tiff() and antialias option
I was wondering if someone could help with the antialias option in tiff(). I'm running R 2.9.2 on a Linux machine. I'm working on creating a tiff file and have tried different antialias parameters, e.g. default, none, gray, and subpixel, but don't seem to be seeing a difference in the output. Or perhaps I'm missing something obvious? Thanks, Andrew [[alternative HTML version

12-bit functionality in tiff package
Hi, We have recently been using the tiff package for reading tiff images into the Bioconductor Package EBImage. This has been extremely helpful in conjunction with other steps to eliminate dependencies on ImageMagick. However, it seems that 12-bit images are not supported. We were wondering if there are plans to extend the functionality of the readTIFF() function in the tiff package to

tiff printer driver in wine?!
Hi, we need a solution for running a tiff printer driver within wine which creates tiff files from a word document, for example. Only printing through cups and/or lpr to a postscript file is doing now as known, but this is much overhead for the application we want to run. There should be a way to run such a tiff printer driver in wine. Or is doing anyone writing wineps like tiff driver

spandsp tiff debian question
oops. sent this last night - I was getting this list on an alias that I didn't send from. Hello, I am attempting to setup spandsp on debian-unstable-2.6.7-recent-HEAD. Gnome requires libtiff3g 3.6.1-1. I downloaded libtiff 3.5.7 and 3.6.0 and was able to install 3.5.7,spandsp, and reinstall asterisk. A newer Makefile.patch was needed, then I switched a few lines in the Makefile (from

Tiff image handling like MODI
Greetings, I have been searching for some application with functionalities like MODI (Microsoft office Document Imaging) Many I have checked does not cut it or not cross platform. Evince just allows multipage viewing, not extraction of individual pages in to another file. GUI is a necessity. I am aware of tifflib, imagemagick, but but not sure about a decent GUI wrappers for them. The file

beta symbol cut off in y axis label using jpeg/png/tiff
I am having trouble showing the Greek symbol "beta" correctly in the y-axis label of bitmap plots. Specifically, on my system the top of the "beta" symbol is cut off using the following example: file.jpg <- paste(tempfile(), ".jpg", sep = "") jpeg(file.jpg, h = 3, w = 3, units = "in", res = 300, type = "Xlib") boxplot(rnorm(10),

The best way to end up with TIFF {Was: end up with WMF)
Hi all I posted a couple of days ago about how to end up with wmf files eventually in R for linux. The short answer was: you (probably) can't...and don't! The journal in question also accepts TIFF files, I am told (it's a physiology journal). So I adjust my question: What is the best way to get TIFF files out of R? It can't create them directly as far as I can tell.

geotiff or tiff files with world files
Hi, I have a matrix of data which i can vizualize as an image - for example. I would like to save this image as a geotiff file or at a tiff file with a world file which holds the projection of my data (ultimately the data represent a map of some sort). I know i can save the data as an ESRI grid, but i am not interested in that. I wonder if anybody knows about any code which will help me do
