everything seems straight forward. Here is the twist. The company currently has Cisco Call Manager 3.3 which does not support SIP Trunking. But it does have a VG248. I would like to place 4 lines

nnamp question
Hi: I have a machine with four interfaces connecting four different networks. I am learning to use nmap and trying to force the nmap working only one interface. As nmap man page states, I use -e option and it would not work: nmap -e fx0 -v -sP 192.168.128.0/23 Starting Nmap 3.95 ( http://www.insecure.org/nmap/ ) at 2006-02-04 14:04 CST getinterfaces: Failed to open ethernet interface (el0)

Disconnect Problem
Dear all, I have an FX0 card installed in * and connected to a PBX. Calling works ok ( both in bound /out bound) but after the call, I have to press the '#' key to terminate the call, otherwise the line stays busy. Anybody has a fix for that? Thank you. Anthony

E400P and 2 X100P working, but not together
Hey all, ? I'm trying to get an E400P and 2 X100Ps working together in the one box and don't seem to be having much luck. ? I can get the two different types of boards working separately, but not together.? I've made calls on both the X100P and have seen sync and correct signalling on the E400P.? But when I try to enable to configs together I get the following: ? modprobe wcfxo

X100P random hangups - Please help with suggestions
Thanks for the reply Bill. I am aware of the interrupts problem. To solve it I have already disabled my serial ports freeing up interrupts 3 and 4 and these are allocated to the two cards. This was done 2 months ago and has not solved the problem. Is there any way that something can wake up every now and then and generate these two interrupts? My current /proc/interrupts is as follows:

testing asterisks
I am interested in running asterisks and gno phone. However, i have yet to purchase the x100p cards. Is there a way for me to test asterisks in like a simulated mode or something? (to get used to it and the configs and stuff, prior to purchasing the x100ps?) Thanks all, A.J.

Discriminating between two incoming lines?
It seems like I've seen how to do this, but so far my archives search has come up dry. I have two X100Ps working with a single instance of asterisk, and I want to do different things with incoming calls depending on which line has rung in. Could someone provide me with a quick pointer? Thx. B.

Dead FXO Module on TDM400P?
Since the irc channel wasn't any help, I will try posting my problem here. I have two TDM400Ps less than a week old in a PC. All of the FXS ports work fine, and all of the FXO ports worked fine up until thisafternoon. If I try to dial in, I get a busy signal, if I try to dial out, all I hear is a very scratchy, very crackly dialtone. If I swap the first FXO module with the second on the card,

Three tdm400p's (loaded with FXOs)
Hi all, Theoretically, I know it's possible, but is any using multiple tdm400ps (fxo) in single * box? In a production environment? Any gotchas aside form irq sharing? Thanks Ryan

indications issues in Singapore?
Hi all, haven't seen many posts about asterisk in Singapore... Getting a server going there and was wondering if TDM400Ps will be fine in FCC mode, and if there are indications / cadence values that I should be putting on there as in other international locations. Seen an unsettling post on voip-info about Singapore issues with Call Polarity/Hangup Detection -- crossing my fingers I

Motherboards and IRQs
Someone mentioned earlier (I can't find the message now) that they had a motherboard that allowed you to change IRQ assignments in BIOS. Does anyone happen to know how to identify motherboards that can do this? I'm going to put together a new machine now and I'm having trouble picking a motherboard for it (ordering from Dell or other online vendor is not an option, since I need

Cheap Learning Environment
Hello all, Like many of you I'm sure have done, I'd like to build an * box at home for testing/educational purposes (and to eventually have one killer fancy schmancy phone system for my SOHO). If I have two standard phone lines in my house, what is the cheapest hardware solution to interface them with *? Thanks! Kris -------------- next part -------------- An HTML

Issues with convolve
We obtained some disturbing results from convolve() (inaccuracies and negative probabilities). We'll try to make the context clear in as few lines as possible... Our function panjer() (code below) basically computes recursively the probability mass function of a compound Poisson distribution. When the Poisson parameter lambda is very large, the starting value of the recursive scheme ---

Trying to do very simple Zaptel Config. NO LUCK!
Hi, I am trying to do the world's most simple install. I have a Wildcard TDM400P with 3 ports: 1 FXS on port 1 and 2 FXOs on ports 3 and 4. (i'm not using port 3 for now, put want it for expansion purposes) I simply (to start with) am looking to have the FXS phone ring when an FX0 port is dialed. I would also like to be able to place outgoing calls on the FXS through the FXO. Right
